The Best New Bay Area Restaurants of 2019 - Eater SF

"But I’m sure other folks will hit on all those, so let me share a few more that also deserve recognition and support: Bini’s Kitchen and Falafelland on Sixth Street, and Chalos, an adorable empanada and churro cafe on Taraval." - Eater Staff

Ludwig’s German Table Is Bringing a German Beer Hall to Mountain View - Eater SF

"Falafelland is now open at 133 Sixth Street, the former Foodie deli space, serving much more than typical falafel wraps for the SoMa lunch crowd. The restaurant specializes in traditional Yemeni dishes like kabsa, an aromatic rice dish available with lamb, chicken, or vegetables, alongside coffee and tea." - Janelle Bitker

My wife, 2 year old, and I all have eaten here twice now with complete satisfaction. This small diner is offering Michelin star level food at prices anyone can try. The freshly made falafel were absolutely excellent, very crispy outside with perfect light inside. The chef has created all of his dishes by taking traditional foods and adding a very unique touch. The creative sauces and complimentary tea made from ginger and cardamom were personal favorites. We enjoyed our time learning about, and seeing the fresh ingredients that went into the meal. If you like this type of food and pass this place up you are missing out.

Falafelland is the best place to grab a quick bite in SOMA as far as I am concerned. The owners are there 7 days a week, preparing and serving delicious, home-style Yemeni cuisine from a longstanding family recipe book, plus delicious inventions like falafel-breaded marinated salmon. Just about everything at Falafelland is made in house, including delicious hummus and extremely flavorful sauces and relishes. I have been going here several times per week since finding out about it, and I have no plans of stopping.

Love coming here! AMAZING falafel wraps and I love the option for a spicy sauce on top. Service was wonderful and staff is kind, even when they are busy. Highly recommend this gem on 6th street. Ingredients are fresh and the falafel is baked to order. Wraps come fully loaded with veggies and hummus, a generous portion with a great price point. The baklava was also delicious. I tried my boyfriends lamb wrap and the lamb was cooked to perfection, great flavor and was not tough/chewy at all. You can tell that the chefs really care about their food prep and put their soul into it.

Only tried the Falafel wrap so far but it was terrific. Growing up in Israel I know my Falafel. I asked for spicy and let the owner put whatever he wanted in the sandwich. He fried a batch just for me, gave me an extra ball as he was doing the final touch on the grill. The ball was very good, green, moist and flavorful. The sandwich was an excellent combination, not a traditional Israeli kind but close enough and in some ways better.

Best falafel sandwich I’ve had. The falafels are air fried and fresh too, so healthy, warm, and delicious! The best part of the whole experience is the proprietor, really nice guy and welcoming. Don’t miss his desserts, which are fantastic as well. I heard the lamb is great, going to try that next!

Yum. Excellent falafel and chicken sandwich wraps. Tried the halvah, very moist and smooth and tasty. Cascara tea was lovely. Dined in and was served on real plates. Nice folks, too. Happy to discover this in our neighborhood, and we will be back! UPDATE: I've been back a few times and a foodie friend who joined tried the lamb and said it was truly excellent.

One of the best falafel sandwiches in San Francisco. It will make you want to go back to try the other dishes. Super nice manager & cook enjoy talking to the guests. Baklava looks good too. Enjoy!
