Google
Fantastic tour from Tanya, really knowledgable about the property and local area and passionate about the home. It was great to tour this house and learn about the inhabitants and local history, particularly meeting the owners who have lovingly saved and restored this property allowing visitors to tour the home today.

Wow...where do I begin? This place is truly a wonder to behold! If you're a fan of anything historical this is an experience you don't want to miss. Me and my husband spent our one year anniversary here and it was an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail is amazing and I truly felt like I had stepped back in time! The guided tour was so much fun and educational as well. The honeymoon suit was so cozy and the bathtub was such a nice inclusion. The breakfast and Victorian tea was delicious and served with so much care! We spent hours just sitting on the veranda enjoying the view and the peacefulness of it all. I can't speak highly enough about the owners. The love they have for this place and each other is so evident. They were so warm and welcoming that we felt at home from the moment we arrived. Would highly recommend this place to EVERYONE and will most definitely be returning!

This place was really a gem. The home is beautifully restored. That in itself made the visit memorable. But, the bonus was that the owner gave the tour. Also, he and his wife did 95% of the restoration work. We couldn't have asked for anything better. All questions were answered and we continued our discussions after the tour. A delicious lunch was served as well. Thank you George and Charlien!

The love that the owners have for this place is above and beyond they are the hardest working couple I've seen!! We had a wonderful time at Falcon Rest! The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, and the restoration has been done with EXCEPTIONAL attention to detail. The furniture and decor are truly exquisite and care has been put into every touch. The grounds have a soft, soothing atmosphere and some beautiful landscaping. I can't wait to return!

Google
The owners offered me wonderful Southern Hospitality and personalised service. The cottage was fantastic, the home tour took me back in time as if I were there! There's sometfor everyone at their gift shop and the gardens were relaxing and refreshing. Their labour of love in restoring this gem benefits anybody who walks through there. Make the trip!

Google
Falcon Rest Mansion and Gardens is a gem. We had a very quiet and romantic weekend. Our room was comfortable and the antique furniture was exquisite. The house tour is very informative and the decor in every room is incredible. The owners have brought a once decrypted mansion back to life. The mansion is very close to just about everything you would want to explore. We will definitely stay there again for more adventures.

We just recently visited and stayed in the Manager's Cottage. It was so cute, spacious, and spotless. We enjoyed EVERYTHING, the house tour, the gardens, the quirky gift shop, and the mouth watering breakfast. By far the best part was meeting the wonderful owners and staff who, no matter how busy, always took the time to make you feel like family!

Yelp
This is basically a mansion from the late 1800s. We came across it trying to find unique things to do in the area. We got a special private tour with one of the owners. There is so much history here and since they purchased the house, she was able to share so much more. The restored the house as close to how it had been before in its glory days! Seeing the before and after pics blew us away. We highly recommend visiting and not missing this hidden gem.

Yelp
Hubby & I enjoyed our day at Falcon Rest! George & Charlene has single handedly renovated this beautiful home and grounds for decades. That sweet couple saw an abandoned place (a land mark community hone) and knew they could fix it to nearly the original splendor. It is soooo worth spending the day there, and take advantage of the sweet little cafe. We just loved our lunch. The home was built with all the modern conveniences when indoor plumbing or electric were unheard of! It saw many different owners, including a doctor who turned the home into a hospital! It was even where the first hip surgery was ever done in the county. A must see!!!

Yelp
Our Gang of four made a reservation for Falcon Rest in McMinnville / Warren County TN. About 90 mins from Nashville. We were able to fit in with other group booking for Murder at the Mansion. Fee includes lunch, tour of the mansion, and walk of the grounds. The performance is geared for groups, and we were welcome with advanced booking. If not part of a group booking, monitor the website for availability. Everyone in the audience is assigned a role. Fun. And nothing too difficult. Lots of laughter. George and Charlien McGlothin have been owners of this private residence since 1993. They are also the performers during lunch, and are your tour guides with encyclopedic historic knowledge. Warm, passionate hosts. And bravo story-telling. If booking a show with lunch, allow 3 - 3 1/2 hours. If just touring and not part of show, allow 1 hour. Open Wednesday - Sunday Tip I: Trust your GPS. Yes, it is out of the way Tip II: Come for the performance and the tour. Lunch is okay. Tip III: If you are in the market for your garden, McMinnville is a nursery wonderland known as the "Nursery Capital of the World." You'll see mile after mile of thriving nurseries, both wholesale and retail.

Yelp
The tour was conducted by the owner. It was both informative and entertaining. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
If you are looking for something interesting to do in the area I 100% recommend Falcon Rest. I am a huge tea lover so I booked an afternoon tea and a tour of the mansion. The tea was average but it was fun so it was still enjoyable. The food was ok, my favorite were the sandwiches. I liked the local twist they put on it by having a sandwich with pimento cheese. The gift shop has thousands of interesting items, you could easily spend an hour looking around. No matter how long you take you are bound to find something special. The tour of the mansion was fun and it was neat to hear and see the history there. The mansion and property are beautiful and make for lovely photos. The owners are nice people and you can tell they love what they do.

Yelp
Wonderful wonderful experience! Worth the $12. If u check in to yelp beforehand, you can get $1 off an adult tour. No pictures allowed of the interior. As many pictures as you want of the gardens. Didn't have any expectations going in. Our tour guide was the southern gents wife and she was so knowledgeable about the history of the house and its occupants. The tour really came alive for us as she walked us through all of the rooms (it's bigger than it looks!) and in each room she told us the history of the room, the artifacts (some of which could be touched), and the people who used the room. The restoration project is so incredibly impressive! The husband&wife team are so sweet and excellent tour guides. A definite must see if in Mcminnville, TN!

Yelp
Awesome place to spend the night! My husband and I loved our room. It was decorated so well and felt cozy and clean. The owners were extremely nice and made a full, delicious breakfast for us in the morning. We chose to eat in the dining area, but were given the option of having it in our room. We only spent one night there, but I'd love to go back and spend the weekend some time. We didn't see any ghosts (oh, man!) but there's always next time...

Yelp
On our day off, we stopped for a tour here, just over an hour's drive from Nashville. We were lucky and had one of the owners as a tour guide since the regular tour guide was off (although I'm sure she is also excellent). The owners bought the place 25 years ago and have been restoring it since. The house is absolutely gorgeous, with the original staircase and woodwork, and is furnished with beautiful period furniture and decorations. As amazing as the house was, the stories we heard about the family and the house were the best part! The history of the Faulkner family and the home are fascinating, and the owners are incredibly well-informed about that era. The gardens are also very pretty. The house and gardens can also be used for weddings and other events, and it would be a great spot for that, particularly in nice weather when the courtyard could be used. We also spent time in the Victorian gift shop, which was unique and not over-priced (in contrast to most gift shops). They have a tea room as well where you can get lunch, but we didn't try it on this visit. If you're nearby, definitely drop by and check it out! The tour is about an hour, $12/adult, and well worth the money.

Yelp
My husband and I love old historical homes and learning of their history. The Falcons Rest mansion tour was so informative and the home is beautiful! The tour guide gave such insight and detail to the origins of the home and everything that happened since its being built. We would highly recommend this if you love historical home tours!

Yelp
Great stop while on a road trip! It was just 2 of us so we had a private tour. The family that owns the house gives the tours and they were very informative and friendly. The house and grounds are extremely well cared for. The mansion has an interesting history and made for a nice afternoon. Would definitely recommended stopping by!

Yelp
My husband & I retired from Southern, CA to Clarksville, TN. This was one of our Bucket List locations....AWESOME. We will be returning there hopefully soon!! We loved every minute we were there. The tour of the Mansion was so informative & the owners put so much love, sweat & tears into this amazing Mansion that is now as it should be. The grounds are freakin amazing. Just Beautiful. it was such a relaxing time!! My husband & I stayed in the Governors Mansion & had both our Dinner & Breakfast meals brought to us. The Food was FANTASTIC....the Gift Shop made me really happy...(not my husband because he got the bill...lol), but on a serious note. This is History that should not be missed. Go on the Tour & if you can, STAY THERE, relax, enjoy the food. You will not be disappointed!!!

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, nicely appointed cottage accommodations, however the highlight of our stay was the awesome breakfast Charlien prepared and served right on our cottage. The French Toast was moist & savory and the perfectly cooked omelet was chock full of delicious fillings, each attractively plated with a warm pastry, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee.

Yelp
A well kept secret and a wonderful stay. This is our second visit and the owners always make you feel at home.

Yelp
My wife and myself wanted a quick getaway just a couple hours from home. I decided to surprise my wife with a two Day stay at Falcon Rest in McMinnville, TN. The room was decorated in Victorian style and very clean. The staff was very nice and took care of anything we needed. We attended a Vaudeville show with lunch the next day with a tour of the 10,000 square foot mansion. If you are looking for a quick getaway and on a tight budget, try out this wonderful place.

Yelp
We had a great time here. Accommodations are nice and the people and food are top notch. We could not ask for nicer hosts. They were always helpful and concerned about our needs. The food was amazing. So good and breakfast was included in the stay. It was delivered at our requested time to our room at perfect temperature everyday. They were also very gracious about my needs as a vegetarian and were very kind about adjustments to the meals. We also took the tour and the guide was so good. She was informative and friendly and very interactive with us. Just a perfect stay all in all. We will be back.
