Falconeria Locarno

A beautiful show of various birds of prey flying within inches of the audience. It was entertaining as well as educational. It is clear that the handlers/trainers love these animals very much. If you'd like to see birds of prey flying up close this is a great place for that experience. If seeing animals in captivity is something that triggers you, then you may consider not going.

Beautiful show. Kids really enjoyed it. Birds are flying very close, sometimes next to you. If you want to get a chance that they put a bird on you - wear a cap. And be ready to take pictures - it is just few seconds. Kids can ride a pony after the show.

This is a wonderful place with people who love their work and nature. A great show with a beautiful program. Huge thanks for the positive emotions and the love for animals!

What a day. While initially a bit underwhelmed... the shows and set up were actually incredible. The staff are kind and engaging. The love for the animals is tangible

Amazing show. Learned a lot about the history of falconry, and enjoyed the birds from a very near distance (had one even on my head). Highly recommended half day trip! Also, the pizza in the bistro tasted fantastic and was very reasonably priced.

The show is really cool. Like you have the Hawks and Eagles literally flying cm over your head. The food is solid but not spectacular. Still: Definitely worth it!

Indeed many (large) birds flying around (some even over your head) during the show. Definitely worth attending. Note it can quite wet in case of rain as tents over tribunes don't do their job well.

Here for the 1-hour birds of prey show, which is the highlight. There are two shows daily: 11am and 3pm so be sure to plan your travel to the Falconeria accordingly. The falconers only speak in Italian and German. If you would like English, you can scan the QR Code at the ticket counter to access the website to hear English recordings. However, it is quite hard to click on the audio for the right birds that are presented as they are not in sequence. You get a very close view of the birds flying around, they basically swoop past above our heads at near distance. Side note: The falconer is so suave on the horse with the eagle.
