"Cafe by Day, Wine Bar by Night This quirky little place takes the concept of a laid-back wine bar to an extreme. A cafe during the day, it converts into a cozy wine bar in the evenings. Photo: Falernum"

We had a reservation prior to visiting and we were seated very fast. Unfortunately the tables are cramped together and the space is tiny. Even the waiters were struggling to serve. The tables are also small with very uncomfortable chairs. The atmosphere for a wine bar should be cozy but it wasn’t. However, the food and the wine pairings were absolutely amazing. The food was super delicious and they made sure to have a vegetarian course included. They also paired every meal with a great wine. The staff serving us were also very kind, they had attention to detail and they gave us a description of everything they served.

Still a great cozy place on Værnedamsvej. Vibe is good and food is absolutely decent with a good price performance. Too much natural wine for my taste.

Cute and cozy place. The tartar was really spot on and delicious. The charcuterie lacked a bit of condiments, but good quality cuts. Nice and relaxed service.

I went here for lunch on a quiet Sunday afternoon in Copenhagen. This place is located in one of the best streets of Copenhagen, filled with many France restaurants. The place offered a lunch menu with 4 servings for only 165DKK. We easily changed one of the dishes on the menu so we could try the burrata. Everything we had was tasteful and delicious. The salad with walnuts and red grape was a little tedious.

This has become one of my favourite dining spots in Copenhagen. The food is always super fresh, nicely presented and tasty. We had the set menu and the white asparagus was great! The wine selection is also really good. I had an Italian Rose which was lovely.

We loved the food and the wine, it was the perfect spot in the afternoon for a bit of refreshment. It isn’t particularly cheap but you get good quality food and drinks

Really good set menu and wine menu for a cozy evening dinner. Despite being understaffed (as with most restaurants in DK these days) service was excellent!

Yelp
Wonderful service by the staff. Family style, tapas food and plenty of it. We had a large coupon. Everyone was left very impressed.

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Falernum and I loved it. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. And the food... my dish of chicken with North Sea cheese foam, mushrooms, baked onions and haricots verts was perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine suggested by our server was perfect for the dish. I loved it and can't wait to dine there again.

Yelp
Went here for cava, dark'n'stormy and a glass of red wine. It was Friday evening and the place was jam-packed with a blend of locals and connoisseurs. Very pleasant and nice ambiance. I have not been around for years and we had a table reserved next door for dinner, but we'd definitely come back soon for dinner and wine.

Yelp
A hip wine joint, that wishes to have a good all-around vibe, needs to invest more in its culinary experience. Let's first talk about ambience. This small, cozy restaurant, is a divish social lagoon that struggles with identity. While being ecletic in its menu, it has the feel more of a hipster bar, that fills up with smoke with the windows being down. This doesn't help while trying to eat the food. Food quality: With a large wine list, this place lacks identity, and a variety of foods. While there is an eclectic mix of foods, the menu is small. After ordering the cheese plate, my wait staff did not know what cheeses were being served. That shows the level of importance of food here. For the risotto, the peas were undercooked. I'm unsure if this was intentional, but nevertheless, not very appealing.

Yelp
Oh, what a marvelous and marvelously bohemian place Falernum is. I felt like an extra in a French film as I sat by the table, eating a well-made steak sandwich, drank wine and talked about horror movies with a friend of mine. Okay, so maybe the last part isn't particularly French, but that's not Falernums fault. I blame myself for that strange love of mine. Let me dwell a little on the sandwich. Perfectly made. That's what it was. Underneath it all laid a slice of cheese that just made the whole thing better. I never knew steak sandwiches could be so fine! And the wine given to us by the waiter, well, it made all the sense in the world. Also, slyly watching the waiter drink wine while talking to customers just gave that extra French feel. What a little slice of Paris in here.

Yelp
There really isn't much to say about Falernum. It's the best winebar in Copenhagen by a landslide. The food is excellent, the wine selection is fantastic, and the ambiance is cozy and intimate, which is particularly appealing during the dark, cold winters, but also pretty great during the summer with the windows open and an opportunity to people-watch on one of Copenhagen's best streets. Gets crowded on weekend nights, so best to reserve if you want to stay for a whole evening.

Yelp
I would consider taking a 9 hour flight just to recreate this meal! After spending 4 days in Copenhagen and 14 venturing my way through restaurants in Scandinavia, this may just have been one of the best meals of the trip! This tiny wine bar is as European feeling as it gets. It maybe has 6 small tables, a few 2 person seats on the side, and a bar that maybe fits 8. 4 of us showed up a few before 7pm on a Thursday night and happened to maneuver our way to the bar. The menu was very limited, steak/asparagus/potatoes, a 2 kinds of tapas platter (hot and cold), soup of the day, and a cheese plate. We all chose the steak and were in HEAVEN. We also loved the wine selection. Since we weren't too sure about what to order, our group got a special wine tasting from Maria the bartended. So nice! The daily special and a glass of house wine ended up around $35 USD.

Yelp
People who know me would agree that I'm into gourmet living, and this little amazing gem of a wine bar on Vaernedamsvej fulfills all my secret - and not so secret - fantasies. A smallish place with an amazingly large and well stocked wine bar you'll find any wine you desire accompanied by excellent guidance. I have lost track of the numerous hours I've spent at this place chatting away and getting a well earned buzz. In the summer time, you can hang outside in a very French kind of way with red wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other, or you can cosy up inside nibbling on rustic food, cheese or tapas. All in all: true love.

Yelp
I'm going to go ahead and also call this a winebar, because it truly has a fantastic wine selection. In fact, the wine menu is at least ten pages, while they have a page for food. The atmosphere is great, and I think the service was on point overall. It is quite the cozy place (like everywhere else in Copenhagen) which was perfect to show my parents a taste of "hygge". The food: I ordered the lamb stew and roasted pumpkin risotto and I have to say that the food was good, but nothing mind-blowing. The stew had enough flavor, but was fairly boring as a whole. The risotto tasted very good, but I think they rushed it, as the rice was slightly undercooked. I tasted the beef tartar for the first time and I really liked it! I don't think I've adjusted to Copenhagen's price level just yet, but we also didn't get that much food for what we paid. But I'm not complaining because we had good food with good company and good service so I am confident with my four stars for this restaurant.

Yelp
The atmosphere is both hip and cozy. I only had wine but the bartender knew what he was talking about and gave me a sample to taste. This street was under construction but it will be even more adorable once the cobblestones are re-done. Like many places in Copenhagen, this street could become another cute neighborhood street.

Yelp
I'm consistently amazed every time I come to Falernum, and lately that's been at least once a week. Amazed firstly that wine can be so expensive, but also that the quality of the food and the awesome atmosphere makes you forget that so quickly. Service can be hit and miss, always opt for a day when either 3 staff are on, or make sure to sit at the bar.

Yelp
I was hesitant coming here because the reviews of the food tended to be lackluster, but this place is fantastic. Pricey, certainly, but really delicious. I ordered tapas and asked the waitress to pick the wine, and it was delightful. Certainly a cozy spot

Yelp
Spectacular tapas-style food, amazing atmosphere, and excellent service. A fairly limited menu, but all 6-ish things we ordered were amazing. Come, enjoy

Yelp
Great atmosphere, good food and efficient staff. They have an impressive selection of wines and seems to be possible to buy a bottle of your favorite wine to take home. Feels like a neighborhood restaurant that is prized by the locals.

Yelp
Very good food and excellent service from the one waitperson who was in there on a relatively slow afternoon. You can sit outside but not a lot of shade and the direct sun may be too much. Small menu with interesting dishes. Nice part of the city a bit removed from the tourist section.

Yelp
It is really late to come there ,I choose 89 ddk meat.It is no bad. The food has changed a lot.The picture in yelp is not true already. But it is good place that you can talk with friend and relax~

Yelp
My sister and I ate here in the past week, having just kind of stumbled across it and in a very hungry mood. We are both vegetarians, and they actually don't have a lot of veggie stuff on the menu, but the staff there was FANTASTIC and they prepared a few veggie dishes just for us that they whipped up in the kitchen. These dishes were so tasty and amazing, with great combinations of color, texture and flavor. The place was packed and loud, with lots of people obviously enjoying the the vibe, the wine, the food. It was our best meal in Copenhagen. The restaurant is located in a charming street in Vesterbro. Very highly recommended, and thanks so much to the wonderful waiter who helped us.

Yelp
There is a laid back bistro vibe to this small wine bar in the busy Værnedamsvej, separating Vesterbro from Frederiksberg. Its narrow locale revolving around the bar is crowded with people chatting at the bar or eating at the scarce tables. It's a great spot for an after work hours glass of wine, early night out or romantic dinner. The small plated dishes are delicious and so is the wine. Waiters are professionally personal, adding both just-in-time and empathy to the mix. Great place -
