We stayed at this hotel as part of our guided tour group. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's not a new property, but it's clean and comfortable. It's close to a grocer and more importantly, the sea. I must point out that the staff at this hotel were fantastic! They were helpful, courteous, and attentive. We asked for a hair dryer and kettle, and both were immediately brought to our room.

The stay in the off-season did not appeal to our family of 4 (with two sub 10 year-old daughters). The large outdoor pool and water slide are closed, and although the hotel is next to the sea, one doesn't;t really sense the sea from within the hotel. The concept is formulaic mass tourism, with buffet eating, where the quality of food and ingredients and overall design esthetic, cleanliness, etc leave much to be desired. There is a heated half indoor, half outdoor pool but it is not particularly appealing. There is a game arcade area operated by a third party where each game costs a euro or two. Our kids enjoyed the small indoor soft-play area for a while but enjoyment wore off quite quickly. In summary we payed a significant fee for an activities-inclusive resort experience, but few of the resort features where available due to the season, and the low esthetics and quality of design, rooms, meals and service approach left much to be desired. No reproach to the employees who were generally OK and trying their best, but the concept and overall approach just did not work for us.

We stayed a week at the end of August and are intending to go back next year (avoiding school holidays this time) as the location is fantastic for exploring the area and we loved the hotel.|Good points - great pool and bar area. Food - loads of choice even for a fussy eater! Snacks area provided good choice if required. Rooms - very nice and comfortable with bathrobes and slippers. We arrived at 01:30 and the hotel provided us with a cold meal in our room in case we were hungry which was a lovely touch. There is a mini fridge which, if AI, is filled with water, coke and orange each day. Great choice of drinks with AI - although as per most of Europe it is their own brand cola which isn’t all that nice! Good children’s club - we saw them doing numerous activities. Little beach with shallow water which was warm - point to note, take water shoes as it is very stony in the water. |Points for improvement - everyone ignored the beach towel on sunlounger policy so we sat in the bar area every day instead; hotel needs a policy that under 2’s wear a nappy in/around the pool area - not pleasant watching a child take a dump by the pool, or in the reception area! Air con in our room was not very good; evening entertainment was hit and miss; reception could do with holding a map of Zadar (we got one from Tourist information in the old town); bar staff/cleaners need to be more vigilant as there was a lot of broken glass in the bar area; needs lighting at night in bar area - totally dark so couldn’t even play cards; bar staff to be better trained on how to work a bar - don’t just serve the person in front of you and ignore those around who have been waiting longer.

If you want to go on holiday, eat delicious food, enjoy nature and keep your children busy, then this is the place for you! Special thanks to the animators, they know and love their job! We liked it in winter, I think it's even better in summer! I recommend it!

We had a great time with our little 2 years old son. Great stuff for both children and grown ups. Super nice and gentle staff, delicious food, beautiful see and beach. Guys from Kids Animation department were amazing, playing with children as they would have been their own! :)

I stayed at Falkensteiner borik first weekend in January with my husband and friends. It was a mixed experience. The rooms were nice (we got a room in the renovated part) and clean, all inclusive deal was good, food and drinks were very goodn overall atmosphere was very good, staff was great. I had a situation with my booked massage (so did my friend, to less extent) which ended up with a lot of work and frustration on my end but I have to say that the staff went above and beyond to make me happy in the end. Martina in the reservation department was nice, helpful when helping me find a room. Monika at the reception was great and perceptive, she knew we were waiting for the room and made sure we got it as soon as it was ready! Anita in spa was fair and helped out when the massage booking situation happened, I appreciated her help. Antonela was one of the best massages I ever got! Doria was very helpful when the whole situation occurred and she really worked with me to find a mutual solution that would make me happy. Although my experience was not perfect and I wish I could have skipped the complications I could tell that the hotel cared and moving forward will try that a situation like this doesn’t happen again. Because of that I hope to go back for another stay and massage.

ideal hotel for families with children. a beautiful, large and clean children's club. a professional animation team that is super organized. our children experienced something new, fun and educational with them every day. thank you for a great experience, dear yasmin, marcela and others. The food was great, the staff very nice, the rooms as in the photos, but little small. I would welcome a water heater in the room. when the weather cooled down a bit (we were there the first week of September 2), they started heating the pool. more attractions in the pool would please even smaller children. the only thing I didn't like was the beach and the sea, since there is sand it is muddier, but a little further on there is a pebble beach.

Unfortunately, our stay at Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik did not meet our expectations and left us with many negative impressions. We spent several days of our holiday confined to our hotel room due to stomach issues – we ate exclusively at the hotel restaurant, which clearly indicates that the problem originated there. Food: One of the biggest disappointments was the quality of the food. We relied solely on the hotel’s dining services, and the meals were monotonous, tasteless, and under-seasoned – as if they were prepared specifically for young children. The coffee was undrinkable, the drinks were watered down, and the quality of most of the snacks at the snack bar was terrible – the salads looked like they were made from kitchen leftovers. On several occasions, the hot water for tea had a strange taste, which suggested that the dishes weren’t properly cleaned. Gluten-free food: When searching for our vacation, I specifically chose this hotel because it advertised the ability to provide gluten-free meals, which was crucial due to my dietary needs. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. Throughout our stay, the only gluten-free option was one type of bread and a toaster reserved for it. To make matters worse, I witnessed a child licking the serving spoon in the restaurant and putting it back in the same place. I believe the staff should pay more attention to such situations to ensure proper hygiene standards. Staff: The only positive aspect of our stay was the friendly and helpful staff. The service was polite and tried to assist us, but it couldn’t make up for the shortcomings in other areas. Conclusion: Despite the friendly service, our stay at Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik was very disappointing. The food quality was low, and the health issues ruined part of our holiday. We ate exclusively at the hotel, and the lack of proper hygiene made our experience even worse. The hotel rooms were fine, and the location was also good. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.
