Falkland Palace & Garden (National Trust for Scotland)

Went on a Sunday - St. Andrews day Most shops were open. Nice little place, can cover it in about 30mins. Stay and take in the place with a cuppa and snack from a couple of bakers in the area. Everyone very pleasant. Just say hello to everyone. Most are happy enough to chat. I would recommend it for a stroll or relaxed afternoon for a few hours if that.

Amazing palace and the volunteers and the knowledge they share is fascinating. To see Mary Queen of Scots dress close up I loved, along with her bed, it's small! The grounds are gorgeous and lots of beautiful photo opportunities. The village is beautiful as well and everyone so friendly and welcoming

A wonderful place to visit. A stunning building with many very knowledgeable staff on hand to tell you the history of the many rooms. The palace is very well preserved. Once you have walked round the palace the grounds are a must as well, with the world's oldest tennis court which is still used to this day, to the orchard and foundations of the original castle. A fabulous day out with a nice gift shop at the end.

Enjoyable day, a lot to see. Carpark not on premises, no cafe but lovely places nearby. Splendid rooms in the palace. Pleasant grounds to explore including the olest tennis court in the world.

Gradually getting around the castles with my NTS card,free entry yay. Well worth a visit with a lot of history. Plenty informed guides to tell all about the rooms . The gardens are very nice ,so is the tennis court. Highlander was filmed here and you can see why as the little lanes and closes don't look they have changed over the years.

Really enjoyed our visit to Falkland Palace! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the place itself is beautiful and full of history. The grounds are quite large. We didn’t manage to see the whole garden this time, but we loved what we saw. Definitely planning to come back for another visit!

A picturesque town in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland, famous for its royal palace and the film location for the first two series of "Outlander". It's particularly beautiful to visit in the autumn given the stunning colours!

Falkland Palace & Garden is a beautifully preserved historic site with rich royal history, peaceful gardens, and stunning Renaissance architecture. Amy is an excellent storyteller, giving us an engaging overview that linked Falkland to other Scottish castles and brought everything to life.

Falkland Palace was once the favoured retreat of Stuart Kings and Queens and boast visitors such as Mary Queen of Scots. We visited thePalace on an open day which was a bonus as entry was free. However it was well worth the visit and we would not have minded an admission charge. There are some grounds to visit but the main house itself is in good repair with rooms decorated in a period manner which gives an excellent historic overview of what life was like. On the day we visited there were guides dressed in period costumes giving talks in many of the rooms. There was also additional activities in the grounds for children. I found the palace very interesting and intriguing again you could make more of a day of it if you take a picnic. I would also recommend looking out for an open day (free entry is always good) or when additional activities are arranged as it give a full day experience.

beautiful place to visit in abeautiful little town unfortunatly the palace gardens are mega expensive to visit and it can be difficult to navigate the driving through the narrow streets up to the palce but thats part of the fun
