Fallen Angel, Mousehole, Cornwall - Explore & Book

"The pretty fishing village of Mousehole is packed with traditional stone fishermen’s cottages, so when I first saw Fallen Angel, I must admit I was surprised to find an angular, black, rubber-clad structure spilling down among Zen gardens. Surprised, but utterly converted. Its distinctive wetsuit-like skin feels like a modern take on coastal architecture, reminding me of Suffolk’s classic black fisherman's huts. This romantic one-bedroom cottage occupies a steep plot overlooking the harbour. With the help of some clever architects and a lot of manual labour, owners Mark and Jane have created a cool, modern hideaway. From the moment we stepped through the huge wooden gate (originally the door to a Moroccan village) we felt transported to the Med. Dotted with succulents, palms and lavender, the exquisitely landscaped garden led us up to the front door. Inside, traditional North African ornaments mingle with contemporary features: an egg-shaped wood-burner, a Sonos sound system, a freestanding steel bathtub, and stunning commissioned art work. Huge picture windows gaze over the picturesque rooftops of Mousehole; a charming corner of Cornwall, replete with tempting restaurants, shops and galleries. While you're here, venture a little further to explore St Ives, Penzance, Porthcurno Beach and Sennen Cove. Highs A wonderfully spacious bolthole for 2 with spectacular views and a big garden – perfect for a honeymoon or special occasion Secluded and private, yet within a minutes’ walk of charming Mousehole’s pretty harbourA great kitchen with all the utensils you could possibly need, plus hampers and chef-made meals on requestExtremely comfortable bed and a decadent freestanding tub with sea viewsThe owners know Cornwall inside out, and can advise and book everything from foraging tours to surf lessons to luxury hampers Lows It may look pricey for a 1-bedroom rental, but this is a truly luxurious and unique place to stay: worth every pennyNo designated parking areaThough carefully designed to maximise privacy (and not closely overlooked), some may find the bathtub and shower a little exposed - electric blinds helpNo indoor dining table, although there are comfy seats around the kitchen island, plus outdoor tables and chairsA steep access lane and indoor staircases" - Ben Feetham

Very relaxed atmosphere, good music and Richard was excellent. Lovely decor and stylish. Very friendly and helpful. Went back two nights because of the friendly atmosphere. Definitely be going back when we visit Brighton again. Superb host.

Stayed nearby and came in for a little evening atmosphere. The bartender, Richard, is one of a kind. Huge personality that kept the place under control with a lovely blend of humour and sheer tenacity and determination. Having worked in the service industry my whole life, it was awesome to see him be both lovely and a complete badass behind the bar. Can't recommend this place enough. Tell Richard we say hello!

Dropped in with friends whilst visiting Brighton. Greeted by friendly barman who was very helpful with choosing different gins to try. Found a cosy spot by the log fire. Just what we needed after a brisk walk on the beach!

Loved this intimate and charming bar. When we arrived there was no onevin the place, but within 30 minutes the place waa packed and buzzing. Friendly guy on the bar who chatted to us while the bar was quiet. Cocktails are a speciality but we tried the Brighton Gin, which was lovely.

Great bar very friendly staff - Step up to entrance and very narrow doorway, no disabled toilet. 4/10 for accessibility. Beautiful décor and really good drinks. Please go and support your local LGBTQ+ Bars!

What a find! The service was super, the cocktails were freshly prepared, well priced and tasted great. The building itself is worth a trip too, and we loved the decor. Definitely a 5* venue for some evening drinks.

Just had a quick visit here but it was lovely! Wide selection of cocktails and all of them looked delicious - mine certainly was! Service was friendly and hospitable... Richard said not to mention him if I did a review but I'm doing it anyway because he was the bestttt :)
