This Country Was Named the Best 'Nature Destination' in the Caribbean

"St. Vincent is known for its plethora of waterfalls. A visit to the country should definitely include a visit to such iconic falls as the Falls of Baleine (a remote waterfall that dumps into a freshwater pool)." - Hannah Selinger Hannah Selinger Hannah Selinger is a James Beard Award-nominated lifestyle writer based in Boxford, Massachusetts.  Travel + Leisure Editorial Guidelines

Beautiful falls with an adventure attached. You can only get there by boat and then you have to walk and swim in parts to get to the falls. Water shoes will save your feet from the sharp volcanic rock! Well worth the effort. We used Alex tours (boat) and he was a great guide.

I think this is one of the best kept secrets in St. Vincent. Many people do not go because it is extremely difficult to get to. You cannot go here unless you tour guide and use a boat. The water can be quite rough so be careful I would not recommend going there in the rainy season because the water I know will be roughest and the river will be strong however in the dry season, I think it’s the best time to go and that’s when I went but on your next Vincent, I think you should definitely go.

A must visit waterfall with great views of the volcano along the way.

The topography, the water, everything was gorgeous, just needs some minor aesthetic and maneuverability additions. The island and it's tourism board has a wealth of opportunity for greatness, but the potential is not being realised.

I really cannot rate this anything less than 5 stars being the experience it was, absolutely beautiful. As for the experience, unforgettable. Me thinking the sea was cold then realized the waterfall was a legit ice bath made returning to the beach feel like a hot tub. A word of notice, we were met with a notice saying "Site closed". I would guess this is mainly due to the jetty being completely destroyed, so the only way to shore is getting into the water given that the conditions allow. High winds will yield waves making it tricking for boats to get close enough to shore for disembarking. Unless you're lucky to have a boat that can be beached, then you'll be alright.

went there by boat on an excursion from a cruise ship. After a spirited swim from the boat we swam in the volcanic spill over pond. I will never forget it . Wonderful!!
