We went for dinner last night while staying nearby visiting friends. This was the second time we had dinner at the restaurant; once again it was absolutely incredible! My husband had the duck leg special and I had the ribeye steak. Everything about our meal was amazing! Service was absolutely perfect. Colin was our waiter and Abby was our bartender. Dom the chef even came out to say hello and told us all about how he made the duck special. All around a wonderful evening. We can’t wait to go again.

We Just spent the weekend at the Falls Village Inn and could not have had a better time. The Room was clean, bright and cheery, great heat, the Bathroom was large for such and old building. The food and drinks were very good and the Innkeeper was very nice. If you are looking for a great place to stay that isn't too far from the sites to see, I would highly recommend this place.

We only ate there but the staff was great and the food & drinks were equally superb.

Beautiful location. We arrived early and never the less the owner kindly checked us in. The rooms were lovely and the beds incredibly comfortable and big! We had a major issue with our car and car hire companies response which essentially left us stranded - they went out of their way to help by giving us a lift to the airport; incredibly kind. We had an evening meal and the place was packed! A great vibe. Service was attentive and prompt. Food was as delicious as were cocktails 😍. Thanks for a memorable visit!

We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night after playing golf in the Berkshires. A nice old style in with a great bar. New outdoor patio was very busy for a Monday night. Great place if you’re out in the North West corner of Ct. This restaurant is very close to the lime rock race track

We had a birthday reservation for ten people on Burger Night. There were small containers (wine bottles with stoppers) of warm water on the table, but when our waitress finally came to greet us, it took what felt like an hour to receive our drinks. After almost another hour to get our food (mind you, we only ordered burgers and fries), the medium-sized burgers were okay...many at the table complained they were over-cooked...and the bacon on mine was like leather. We barely saw our waitress, and she never asked if everything was alright with us. Luckily, I knew I would need more catsup, as my burger arrived, so got some extra on her next trip out. Needless-to-say, my brother-in-law and nephew were thirsty for more beer, and took it upon themselves to head to the bar. They came back commenting how the bartender made it clear how she had been inconvenienced. I had been to the Inn on a few other occasions, since its new ownership. I was unimpressed and shocked by their prices. Even though Burger Night seemed like a reasonable deal (the burger was just okay, but the fries were pretty good), the service was a real downer. The owner needs to hire more wait staff, a more efficient cook, and either an extra bartender, or one that can pour beer faster, lol.

Stopped in for a beer and a snack since I love the cozy relaxed ambiance of this place, and I hadn't been here in a long time. Shocked when we got the bill to see that the beers were $10 each. Yikes! And despite a lineup of about 6 craft and local brews, many of them were mediocre breweries and there weren't many appealing options. Get some Great Falls on tap! The calamari were good, though I prefer a traditional batter...These seemed to be cornmeal-dusted. Will come again to try burgers / dinner.

My husband and I just spent the weekend. We needed a spur of the moment get away and it was just perfect. We were welcomed by the owner Sue Sweetapple and she couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. The room decor was in New England Country style and comfortable. We had dinner in the tap room. We started with tasty cocktails and had ordered the duck breast and the chicken respectively. Dinner was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. I'm still dreaming about the chocolate creme brûlée for dessert. Highly recommend both the accommodations and the food.

Yelp
Service was on point, food was good. I loved the atmosphere from the cozy tables in snug corners with beautiful greenery strategically placed to give you that personal and private dining experience while offering a pleasant crowd...

Yelp
This is a small business run by the owner, she works there almost 7 nights a week and when she's not there bartending or helping her staff she is doing many things behind the scenes that people don't even realize. She is a smart/ savvy business woman with a wonderful attitude! She goes above and beyond for her customers, hotel guests & staff!! I've seen/heard of people leaving items in the rooms that they've stayed in and she ships them out to them for free the very next day without ever expecting anything in return. I've never seen a hotel do that before usually they'll make you come and pick it up or pay for those extra services because they are not making money off of that and it is taking up their time. She does her best to complete any request that any person staying there or eating there has. I also know she bought this place when it was abandoned and renovated it from the ground up and participated in that with her own bare hands. She even managed to survive through the pandemic and has built a beautiful patio because of that, so people could still dine in while being safe! I've also seen businesses around the area steal her ideas and try to bring her down and it's not hard to see that it's out of jealousy. Very disappointing since this is a small town and all the owner has done is made the town even more beautiful with her gardens, renovations, new patio, new driveway & new walkway. And I've heard there is more to come! The food is amazing and the drinks are off the charts. Whether it's the owner bartending or someone else they always give you generous pours of wine and mixed drinks! The kitchen staff is always creating wonderful specials & the wait staff is always so polite and a pleasure! I've seen them run after people who have forgotten articles of clothing while they are so busy and again do not expect or get anything in return just out of the kindness of their hearts. This place has a following for a reason and it's because of all the wonderful people that work there and the amazing food! I would give this place 10 stars

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner. We sat in the bar area in a tucked away table. It was a lively atmosphere but not too loud. I had the salmon and my husband had the beef and broccoli special. Both dishes were prepared well and very flavorful. The drinks were generous and we really enjoyed the chocolate dessert and the apple crumble. Service was prompt and friendly. Will def be back next time we come up for the weekend.

Yelp
Restaurant and Bar, yes. Inn, NO. The restaurant and bar are lively, with good food, a nice old classic bar, and outdoor seating - all at a reasonable price. The lodging on the other hand is priced about 3x what it should be. The bedrooms and bathrooms are "quirky", which is what you might expect from an old historic building. But they are mostly a bad, low quality quirky. The inn was clearly renovated on the cheap. And there were spiderwebs everywhere. I would be fine with it a a much, much lower price point. At nearly $300/night, they should be ashamed.

Yelp
Three of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner and each enjoyed our meals; lobster roll, steak and the fish special paired with a delicious red wine and sweets after. Great food, ambience and charm. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Used to LOVE this establishment. Decor is falling apart--wood slat screen room divider is in disarray and very unsightly to look at in the main dining room. When ordering at 6:30 pm on a Saturday, it was brought to our attention that one entree and one appetizer was no longer available. Menu is scant as it is so this was disappointing. Bread was small dry and had no flavor. Butter had a freezer burn taste. We overheard the one other table in the room being offered the last creme brûlée. Didn't make sense. The paintings on the wall were unattractive. Fireplace nit being used and defunct/decorative use only was sad. Outside balcony was in serious disrepair and in need of immediate attention. Flank Steak, Chicken and Pork were all lacksluster in flavor and incredible small portions. WillmNOT be retiring anytime soon as there is nothing to commend.

Edward R.

Yelp
This is a congenial restaurant with very good food. There is a racing theme here, as it is a popular stop for race fans after races at Lime Rock Park. The burgers are great, with your choice of condiments and additions.

Yelp
We came here for their Mother's Day Inn, which they had a special menu for (a surprise!). It was bursting with patrons, so we were seated quickly in the dinning room and the noise level was minimal. The temperature was a little stuff, but the rapid approach of summer surprises us all. The special menu had no appetizers; there was just soup, salad, and entrees. Prices were between $20-$25 for the entrees. The server was really nice, answered all questions and kept the water pitchers coming. They were also quick to refill the bread baskets, which had thin, toasted bread with an "everything" bagel topping. Mother and I each had a gazpacho - She assured me it was very good, I had never had one before but enjoyed it. My lamb lollipops with honey balsamic were a touch fatty, and rosemary smashed potatoes and roasted asparagus a little overly seasoned for me. However, the cook was perfect and a plate-cleaning experience. One night we'll have to come back to check out their regular menu! Finally, the bathroom was amazing. It was huge, very clean, and felt like you were in someone's house instead of a generic little water closet at a restaurant. (FYI - It's located in the main dining room behind the wood panels on the left. It's opposite the kitchen doors so approach with some caution!)

Yelp
DONT GO HERE: we waited over an hour for our food to come out. The food was cold and did not taste good. The portions were tiny for the expensive price. We left hungry and dissatisfied.

Yelp
Went for drinks and appetizers. We decided to go with the buffalo cauliflower and fried calamari. The cauliflower had freezer taste, minimal buffalo sauce and a weird batter. The fried calamari wasn't the worst I've had but It wasn't very crispy. My friend enjoyed her IPA. The wine was good as well. The prices were what you would expect for the area.

Yelp
It is very hard not to have one positive thing to say about a restaurant...we waited 20 minutes for a cocktail....needless to say dinner took 1 hour and three quarters. Leg of lamb was rack of lamb...our table was located next to the porch door....for want of nothing better to do while waiting, we kept track over 200 ins and outs. (At least the butcher paper tablecloth was handy). After waiting for the check, we wrote our billing info on tablecloth but at the last minute, we snagged our waitress, Nicky, who brought it to us...ok...Nicky was a nice woman who apologized profusely during dinner for all the delays.... Will never return here!

Yelp
The experience was disappointing for the price ($300). I would expect bottled water in the room, an ice bucket, and maybe a cup of coffee in the morning but it was not to be. The room was just OK nothing special. The inn is across the street from a package store and a garage. That's it nothing else. I don't recommend this hotel. There are other hotels close by with better rates that offer breakfast in the a.m. I understand the restaurant is good but the accommodations were not worth the price.

Yelp
After a Sunday afternoon Music Mountain concert, we decided to have dinner here for the first time. It's a lovely inn with 3 dining areas that have been nicely updated -- without loosing their original charm. We were given a choice of the main room, bar room or the outside porch. I had a salad and then a yummy, fresh lobster roll on a perfectly toasted bun. My wife had a perfectly grilled piece of salmon. Our waitress was lovely and knew the menu very well. Prices are pretty much average for good, clean food. We will definitely eat here again after our next Music Mt. Sunday afternoon concert.

Yelp
This place is the absolute best. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful and the waitstaff and innkeeper are just the sweetest people. This place is an absolute must if you're anywhere near the area. Ps: I highly recommend the buffalo chicken wings appetizer, the fish and chips, the salmon, and the duck and chorizo ziti. All of these were absolutely outstanding. Dessert was also incredible!

Yelp
WOW. Last night we enjoyed such a delicious dinner. I am still thinking about how delicious it was! Unbelievably fantastic. Me: (vegetarian) mushroom ravioli My sister (wheat/soy/dairy free): duck special My nephew (picky 7 year old): Mac & cheese Thank you! I'll be back soon!

Yelp
I need to clarify that this review is for the INN and not for the restaurant. I stand by my review in 2013, and I had another exceptional experience in the dining room on Thanksgiving Day. The place itself was beautifully decorated and the restaurant was wonderful, but the lack of service was appalling. Here's what happened: We booked a mini-getaway on Thanksgiving, and enjoyed a delicious meal before checking in. We sat on the edge of the king-sized bed to FaceTime with family back home, and the bed caved in. We lifted up the box springs and found that the cross supports underneath were bent and not in place. We tried to hold up the bed and fix the frame, but it was just too bent for two people to repair with no tools and with one person holding up a king-sized mattress and the two twin box springs. We went downstairs and told the manager about the situation. (Note: She knew we had just spent over $200 for the prix fixe dinner in the dining room.) There was no "I'm sorry..." There was no "Let me get you a round of drinks," or, better yet, "Let me take something off your bill." "Maybe you should take a look at it?" we suggested. She sort of shrugged and said "there's nobody here to look at it - it's Thanksgiving Day." "Okay," we said, "just move us to another room." "We're fully booked," she said. We mulled over our options. Pay $260 to sleep in a broken bed and be angry about the lack of concern or customer service, or drive 1 hour home. We decided to leave and the manager said "OK, we'll issue a refund." Again, not one single "sorry" was uttered.

Yelp
A group of us went for dinner on a busy night. We were glad to get seated in the smaller of the two dining rooms because it was freezing cold and there was a nice fireplace in that room. However, as soon as we sat, we were told they had to turn it off. So we spent the dinner in an old, drafty, cold room and when we asked that they turn it back on, we were told that only one person knew how to do it and she'd be over. Of course, that never happened. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage but was told they had no lemonade or iced tea, only soda. As a pregnant, woman I had no options except water I guess. We asked for a description of one of the salad dressings and the waitress told us she had never had that salad so she couldn't tell us. Because of that, I ordered that salad with Italian dressing (thought I'd play it safe) but was told they didn't have that either. When our main meals came (a LONG time later) at least one of the burgers was overdone. That wasn't too surprising, however, because we heard the table next to us reviewing their meals to the server saying that their steaks were "over cooked as usual". It's a shame there are so few places to choose from around this area and that the few that do exist just encourage you to stay home and make your own dinner.

Yelp
Music mountain offers a combination dinner and performance for $70. Absolutely, absolutely pass up. They tell you to be at dinner at five and the performance was at 6:30. The restaurant is incapable of serving you dinner and getting you out on time even after complaining the waitress. After gobbling down very mediocre food of a salad, piece of fish or chicken we were unable to get dessert or our check. When I complained to the owner who was behind the bar she chastised me for complaining in front of a customer (the customer came up and told me I was absolutely right). A mad drive to Music Mountain, we arrived at 6;30 and had terrible seats and left at intermission. Many other people that were eating at the restaurant came up to me and told me they were having a similar experience.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were there this past Thanksgiving for a two-day stay. We had a lovely time -- faraway and quiet -- except for the following. In the morning, the inn offered nothing: no coffee, no tea, not a bite to eat. My guy had to go out, in the most bitter weather, to get us a couple cups of coffee and a bit of breakfast. What goes on here!!! Dinner was delicious on both nights there, but, given that, why couldn't that renowned kitchen offer something in the morning!! We would go back only if they changed their morning protocol. Otherwise, no. Nice accommodations, but nothing special. Not for the price. I would welcome other guests' comments about the lack of breakfast.

Yelp
Shame on You for Taking Advantage of People During the Pandemic! It is hard to believe that The Falls Village Inn charged me a $50 cancellation processing fee for cancelling my reservation because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite calls and an email to the owner requesting this fee be waived, they are still keeping this $50 cancellation fee. This is just not right when all airlines and hotels are not charging cancellation fees to their guests during the pandemic. I am 75 years old with underlying conditions and the target demographic who was told to stay home. Therefore, I refuse to travel and put myself and others at great risk. Regardless of their policy instituting this cancellation processing fee, they should do the right thing and refund me the $50 cancellation fee. It should be noted that The Falls Village Inn is able to recoup lost business due to cancellations such as mine from relief funds that the federal government has now made available to small businesses affected by the pandemic.

Yelp
Admittedly, I have fond childhood memories of what the Falls Village Inn was circa 1992; as an old friend's mother managed at the time, I recall sitting in a converted bedroom on the second floor, eating freshly fried mozzarella sticks and watching "Roundhouse" on SNICK. As for the food back then? Who cares? I was in 2nd grade and I could go downstairs and get free refills of Sprite from the bar whenever I wanted! After a handful of renovations and reimaginings, the Falls Village Inn has come into what it is currently. For the area, based on the brunch menu, I was impressed by their eclectic menu! Along with your basic dishes such as waffles and pancakes, the menu was graced with choices such as fish tacos and multi-colored quinoa with mango. The inside was simply, tastefully decorated with many photos and homages to the Canaan and Falls Village of yesteryear. And the drink menu? New York - style cocktails to cater to the New York crowd, indeed. I partook in the waffle for brunch, which was coupled with a small array of watermelon slices, strawberries, and orange slices on the side, along with authentic maple syrup. The waffle? Plentiful but too dry for my liking. My parents had Eggs Benedict along with potato-tomato au gratin. This combination was MIND BLOWING. Though the potatoes were a triffle underdone, the flavor combination was absolutely subpurb. I could have consumed an entire plate of just that, shamelessly licking the sauce off of the plate afterwards. An eclectic (by Northwest Corner of CT standards) menu with above-average food; my waffle wasn't the best, but the other food was of good quality. I certainly look forward to going back to try their other options. My age has changed, and I'm looking forward to eating more than mozzarella sticks like I used to! (Though perhaps a few may be tasty, for ol' times sake...)

Yelp
This is a super place, a real treat to find in a very quiet country village. I've known the place through several owners, and the current ones have made what had never in my experience anything better than ordinary country inn into my favorite place to dine out around here. The bar is friendly -- I've yet to encounter any attitude there. The restaurant occasionally borders on greatness, which is definitely not something you expect to find in the country. Okay, maybe it wouldn't get five stars from me in Manhattan, but here it does. The menu changes seasonally, and they have their act together as far as what's on it and furthermore, it's really consistent. I've eaten here a bunch of times, and the worst dish I've had was still way above average. Because we live in the area, I've not checked out the rooms.

Yelp
Having eaten at FVI 3 or 4 times now, we have always had a good meal. We arrived one half hour before the brunch was to end yesterday and found our waitress to be in a bit of a fog. I guess they had been busy. This not usually the case in past visits. I had the delicious hash with an egg but the accompanying potato/tomato concoction seemed like they scraped it off the bottom of the pan. My fellow diner ordered a caesar salad that came without the grilled chicken as stated on the menu...it was brought out later but altho' tasty was over cooked. I had to ask for another glass of wine. Then we were disappointed that the dessert we choose, crepes, were gone. I think that the timing was off for the whole meal because on other occasions we have had a great experience and food...so i hope it was just an off time. The inn is lovely and we will give it another try in the future.

Yelp
Excellent is the best I can say and what a nice surprise thanks to finding out about it on Yelp this Sunday morning when searching for Sunday Brunch. As locals we consider this a real find. From the start when our server Susan met us at the front door to seat us, her service was as warm and welcoming as we could expect. We were lucky to be the first to arrive and had a choice corner veranda table with a view and cool summer breeze. The cellist and guitarist played old standards the whole time we were there and were so soothed by it we felt like checking in for a nap. The corn chowder starter was delicious and the poblano cheddar omelet we added bacon to was bursting with flavor. The (plantain) banana and chocolate pancakes were a perfect finish -dripping with real maple syrup. Portions were as appropriate and satisfying as the prices. This was a perfect start to a relaxing Sunday country outing that we will look forward to doing again soon.

Yelp
We stopped by after a flight into Hartford. The drive from the airport on the country roads was lovely. The Inn has a small, but delicious menu and there is something to fulfill any craving. I had the roasted chicken stuffed with Brie and pears, served with mashed potatoes and spinach. My husband had the Bridge Burger. Both of our meals were cooked perfectly and were absolutely delicious. We were tempted to try one of their desserts, but far too full to take one on. Our server, Olivia, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We had dinner out on their covered porch and afterwards moved to their tavern where we enjoyed a few cocktails before heading out. Karen was our bartender and was friendly and gave a generous pour. We have since been back to enjoy apps (calamari and buffalo cauliflower) and a few more cocktails. Sue was tending bar on our second visit. She was a lot of fun and as the Innkeeper, you can tell she loves what she does. The Inn is very quaint and a great place to stop and enjoy dinner and a few cocktails. If you go, make sure to ask for Olivia.

Yelp
We are sitting outside on the veranda telling Liz what we want for dinner. She is a delightful young woman and adds to the charm of this place. Everyone here is charming. It's difficult ordering here, though, because the food is so consistently fabulous. Last weekend I had a salmon special that totally changed my mind about salmon. The week before we ordered the cod. Our friends ordered the steak, hamburger, a shrimp dish and then someone ordered a Mac and Cheese with Lobster. It was all really wonderful. We have been coming here for a few years and the food has always been very special. But lately it is out of sight. You should come here. The bar is fun, too.

Yelp
Too tired to bust out dinner on a Thursday night...I wish I could walk here - we desperately need a place like this West Cornwall (if any chefs or restauranteers are reading this!!). We got seated quickly and orders were taken and delivered. We shared calamari - needed a touch more seasoning, but crispy and melt in your mouth good. I had the salmon special with a brown sugar glaze - terrific. The quinoa blend was buttery and a perfect compliment to the salmon. Didn't quite understand the kale chips - it was kind of oven roasted kale...tasty though. Maybe I was too tired to get it. Burgers and fries - which everyone liked...cooked perfectly and fries were saltily sublime. Desserts looked good, but we were stuffed. Next time.

Yelp
Hubs and I went for a little mid week get away last week. The Falls Village Inn was perfect! Beautiful rooms, lovely and charming touches, not stuffy. We ate in the restaurant at the Inn both nights and our meals were delicious . Our sweet waitress, Claire, was full of personality and very attentive. Had a few cocktails at the lively and fun bar after dinner. The innkeeper ( and bartender ) , Sue, was great and very accommodating . We enjoyed some good conversation with her and some locals . The best part was just going right upstairs to our cozy rooms after a nice evening. Lots of quaint little towns to explore in the area makes for a great little get away. Looking forward to returning to the Inn!

Yelp
Love this place. It's beautiful, food is excellent, and the service friendly and accommodating. Nice big yard where my kid can run around. Get the Bang Bang Shrimp (listed as an appetizer, but enough for me for lunch), it reminds me of the scrumptious Rock Shrimp with Something Spicy Sauce from Nobu back in the day. Craving it now!

Yelp
The much ballyhooed makeover of this place hasn't yet migrated to the dining room, but they are just getting going, so I guess they deserve a break. Service is a little raggedy. A reservation made Monday for a Saturday dinner obviously didn't make it to the book by Saturday night, but they were very gracious and were able to quickly accommodate. The menu is nothing particularly noteworthy, either in selection or execution--decent steak, crabcakes OK. (Had the same issue with the asiago appetizer as the earlier yelp reviewer.) Dining room decor needs a real lift, starting with the white Walmart mini-blinds. (Come back Bunny Williams). Be happy to try again, but they have some work to do. Right now, I would say best bet is burger and beer in the bar.

Yelp
Great food and great service tonight. Probably our 10th visit here for dinner. It was a little slow and sometimes that can be a recipe for slow understaffed service, but this was not the case. Smallish menu with nice variety and everyone at my table was very content. We ate in the tap room which was a warm comfortable space. Definitely returning.

Yelp
As I stated in my previous review, the FVI is always good value for money. This time the Mrs. and I went up with the kids, and we had a great time (as per our usual). On this particular weekend, the town held their annual car show, so we had a wonderful opportunity to see some classics on display. This of course, was after an exceptional brunch at the Inn. Blueberry pancakes, eggs benedict, cinnamon french toast - all prepared to yummy perfection. Lunch and dinner the day before was equally as satisfying. When you stay at the Inn you are guaranteed 3 things: to eat/drink well, to sleep well, and to decompress from the stress of city life. It's a wonderful slice of CT charm. One of my favorite places to be.

Yelp
The Falls Village Inn is an out of the way gem. My girlfriend and me will frequently stop in on a Saturday or Sunday for lunch and a beverage. Always a good experience.

Yelp
Love this place!!!! Wonderful friendly service, always great food from a constantly changing menu. The bar room is dark and cozy, decorated with lots of racing art as befitting the close proximity and relationship with Lime Rock Park. Dining on the expansive side porch is a true pleasure in season, as are drinks on the front porch. Not stuffy but fine , a great place to see the locals and high tone summer folks happily rub elbows.Love the FVI and have never been disappointed . A great piece of gracious Ct countryside.

Yelp
Sat in the pub section. I had the pasta with shrimp and the shrimp were a great size and very tasty. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Yelp
Great quiet town vibe, comfortable accommodations, good food and friendly people. We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Awesome New Years Eve at Falls Village Inn. Fantastic 4 course meal and great company. You looked mighty dapper Colin and you looked absolutely stunning Sue. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Yelp
Went to the FVI after reading the NY Times review a few weekends ago and could not have had a more dispiriting experience. Despite having made reservations, my party was treated as if we were alien life forms upon entering. After that awkward introduction, we were seated in the handsome confines of the restaurant's bar room. An unreasonable wait for initial service was punctuated by visit by a sullen waitress who longed for a venue more amenable to her inscrutable aptitudes. Unfortunately, nothing about the quality or presentation of the food served to ANYBODY in my party enhanced the experience. Think of the kind of grub that used to make New England cuisine infamous: dry, bland, ill prepared and cold. Curiously, if you like Kale in chip form, there is a bounty available here with almost any dish. I could go on, but if you want to eat abysmal food in a wonderful country inn with paper napkins, this is your place.

Yelp
Our visit this evening to The Falls Inn was our introduction to New England, and what a pleasant introduction it was. Visiting from Minnesota, we came in with local, neighbor Kathy W. and had a delightful meal and drinks in the tavern served by owner Susan Sweetapple. The atmosphere was superb, our dinners were scrumptious, and Susan shakes a martini like a pro. We were here for a short vist, but TFI helps us want to come back for more. Thanks for a perfect evening. Jim

Yelp
The bar at the Falls Village Inn has become the center of life in our little town, and the recent return of chef Matt Fahrner to the area has brought an improved menu, both in selection and preparation. Instead of the reliable (and always satisfying) Inn Burger, tonight I tried the Lobster, Goat Cheese, and Jalapeño Wontons. Crunchy, fresh, and not overwhelmed by heat. Next, I tried the Crispy Sole, served over mashed potatoes, spinach, and sweet corn coulis. Fresh fish, not over-fried, and very nicely seasoned. If you still have room (I didn't,) have the surprisingly good lemon icebox pie. If you're in NW CT, it's worth a detour to come to this special place, where you're likely to see locals, race car drivers from nearby Lime Rock Park, and the occasional celebrity (who wants to be left in peace.)

Yelp
By FAR the best Inn and dining experience I have ever had. Great staff and wonderful owners. We look forward to coming back often!! Feels like family here. Also a lot of knowledge about the town and very supportive to the community!

Yelp
Went yesterday for brunch. Had their signature burger which is incredible, complete with carmelized onions and gruyere cheese inside. Real fries - did I mention REAL? Not frozen. As in, made there. Wow. Sat in bar at high tops, not my favorite but it was busy so that's what we were given. Friendly bartender. Had to ask for ice for my water as the bottle on the table was warm, but was quickly taken care of. A little pricey but it's Litchfield County so what do you expect? I would definitely go again. Extremely flavorful.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner with my husband and parents. We chose the Inn because I was tired of eating at the only two restaurants close to my home and was looking for a change. So glad that we made this decision! The food was spectacular and the service was impeccable. We had called and made a reservation for the dining room but after finding that a little drafty were immediately moved into the bar area and accommodated there. Both my husband and father ordered the French Onion Soup and claimed it was one of the best they've ever had. I order the pork chop and it was a little undercooked, after informing my server, she immediately took it back to the kitchen where they cooked it a little longer and returned it just to my liking. Thankfully she left me all of my side items so I could still eat with my party, which I really enjoyed, nothing irks me more than when they take your entire plate away and you have to sit and watch everyone else eat, so this was really nice of her. Will definitely return here again and recommend to others.
