Fancy's on Fifth

My first experience was not so good. Horrible service. But after 4 years, I decided to give it a second shot and was pleasantly surprised. All the food we ordered was amazing, the crab dip stood out. Burger was good but Jack browns is hard to beat. Service was much better than what I experienced last time. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ambiance and service. It's a good option if you have a group split between eating burgers and seafood.

Great place for burgers! We randomly found this restaurant and I’m glad we did because it quickly became one of our favorites! The atmosphere is awesome and the food is insanely good. Neither of us eats seafood so it was a total burger night. Their burgers are super tasty and the fries were cooked to perfection. They also offer complimentary valet which makes the experience even better. We will definitely be coming back!

Back in August-2019, we had a fantastic meal at Fancy's. I had an excellent burger special that was loaded with perfectly paired, top shelf ingredients and my wife had a shrimp pasta dish that was also very good. We enjoyed the decor, drinks and local beer selection. We were told recently that they were closed. We hope that is temporary because we plan to come back the next time we are in Birmingham.

We really enjoyed the food, and our server (Kevin) was awesome! I had the Fish and Chips. My wife had the Flying Pig (burger). They were both excellent! The patio was a comfortable temperature (though it was a cold night) and much quieter than the main dining room.

As I walked into Fancy’s at 4:45, they told me that they didn't open till 5. So, I walked across the street to Melt and almost ordered dinner over there. Instead, I had an appetizer and drank a beer anticipating my return to Fancy’s! The best thing I did was Return to Fancy’s. I had a dozen Oysters in there 5 different flavors from five different regions. How delicious were they. But what was about to come was amazing. I ordered the spare ribs over grits. The sauce was amazing, the deboned spare ribs were perfect, the Grits were so flavorful, it also had portabella’s and carrots mixed in. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. I would highly suggest you go to Fancy’s and enjoy amazing atmosphere, great local beers, and the best food that you're going to have this side of the Mississippi!

I know this will sound odd (being in Birmingham, AL) but the Amberjack BLT here was one of the best fish sandwiches I've had in years. Easily beat out most Grouper sandwiches on the Gulf Coast. The scallops were a hit with my wife, and our friends raved about their entrees as well. The oysters are fresh and opened on-site. The cheese+crab dip appetizer was so good. Overall, the vibe is cool and the staff is uber friendly and handles the heavy crowd with smiles. I will definitely take guests here when they visit Birmingham. Such a good p on the place to put a smile on Birmingham!

The food is good and who doesn't love Avondale? But...$120 for two burgers, appetizer and three glasses of wine seems steep for pub grub.

Very good food and service. I had the special burger, the Frenchie. My hubby had the Dip chip. We also had the crab dip appetizer which was beyond words. Plan to return in near future.
