Mt Fansipan is the highest peak in Indochina. We bought funicular, cable car and monorail tickets to get to the top. Best to come early to avoid crowds as it can get busy. It's a large complex woth various viewing decks, some restaurants and a Buddhist temple. It's a bit of a climb especially at this altitude where the air gets thin. Make sure to pace your steps to avoid getting dizzy. Check the weather forecast before going here. If it's foggy you wont see much below the mountain. At the top there is an altitude marker and you can take photos. There are also various Buddhist temples. One of them has a large Buddha on top, and I think there is a relic inside.

I loved the mountain. We unfortunately didn’t see it while it was clear. The day after we went up it was clear. The walk to the top could be tough for some people due to the altitude but there are other transport options. Walking up the stairs was great as we didn’t need to wait in any lines. Once we got to the top there were some amazing statues.

We went to Sapa Station in Sun Plaza to take the tram to go to Fansipan. After arrived, we go with cable car to up. The first place is the spacious food court and a lot of type of foods in there. Than we must climb the stairs to go to the temple. It was raining, so cold and a lot of fog too, so we cannot see all statue there. From the temple, we must climb more stairs to get to the tram to get us up to top of Fansipan and we must pay more for this tram ticket.

A beautiful mountain peak to visit! When we went it was extremely misty so we didn’t really have a view but it was very cool nonetheless. All the temples, pagodas, stairs and statues are beautiful and nicely made. There are some restaurants and shops on the top as well. The only thing is that the price for the cable car and funicular are quite expensive! 1.000.000 per person for the cable car and the funicular in Sapa town, not including the funicular at the top of the mountain. From the top of the cable car it is 100 steps to the other funicular or 600 steps to the summit. The steps are well to do and have handrails.

Stunning mountain views in cable car ride, when the weather cooperates. Visiting Fansipan is a bit of a gamble. We already checked the weather forecast before but unfortunately when we go there there is no clear skies and panoramic views, it's completely covered in fog.

I think it’s pretty clear how amazing this place is & words wont truly describe it. I recommend going early & be mentally prepared to line up for the train & than cable car but it’s all worth it. Wear your best walking shoes & pack warm clothes for the top. It’s definitely a lot of steps (plus altitude) to see the Buddha & summit but once again totally worth it. Probably don’t go hiking the day before. To experience everything (not rush) from the time you leave I’d plan on 5-6hours.

Nice and spectacular views . Can be breathless if you climbed up fast . Try to do it gradually while climbing up . It’s 3143m high and air gets thin up there . Love the place alot . Highly recommended and it’s worth the 6 hours bus ride from Hanoi .
