OMG the best scones with jam and cream and cappuccino! Beautiful building and seating overlooking the river. We visited twice and thoroughly recommend.

Awesome historic venue full of workshops where local artisans make their crafts. I bought several framed handprints, a wool scarf, and pottery. There are plenty of creative crafts for sale to choose from. The lady at the cashier is in urgent need of a basic course on how to wrap pottery up. The tearoom would be more appealing if it were 3-4 degrees warmer.

Farfield Mill is a hidden gem in the heart of Sedbergh. Housed in a beautifully restored former mill, it's a great place for art and craft lovers. The regularly changing exhibitions are always interesting to see. The café, with its delicious homemade cakes and stunning riverside views, is the perfect spot to relax after exploring the mill. Whether you're seeking inspiration or simply a delightful day out, Farfield Mill is a must-visit.

If you're in the area, this is an excellent place to visit and spend a few hours. There's a great cafe, serving hot and cold drinks and delicious homemade food. An exhibition on the history of the mill offers some fascinating insights into the very different world of the industrial revolution - which really wasn't so long ago. And then there is the lovely area where different local artists work, creating really gorgeous craft items - and a shop selling these items and other local products. Highly recommended. And remember to leave a donation when you visit to help keep the place running!

Just amazing place, four floors of arty stuff, lots of wool and wool items, paintings, handmade pottery jewellery, cafe, all sorts. It's free entry. Dogs allowed.

Wonderful place to visit to see and buy artisan handmade crafts. Great courses. I have attended, and thoroughly enjoyed several, learning new skills from the very competent tutors. Lovely cafe with great food to complete a brilliant day out!

Well worth a visit - this converted mill houses a few floors of goodies. There is a lovely cafe with a good range of food and drinks, exhibition spaces and artist studios. Good place to treat yourself/buy presents if you’re looking for something original and handmade.

Lots of different arts and crafts. Plenty of info on the history of the building. I was lucky enough to meet and chat to one of the weavers while I was there. Lovely cafe as well.

Yelp
I have a friend that works at Farfield Mill, so when she suggested I take a (very scenic) walk there, have a gander at the art and crafts then enjoy some home made cake and a coke at the cafe, on went the pack-a-mac and hiking boots. My friend was right, the walk to Farfield from the nearby town of Sedbergh is delightful. The old converted textile mill is set near the majestic Cumbrian fells, perched next to a picturesque river and now showcases the wares of local artists and craftsmen/women. Their creations are for sale and you can see and buy everything from beautiful glass-blown perfume bottles and watercolour paintings to wooly blankets and books about fashion design. It's really quite something, though not exactly cheap. The top floor of the mill is an exhibition area. This week, live weaving demonstrations could be seen for a small fee, but I'm not too fussed with weaving so gave it a miss. On the bottom floor, you can read about the mill's history and see how it would have looked long ago, walk around the art gallery and then head to the cosy cafe. It boasts a small outdoor seating area overlooking the river - perfect for dog walkers or those who want to soak up those rare northern rays (I'm told they do make an appearance every now and then). I ordered a piece of homemade toffee sponge cake, which was absolutely lush, soooooo moist and moreish. Hats off to whoever baked that, it was the perfect way to refuel for the walk home (around 2 miles). This is a gorgeous spot for lunch, a coffee or a simple nosey at some incredibly inspiring. And if you're into photography, take your camera along - you're bound to get some good snaps on the way there.

Yelp
Farfield Mill is a converted textile mill in a beautiful riverside setting with views of the Howgill Fells. The interior houses a number of studios where artists and craftspeople work. All the work is for sale and there is a central shop with a large range of art and craft items. Other attractions include working looms (you can buy the finished rugs and blankets), heritage displays, exhibitions and a cafe. Well worth a visit!

Yelp
Good to see a place like this housing small craft businesses, most of which sell very good quality art, clothing, pottery etc. The cafe downstairs is very good indeed. You can find it on the Hawes Road going out of Sedbergh. The one minus point for me was the over zealous attitude of the chap taking the admission fee who tried to push (very hard) the gift aid concept down my throat. No need for it, a simple sign saying do you want to include gift aid in your admission fee or not would suffice.
