Farm 215, Near Gansbaai, Overberg, South Africa - Explore & Book

"200km down the coast from Cape Town, near Africa's most southerly point, is a land dominated by ancient vegetation, flower fields and coastal plains. Many come to see the whales from the shore, but if you drive inland up a 4km gravel track you can reach Farm 215. Don't be put off by its simple entrance sign – this will not be a wasted journey. Less farm, more private nature reserve, it's a renovated homestead in the heart of a vast expanse of unspoilt fynbos heathland. Only occasional breezes and birdsong interrupt the deep stillness here. There's a choice of accommodation to suit almost everyone: two modern farmhouses sleeping 4-8, and a trio of freestanding cabins. Couples will adore the latter, oozing with stylish simplicity while the reserve takes centre stage. Lie in bed and you'll believe you're sleeping outside: wall-to-wall windows give astonishing views across the plains to the distant ocean. It's rural but not rustic: clean lines mean you won't be roughing it. Owner Maarten has masterfully harmonised nature and lodge together, and we can't wait to return. Highs An incredible sense of space, wilderness and tranquility, yet it's only a 2.5-hour drive from Cape Town Simple luxury and huge views from the rooms A striking 25m lap pool, with views out to the Atlantic Hiking through stunning wildflowers, horse-riding along the beach and nearby shore-based whale watching Lows They are entirely self-catered, with the nearest supermarket and restaurants a 20min drive away Apart from on arrival and departure, you're left entirely to your own devices; the team are reachable by Whatsapp during your stay should you need them" - Aidan Forestier-Walker

What a lovely long weekend at Farm 215 . Beautiful location and view. Went on a hike with my boyfriend and the view was breathtaking. I highly recommend this especially if you want peace and quiet. The hot tube was amazing, great for a cold winter season. It was a very special experience, got to see the caves at the Gansbaai beach which was absolutely beautiful 🤩

What a beautiful little place. We went for my birthday trip and i even received a small pot of honey as a gift. The Fynbos suite was well equipped and beautifully decorated. The area is so natural and secluded. The hosts were very helpful and informative. The hot tub was very fun to set up and use. As well as the natural pool. All in all 5 stars all around.

What a stunning place! Stayed in the 'house on 215' for 12 days. If felt like a real get away from everything. Submerged in nature, beautiful fynbos all around, stunning views, did some lovely walks, enjoyed many incredible sunsets, slept, read books. Also did some roadtrips in the area to Elim, Stanford, Struisbaai, Cape Agulhas, Pearly Beach and the nature reserve of Walker Bay. And afterward every time it felt like coming home in 'my' house on 215 :). I will most certainly be back.....

Had a lovely stay at Farm 215! Stayed in one of the Fynbos Suites, the view is spectacular and the hot tub outside makes the experience even better. Hosts are very kind and helpful. Don’t forget to dive into the swimming pool, which is filled with mountain water and is nice and refreshing! If you’re in the area, staying at Farm 215 is a must 😊

Our stay at Farm215 was absolutely perfect. Everything was actually even nicer than the photos on the website. The view is just amazing! The kitchen has everything you need. The bed is huge and super comfortable. You don’t have to leave the property for amazing hikes through the nature reserve. The supermarket and fishstore in Gansbaai is a beautiful 25 minute drive. From the balcony you have a panoramic view of fynbos, winefields, mountains and the ocean. The neighbours (8 minute drive) are actually a great wine domaine (Lomond wine estate) with an excellent selection of wines. Every evening we enjoyed a glass sitting on the huge balcony and watching the sunsets. Oh, and the host, a dutch guy called Martin, (who is assisted by a wonderful team including the lovely Naomi and Jacob,) is a very cool dude that makes sure that your stay is perfect. He actually made sure our rentalcar started after we had forgotten to turn the lights off the day before. We will definitely return.

We had a amazing time at the mountain suite, having stayed at the fynbos units before this unit in comparison offers more space but with a more rustic farmhouse interior set in a modernist structure on the hill. We hardly saw anybody except on the occasional walk some of the other guest. Its a very peaceful place with a lot of beautiful fynbos. We where lucky enough to spot some antelope and birdlife is in abundance. The space has a great private outdoor area and a wood fired hot tub that looks over the kloof,|the natural pool that is fed by mountain water is a must try, you skin feels amazing afterwards!

What a delightful stay in one of the Fynbos Villas in Farm 215. We had panoramic views from every part of the villa with large sliding doors opening up to nature. It was peaceful and quiet and we some horses come visit one early morning. What a delight seeing them standing in the fynbos in the mist. ||We did not use the hot tub as it was a busy weekend with family and friends.||If I can point out two things for future guests. Remember to bring your own hairdryer. The owner was most accommodating and did find one for me to use, which was most appreciated. And if you don't like drinking water that are slightly discoloured from tannin, I would suggest you bring some bottles water as it is not provided the villas.||All in all we had a lovely stay and will definitely return again.

We stayed at FARM215 in November and loved every second of our experience. Our Suite was spacious, very well appointed, and with everything that we possibly needed. The location is amazing, the views - wow! Waking up to the sound of nature and going to bed with the most beautiful sunsets was the highlight. Many beautiful activities on the farm including hikes. Highly recommended. We will be back!
