Stunning Inn, but the staff may have been on vacation, too! The inn is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful rooms, cozy beds and a really peaceful atmosphere. Honestly, the place itself is 5 stars. But...where was everyone? We knew the restaurant was closed, and that wasn't a problem. After reading all the stellar reviews about the staff, we expected more. They seemed to be on a stealth mission! I went to the front desk 3 times just to score wine glasses. Later, after dinner? The entire front desk was shut down like lights out at a summer camp. No instructions as to where we could get more ice or drinking glasses. Paper cups in our room were not appealing. For $300 plus a night, including a $50 maintenance fee, we expected an occasional human sighting. Maybe someone to check in, or even text, to say welcome or offer a friendly "need anything?" We'd gladly return, but next time we are hoping for a little more hospitality to match the high end setting.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, and four year old granddaughter recently stayed at the Estate and loved it. This beautifully kept historical resort has it all. The grounds are beautiful and fun to explore with, large lawn space, a pond for fishing, a pool. and hiking trails. The rooms are updated but charming, spacious, and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. Dining out on the patio was a wonderful experience, however, the main dining room with a huge fireplace and bar was also elegant. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The entire staff were warm and very helpful. This peaceful resort is perfect for couples and young children. We will definitely return.

You will know you have arrived from the moment you pull in the driveway. It is rare to find innkeepers devoted to the true comfort and care of guests. Farm road estates stands head and shoulders above even the top. You’ll notice it in the small details in the kind gestures through your stay.||There are not many places like this anymore. Farm Rd. Estates has blended the charm of the old inn, with modern upgrades, set in a stunning landscape. It is peaceful, beautiful, sophisticated and unpretentious. ||Paddle around on a kayak on the pond, hike through their trail system, spend a leisurely afternoon at the pool. And in the winter listen to live music at the Tavern, rest in your beautiful room with wide plank floors, a wood fireplace, Rod iron original hardware and the most comfortable of beds. Or gather outside with friends around a wood fire.||This is my favorite place to stay in Vermont.

These people can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The food is amazing. We stayed at the Manor house one night unbelievable rooms, kitchen etc huge bathrooms. Next 3 days at the spring house great room, jacuzzi style bathtub, fireplace. We enjoyed our daughter’s wedding there, no need to have pictures taken anywhere else. Highly recommend 👍

We stayed at the Manor House for 3 nights for our son’s wedding. What a delightful stay. Service was wonderful. The house itself was extremely comfortable and very well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Mike and Julia were very accommodating with all of our questions and requests. We would happily stay at The Farm Road Estates again. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay! The room was clean, comfortable and spacious and had a little deck to enjoy the view. The property is beautiful- there are 2 little ponds and trees all around. We'll definitely be back!

5, as a retired Hotel Resort Chef The staff and accommodations were top notch. |The food was exceptional.Especially the wedding dinner service from the transformation after breakfast to the coffee. My Halibut was delicious and all food was "hot food hot, cold food cold". I was looking to find the chef and give him/her my kudos, but did not see him/her. M

I stayed in the former Sugar Maple Inn. Farm Road has just acquired the property. So it was a little difficult to secure the reservation. The room was perfect, the property is quite nice, and the staff were fantastic. I'd highly recommend.

Yelp
This place has it all! We were lucky enough to stumble upon this beautiful property while booking a last minute stay for the end of ski season. What can I say, we experienced New England hospitality at its finest. From the most charming and well appointed guest room (complete with wood burning fireplace), to the amazing restaurant, and outstanding staff, I have to give it a 12 out of 10! Can't wait to return!!

Yelp
Such a charming property, with stellar food, and service! We had a wonderful time at Farm Road Estate!

Yelp
Very very good food and beautiful dining setting. Strongly recommend trying VT cheese plate to start. For entrees we had the cod (exceptional in a leak, bacon, and potato chowder) and lamb bolognese (I little bit salty for my taste but still delicious). I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner during the ski weekend.

Yelp
The room and property is beautiful!!! Was there for President's weekend. Mt. snow is just minutes from the property. The food at Saw Mill restaurant is amazing. Definitely book and reservation they book up quickly!! The drinks and food is amazing at the speakeasy Red Door. Staff is amazing!!! So much to do on the property!! My boys love the trails and ice skating!!! Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our stay! Girls trip and we stayed in farmhouse 2. The grounds are immaculate. We hiked the trail. It was wet this time of year but still doable. Used the pool Saturday and sat at the bon fire. Staff went above and beyond at every chance. Ate breakfast on property and it was excellent. Will absolutely come back!

Yelp
My boyfriend booked this for me because I have always wanted to go to Vermont. The bar/restaurant was unfortunately closed for renovations during mud season. Being from Michigan, we were unaware of mud season (runs April - mid May and is a time when many places shut down and renovate due to the change from ski season to summer season). However, we still had an absolutely AMAZING trip and would not have changed a single thing! We debated which accommodation to book because the map online makes everything look really far apart....but it's not! Everything is within easy walking distance. We ultimately chose the Woodshed, which is a small cabin to its own. The main room is the bedroom. I have never slept in a more comfortable bed in my life! Not only was the bed comfortable, the duvet/comforter was perfect....it cooled me down when I was warm and warmed me up when I was cold!!! The room was appointed with a welcome letter, unique snacks, plenty of coffee, and plenty of wood for the indoor fireplace (which we did not need to use). The bathroom is large and is stocked with top of the line toiletries. The shower has great temperature and water pressure! There is also a large closet/room that has a small refrigerator and microwave. There are 2 beds upstairs in the loft which we did not use but seemed comfortable. Outside, we had our own patio and firepit, which we used all the time. The property manager, Steve, was always dropping off wood for us (without us having to ask), but there was also a large pile of wood right around the corner if we ran out (which we didn't, even though my boyfriend tried lol). We spent a lot of our evenings sitting outside enjoying the sights and sounds of nature and the property. We also enjoyed the river and walking the property/hiking path, but we did not partake in tennis or basketball, but those are available, along with other amenities. When we were off property, we were exploring the local surrounding towns and easy-moderate hiking trails. Vermont doesn't disappoint! What a beautiful area! The FRE (Farm Road Estate) family was incredibly accommodating and hospitable. Many times throughout our stay, while we were outside, staff checked up on us or to simply say hello. We were shown some of the renovations of the blue stone patio at the Sawmill Restaurant, and it looks absolutely phenomenal, we can't wait to come back and visit!

Yelp
Great spot for great meal. We had a great dinner and the wine list didn't disappoint. There is also a really cool lounge area to have a drink while you wait for your table.

Yelp
Bartender was not very good. Service to get drinks was nonexistent. When I had to walk up to the bar to get a drink, bartender didn't look up & acknowledge me standing there even though there was no one else there. Didn't make a decent old-fashioned. My son could not even drink it was so bad. Love the ambience of this lovely old estate, but will think twice about expecting good service from the bartender & wait staff for cocktails. Dinner was very good though.

Yelp
Excellent sauces and mix of fresh ingredients combined with a beautiful setting on a patio during a lovely summer evening! They have an Extensive wine menu for perfect pairing. Staff was attentive and helpful. They brought blankets out when it cooled down and had good knowledge of the menu

Yelp
Our stay at Farm Road Estate AMAZING! Couldn't recommend this place more, although I'm hesitant because it's totally a hidden gem. The onsite restaurant was absolutely delicious and it was so nice to have good food, good drinks, and great atmosphere after a long day on the mountain. Plus the ambiance throughout the hotel is amazing. Cozy, welcoming, clean and safe (covid-wise). We stayed in room 5, which is in the main building and it was perfect. The beds were SO comfortable we literally asked where they got the duvet so we can buy one at home. Last but not least, the trip was made absolutely perfect thanks to the General Manager Steven. He is awesome and truly does it all!!! From welcoming guests, to waiter service in the restaurant, to making a fire for us to enjoy while the rest of our family was at the mountain, to local recommendations. He is the beyond exceptional!! I typically don't leave reviews but this stay was just so perfect I had to share with others!

Yelp
We just checked in today and I have to say this is one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Steve (the GM) is exceptional, makes us feel extremely welcome. The bar and restaurant are fantastic, rooms extremely clean and updated. Wood burning fires, expansive property, and the list goes on. It's the perfect fall getaway. Couldn't more highly recommend.

Yelp
Just finished an amazing 3 night stay at Cider House on Farm Road Estate with my wife, baby and dog. We were blown away by literally everything - rooms were extremely clean, hosts were attentive to all needs and super responsive (Steve provided answers to any inquiry we had in minutes), the property itself (very well maintained with a great pool area). The fire pit outside of the property is set up every night - all you need to do is light it! There is plenty to do close by as well from restaurants to hiking trails to breweries! Definitely plan on returning to the estate in the future. Thanks again!!

Yelp
First Class Stay!! Our stay at Farm Road Estate was wonderful! I would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again. We came here for a ski weekend to Mount Snow and the proximity was perfect, a short 10 min drive. The room was very nice, comfortable beds and clean. Best part of the Inn was the Restaurant, amazing food, custom cocktails and great service. The cocktail area with the fireplace is a cozy place to grab a drink before dinner and then the food was incredible. I live in Manhattan and would compare it to any of the top restaurants in the city. Can't wait to come back soon!

Yelp
Hospitality to perfection. From booking, to the arrival, to checking out. They don't miss a beat. The owners are wonderful and attentive as well as the staff on site. Very friendly, super clean and following all Covid guidelines. A beautiful property that is elevated and designed as country chic. Feels like home when you first walk in. Comfortable and the smell of a fire burning. The space breaths elegance to where you still want to dress up when coming to the dinner table at the Sawmill Restaurant on site :-) The restaurant is charming and the menu well designed to make all guests happy. Truly an absolute gem in Vermont. Cheers to the team at Farm Road Estate. Thank you for all that you do esp during these challenging times. We had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
My Husband and I just returned from an anniversary stay at Farm Road Estate and WOW! what a place! The property is so picturesque with outdoor offerings for every season. All of the accommodations are newly renovated and so beautifully appointed. The Sawmill Bar and Table is located in the gorgeous historic inn for guests (and locals) 5 star dining pleasure. The food and service were amazing! There we also enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the stunning great room. We stayed in The Farmhouse and cannot say enough about how clean it was with several amenities for our comfort and enjoyment. These folks thought of everything! The owners and staff are so accommodating, friendly, warm, and welcoming. Farm Road Estate offers a unique and special experience not to be missed. We can't wait to return!
