7 global 'coolcation' destinations to beat the heat - SilverKris
"A dedicated lavender viewing area where rows of blooms come into full colour in summer, making it ideal for relaxed walks, photography and experiencing the floral aroma that defines the season." - Kissa Castañeda
I visited Lavender East on 29th June, 2025. The view was nice but all Lavender not bloomed yet.
You can take bus ticket to visit the entire Lavender farm, it take 500 yen/adult.
This is the largest lavender farm in Japan.
Also you can enjoy Tokachi volcano from here.
Enjoy.

Hot and scorching. Free entry. Do rmb to bring your UV umbrella along. This place is less touristy than Farm Tomita. You can get the same Farm Tomita merchandise here as well. This place is just a lavender farm so there is not much other flower varieties as compared to Farm Tomita. Didn’t take the tractor ride (500yen per adult) as it circles around the farm only. Prob can spend about 1hour here. There is a small section with 3 wells for you to try. do give it a try! The natural well waters are very cool to touch under the hot summer. 😌

This is Farm Tomita's second area of fields in the bottom of the valley. There is a gift shop, food stand, toilets and a covered seating area. There are also far fewer visitors than at the main site. They offer tractor rides around the fields.
This is where you come if you want a lavender field picture with no people in it.

Highly recommended if you are already in the area. Get something from Farm Tomita or here even a soft serve will get you 200 yen off the tractor ticket. We came this morning, the second day they open for business this season. Not crowded at all and most of the visitors were Japanese. The lavender field is way bigger here and this is where they eventually harvest for making perfume and soap. A very good complement to the Farm Tomita main site.

I quite enjoyed Farm Tomita. Unfortunately though the lavender was all but blossomed. I would recommend checking in advance so you avoid wasting time.
Otherwise they have a nice lavender shop and multiple dessert places so you can always find something to do even if the weather is bad or lavender not blossomed.

Love this place. The aroma of lavender is in the air! We went there at 9 am, and no one was there yet so we had good time taking photos before the crowd comes at around 10am.There is a kinda bus ( tractor) that carry tourists for a ride around the lavender farm. This place is less crowded compared to the main Tomita Farm.

Very vast and endless fields of lavender—it was such a joy to see them. To be honest, the ice cream was just average, though the price was reasonable.

This farm is not very big but it is beautiful. Although some area do not have colorful plant or flower, but it is still beautiful. Enjoy taking a scroll.
