Farm Tomita in Furano is one of Hokkaidō’s most beautiful flower spots. In summer, the fields turn into waves of purple lavender, mixed with colorful flower rows that look like a painting. Walking through the gardens is relaxing, and the views of the fields with mountains in the background are stunning. Don’t miss the lavender soft cream—it’s fragrant and refreshing on a warm day. Entry is free, and you can also shop for lavender products like perfumes and soaps to take home. A must-visit if you travel to Furano in July or August.

This is a beautiful scenic spot to enjoy seasonal flowers. The farm is large, and each area has its own vibrant color theme—purple lavender, bright red, sunny yellow, soft pink, and many other shades. It’s relaxing to walk around and take in the views from different angles, each corner offering a new photo opportunity. Across the farm, there are several souvenir shops and dessert stalls, with lavender ice cream being a highlight. We visited in August when many tour buses were here, but the space is wide enough that it didn’t feel too crowded inside. It’s an easy place to spend an hour or two enjoying nature, tasting local treats, and picking up gifts to bring home. We really enjoy the fresh green and orange melons as well as lavender icecream.

🌸 A Living Masterpiece of Color and Fragrance Farm Tomita is nothing short of breathtaking—a true wonderland where nature and artistry blend seamlessly. The iconic lavender fields, stretching endlessly in waves of purple, are the crown jewel of the farm. When the breeze flows across, the entire hillside dances with lavender fragrance, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. It’s not just a visual delight but also a sensory journey that stays with you long after you leave. ⸻ 🌼 More Than Lavender – A Symphony of Flowers What makes Farm Tomita truly remarkable is that it’s not limited to lavender alone. The farm carefully cultivates a wide variety of seasonal flowers, painting the landscape in ever-changing patterns of color. Stripes of scarlet poppies, golden marigolds, snowy baby’s breath, and vibrant cosmos form breathtaking “rainbow fields” that look like a living painting under the Hokkaido sky. Each section feels like stepping into a different garden, each with its own charm and beauty. ⸻ 🌿 A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Care Farm Tomita doesn’t just showcase flowers—it represents decades of dedication to preserving and celebrating Hokkaido’s floral heritage. Walking through its fields, you can sense the meticulous care behind every bloom. The farm also offers unique lavender-based products—perfumes, essential oils, soaps, and even lavender ice cream—allowing visitors to take home a piece of this floral paradise. ⸻ 🌞 A Place to Slow Down and Feel Happiness Above all, Farm Tomita gives visitors something priceless: a sense of joy and peace. Whether it’s gazing at endless rows of lavender, enjoying the sweet fragrance in the air, or simply standing still to admire the vastness of colors, the farm reminds us how magical nature can be. It is not only a feast for the eyes but also nourishment for the soul. ⸻ ✨ In short: Farm Tomita is a place where flowers speak the language of beauty, harmony, and happiness—a destination that leaves every visitor inspired and enchanted.

It was my first time visiting a well-maintained lavender field, and being surrounded by the fragrant purple blossoms was both magical and fascinating—visually and aromatically. Purple is a rare color in nature; when you think about it, it’s actually not that easy to find naturally occurring purple around us. Here, you can also try lavender products like soaps, air fresheners, and even ice cream. As for the lavender ice cream… how should I put it? It’s not that it tasted bad, but it definitely felt a bit unusual. Let’s just say that until that moment, I had never imagined what fabric softener with lavender scent might taste like.

Visited on 29 Sep 2025 and didn't expect to see so many beautiful flowers here in autumn. There are far fewer crowds compared to spring and summer, allowing you to really enjoy the flower field. Recommend visiting in late September or early October if you're looking to avoid the heat and crowds.

Google
Probably the most famous flower fields in Furano given how all the tour buses were stopping here. Very crowded with tourists. The flower fields were nice and well maintained but I cant help to feel that other less crowded ones nearby were more lush and more enjoyable. Still, worth a visit. Especially enjoyed the gentle fragrance of lavender wafting in the air

Came by during Winter, although there were no flowers to see but had wonderful Lavendar tea and ice cream. Enjoyed the museum and scented bookmark making area. For Muslims, they also have a small room for prayers.

After hearing about and seeing Farm Tomita in so many Furano itineraries, we definitely wanted to see as well even though we went in mid-October. There were some colourful flowers in bloom so it was pretty but obviously not as vibrant as in summer. Worth visiting for a few photos.

Yelp
Beautiful flower fields! Mainly lavender but there are also fields of colorful flowers. Parking can get very busy so get there in the morning, admission is free and then there are gift shops everywhere. Definitely get the lavender soft serve, melon soft serve and there are tons of lavender themed gifts you can get! Spent maybe 2 hours exploring the entire farm!

Yelp
Admission is free for these beautiful fields!!! We had a memorable morning roaming the fields and browsing the lavender product shops. There are benches for resting, tree-lined areas for shaded walking, and observatory decks for gorgeous views! I recommend parking in the Melon house parking lot rather than waiting to park in the main Farm Tomita parking lot. It's a short 3-4 minute walk between the two areas. Plus, this makes it easy to stop for lunch or dessert in Melon House area on the way out!

Yelp
This place is huge! Lots of lavender fields to walk through (each with a different variety of lavender), plus other flowers as well. There are also souvenir and snack shops scattered around--definitely worth a look for lavender related products + lavender ice cream. Free admission is definitely an enormous plus. It does mean there are more people who come here, but also the place is so huge that it doesn't feel particularly crowded. Especially if you walk out into some of the farther fields (uphill toward the rose garden, past the poppies, etc.), any crowd thins out a ton. Truly a lovely, well-tended farm! Snack-wise, I had the lavender soft serve and really enjoyed it--solid lavender flavor, and nice smooth ice cream texture! I'm probably just too big of a lavender fan, but I wouldn't have complained if the flavor had been a little stronger :^) Overall Tomita was a very fun farm to visit though--beautiful place!

Yelp
Free Admission! Beautiful fields of flowers! Lavender peaks in July and August and they have a variety of different flower fields for you to walk around. There are snacks and food that you can purchase but definitely try the lavender ice cream. The farm is huge and it's great for kids to run around in the lesser traveled fields. You can get some amazing photos here.

Yelp
Farm Tomita: Did you know "lavender tourism" is a thing? I got excited because I thought it was a gay thing, but no, they actually mean real lavender like fragrant fields of it. Lavender is the new pink, at least that's what the great philosopher Nicki Minaj said. Even in mid-October, past the fullest of their bloom, this is a gorgeous spot to peruse because in typically meticulous Japanese fashion, they provide a tapestry of different flowers that make their gardens feel like colorful tapestries flowing in a river (photo: http://bit.ly/2Jl1HFD). Even if you tire of the variety of floral fields on display, you can indulge in a cup of lavender soft serve (photo: http://bit.ly/31MrI7a). Jamie W. and I got here as the highlight of Japanese bus tour where nonsensical English translations came out of the speaker in a robotic monotone. It's probably a lot cheaper to take the train from Sapporo. RELATED - Traveling to Japan? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2qrUBZo

Yelp
Huge lavender theme park. Beautiful flowers everywhere. Best time to come in July or August during the peak lavender season. Best part: free admission. Nice to walk around and take pics. When feeling tired, you can take a break from having a snack like lavender ice cream or melon. Also don't forget to pick up a few souvenir items from their gift shops.
