"If only all health food looked and tasted like this. We recommend pretty much everything at this no-frills counter-service outfit, but the açaí bowls (which you can get topped with island-grown bananas, papayas, pineapple, and lilikoi) are particularly satisfying. If you're after something a little brunchier, the shop's famous Pono Bowl—a tasty vegan soup layered on quinoa, millet, and amaranth and topped with Maui greens, feta, and garlic-cashew dressing—can't be beat." - Kris Fordham

If you think eating healthy means sacrificing flavor, Farmacy Health Bar in Wailuku is here to change your mind—and possibly your entire outlook on life. This little gem is serving up fresh, local, and organic goodness. Speaking of açai bowls, let’s get into it. The Da Cove Bowl? A masterpiece. The açai is thick, creamy, and blended to perfection—none of that watered-down smoothie nonsense. Topped with local honey, granola, fresh fruit, and a sprinkle of magic (probably), it’s the kind of bowl that makes you wonder if you should start eating like this every day. But don’t stop there—the Poi Bowl is an absolute must-try. It’s a delicious nod to Hawaiian culture, with fresh poi, banana, and coconut, bringing a unique twist to the usual açai lineup. And if you’re more of a savory person, their health wraps and sandwiches are loaded with fresh, local ingredients that actually make kale exciting. The vibe? Chill, friendly, and very Maui. The kind of place where everyone is on island time, and nobody is rushing you out the door. Whether you’re fueling up for an adventure or just need a guilt-free treat after too many mai tais, Farmacy Health Bar is a no-brainer.

Delicious and healthy food. Good prices. Good for both savoury and sweet stuff. Very friendly service and they will kindly explain the ingredients if your not familiar with the food. Eco friendly place with provision of real cutlery or compostable ones.

Google
This Farmacy Club is the best vegan sandwich on the island. However, it's much better than the other options I've tried on their menu, including a smoothie, juice, and another carrot-based sandwich. I will go out of my way to just get this sandwich again.

Google
We were highly suggested this place from some friends because they said they had some really solid açaí bowls... and I am always looking for some really good açaí bowls! From all the past places we have visited for açaí in Hawaii, I have been pretty disappointed, but we were told that the açaí here was some good stuff. At first, it was very confusing on how to order, and what was available, but the super pleasant and nice gent behind the counter helped us through everything. We got a wai side bowl with mango, pineapple, and bananas, and then a cacao bowl with pineapple, blueberries, and bananas. The amount you get for the price is really good, and they really pack in a lot of amazingly tasty, juicy, and big pieces of fruit! The fruit was also insanely fresh, and I could eat the fresh fruit all day any day. The other fixings in the bowl were also really fresh and really solid. Now, the actual açaí, the star of the dish was not bad at all. I've had a few açaí bowls prior to coming here, and I was highly disappointed in those, but the açaí here completely blows out the past açaí I have had on the islands. The açaí has a pretty good consistency, even though it was more on the watery side, it was still somewhat thick and has that sorbet consistency that I love. The taste itself was pretty good too, and I could definetly taste a little açaí in the mix. Overall, I wasn't disappointed, and this was by far the best açaí we had on Maui. I love the quantity of what you get, and I love the amazing fruit on it. Definetly if you are in the area, you should give this place a shot, because they also have a wide variety of other meals as well.

Google
I got the BBQ jackfruit sandwich on focaccia with cheese, and lentil potato soup. They were both absolutely delicious. I was actually heading to a different sandwich spot down the road when I walked past this place. It smelt so enticing, I ended up eating here instead. The person at the counter was pleasant and helpful. I asked him what he recommended and he suggested the BBQ jackfruit sandwich. It was a little pricey but it's pandemic times and small restaurants are going out of business so I think the price is appropriate to keep places like this afloat. It was also very filling so it lasted two meals which made it a lot more bang for my buck (and I have a large appetite!). I was only in town for a shopping trip so I'm sad I won't be able to buy food from here more often but if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a try! Healthy and delicious.

Google
It is a wonderful intention to have more healthy food options, but there has been an issue here almost every time I go. There is one ordering area so if the person ordering is having trouble, asking questions, or taking a while to order the line just backs up out the door and they do nothing. Smoothies are very thin, not thick. Portions are small. If you have food allergies, like dairy, beware. They have put cheese on items when I told them I was allergic and they took some off the top and gave it back to me to eat with cheese still in the salad. I think the one in Pukalani is a little better than the one in Wailuku, but if you can, you are better off eating at home.

Google
we had a very delicious soup and creative acai bowl. the smoothie was very good as well. good atmoshpere inside but no possibity sitting outside. prices rather hight. but 5 stars for the food quality.

Google
Note: Bring your own spoon because they use cheap wooden shave ice style spoons. I came here on my daily search for Acai Bowls because they have good reviews online and were the closest place to me on this beautiful and hot Wailuku morning. Parking is a bit hard to get around Main Street so I parked a few blocks away and burnt some calories in anticipation of breakfast. Walking in I thought the place had a very healthy vibe and was looking forward to my acai bowl. The bowl was just average to me, not hating on it or anything, I just expected more....The search for the perfect Acai bowl continues!

Yelp
The online menu intrigued us, so we decided to venture over to Farmacy; however, we were surprised to see such an abridged version of the menu in the actual store. Moreover, the ordering counter is about four feet away from the actual door you enter. So, the kitchen is in full display. There's no indoor seating, which is fine. We were able to enjoy a medium sized açaí bowl outdoors on the bench. The açaí bowl itself was pretty good. I guess my expectations are predicated on all the other yelp reviews. This place was pretty misleading. I read online that the açaí bowls do not include toppings unless you pay for each one. In the store, the cashier said that the bowls "came with three toppings". When I asked if that meant included in the price, she then said no. I understand businesses want to make money, but being transparent is key to a customer's happiness, too. WARNING TO VEGANS: Another misleading thing was how the online menu prided itself on being vegan and plant-based. To my surprise, the açaí bowl was drizzled in HONEY and thus NOT vegan. There was no mention of honey in the menus nor from the staff. Please, please ask people if they want honey. Not everyone does, especially for vegan reasons. Prices were steep, but the food was pretty good. The granola was especially fresh.

Sandeep R.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place especially if you're close to the airport. My personal favorites were the Açaí bowl and the Paia sandwich It's worth noting that parking might be hard to find nearby and that this place is more of a pickup spot rather than a dine-in place.

Tien D.

Yelp
We came here after a hike and wanted to try some açaí bowls. Parking was hard to find, as it is street parking and you kind of have to squeeze in on that narrow road. The establishment is more of a pick up and go spot. In fact, you don't really step inside. You kind of order from the door and everything is made to order. I got mango and blueberries on mine. My suggestion is skip the blueberries (they were just frozen blueberries) and try a fruit native to the island. The mango tasted so fresh and delicious! The person who worked there was no nonsense and to the point, but he explained things when we had questions so that was nice! I would consider visiting again

Victoria Y.

Yelp
Walked up to it on November 4, 2023 and it was closed. A guy said now it's a catering business.

Phil H.

Yelp
Amazing homemade soups, açaí bowls, fresh drinks, and vegan sandwiches. Love their pono bowl, which is soup of the day over quinoa/brown rice, and kale.

Jeanie N.

Yelp
Great grab and go place (no indoor seating currently, not sure if covid related or not). Appreciate that they have a loading zone area for cars so you can quickly run in and grab (preordered) food Smoothies are pre-made. They just pull them out of a freezer. I think that made it less good because the consistently was harder / more frozen compared to a freshly made smoothie. But their smoothies are also cheaper than market rate so you get what you pay! Their veggie sandwich, which uses shredded carrots as a 'pattie' was SO good! I thought their fluffy focaccia bread was great to sort of beef up the sandwich and the pesto added a lot of delicious flavor

Micah K.

Yelp
This is a small store with some great açaí bowls and smoothies. I was trying to get coffee next door and we ended up stopping by to try this place too. The açaí bowl was very refreshing and the fruits tasted fresh too! It doesn't seem like there was a huge menu to choose from for the açaí bowls but they were customizable so you can choose what fruits and toppings you want! If you are in the area check them out!

Yelp
Yummy acai that was perfect after our hike. We easily found parking on the street and sat in front of the store to enjoy our açaí bowls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their açaí reminded me of Brazilian açaí bowls and that's exactly what I was wanting (no added sugar or juice), topped with fresh fruit. Super yummy!

Tutti T.

Yelp
I would always come here for the pono bowl soup with tofu popcorn. Their ingredients are always fresh and delicious! Also got to try the health shots. Wow! Really potent and healthy! I'm so glad they're opening a new branch in Wailea! We sure could use more healthy restaurants in the Southside.

Sarah M.

Yelp
The red lentil soup with squash was superb. This is a lovely little vegan walk up that is Fairly priced. I paid $5 for a bowl of soup and bread. Amazing! Absolutely worth a stop for lunch when you are in the area.

Moe Y.

Yelp
This has to be the best smoothie I ever had ! Kyle was also extremely kind and generous I highly recommend this place. Everything is fresh and tastes refreshing Worth the 30 min drive

Lauren D.

Yelp
I thought a lot about this because I hugely support healthy vegetarian / vegan / and plant-based food options on the island. I'd like to give them a four--but it just wouldn't be honest. The service was unaloha. Not even basic courtesies like a welcome or smile or anything. I felt unwelcome. The açaí bowl was alright. The mango Mac nut bowl only has a small piece of dried mango on top. The granola was quite good with toasted Mac nuts. While I usually don't relish the granola, it was the best I've had on the island--with the crunchy toasted Mac nuts. The fruit was not flavorful. The sandwich was mediocre and definitely not worth the fourteen dollars or so that it cost. The tofu seemed uncooked, marinated in Brag amino liquid and nutritional yeast if I were to guess. Some more baking to firm it up seems like it would help bring an element of texture and bite. This place has potential; but I probably won't be returning until it has a bit of a makeover.

Aline T.

Yelp
Down to earth vegan joint, very casual and no dining area but get a bench outside. The owner and staff are chill and kind. The food here is made with care and love and tastes good to boot. Their acai bowls are great. Smoothies are refreshing on a hot day. You can order online and pickup for convenience. I really enjoy their loco Moco when they have it, it's popular and sells out and doesn't come back for a week or so.

Edric H.

Yelp
I usually dislike acai bowls but this place really hit the spot, especially after a long hike. The ginger cane juice is also very refreshing and not too sweet! Really friendly customer service and plentiful street parking everywhere.

Ken J.

Yelp
Found this business on yelp and was in the area today and decided to give it a try. We both had the Açaí bowls They were very good! Fruit was fresh. The people were very friendly. This is set up for takeout. No tables. I would recommend you try this business!

Jasper A.

Yelp
The acai bowls here are 5/5 in terms of freshness and flavor.. probably one of the best on island! It is a "order to-go" type of shop so there is no dining area but do NOT let that stop you from going! Simply order an acai bowl and head over to Iao Valley Park to sit down and enjoy the scenery and your acai bowl! That being said, this shop would definitely be a 5 star if there was a seating area as the street it's located at is quite nice. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the fruits and bowls they serve so its's always a pleasant experience!

Amber K.

Yelp
I live a good açaí bowl. Farmacy had good options, a little on the pricey side, but a good spot if you want açaí.

Justin T.

Yelp
Not leaving Maui without stopping by Farmacy Health Bar! First came her back in 2014 and although menu items have changed over the years this review will reflect on the current items as of 2018-2019! Fast Facts: -Lots of variety and not your usual or typical acai bowl combinations -Portions can be big and inexpensive compared to other places that charge the same price. -Lots of tasty Vegan dishes that even a meat-eater would love -Nice staff Beyond Burger: It was amazing! I had to get it the second time in the day while in Maui! I had it with an egg and it tastes and looks soo much like a burger that I couldn't believe it wasn't meat! Acai bowl sizes: "Pretty" is good for everyone, just enough size to satisfy, but if you just came from a hike or a day out on the beach the Papa is the go-to size! Country Cacao is my favorite acai bowl! They make their own granola and their local honey is a must addon to your bowls. They have a variety of smoothies that are very customizable to your tastes as well as the acai bowls. Also, seasonal fruits that can be added to your bowls are posted on their walls so you at any time of the year you can always have your own unique acai bowl! Overall, would definitely recommend coming to The Farmacy Health Bar when you're in Maui! You won't regret it!

Tara A.

Yelp
Great acai bowls here! I like how you have the option to customize your bowl by picking your own fruit. We picked dragonfruit (can't get this often in CA!), blueberries and banana. The granola to acai ratio was amazing--enough granola to go around!! Also really enjoyed the honey. Go here!!!

Brandon W.

Yelp
A great place for sugar cane juice. I usually order this without lime, and without ginger, only a little ice. A refreshing drink, and because I always order the sugar cane juice, I have not gotten a change to order anything else, such as today's special which was star fruit limeade. They offer acai bowls, sandwiches and smoothies. If you want, you can purchase a meal for someone with the "pay it forward board" Parking is limited, but well worth a stop here.

De A.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious and refreshing! Tasty way to incorporate some much needed vitamins and minerals into my diet. We stopped here on the way to the Iao Theatre, on a Sunday, and it was one of the few places that was open. We were hoping to catch a bite to eat somewhere beforehand, but c'est la vie, Mimi. Most places were closed. However, this was no last-ditch Larry! We were greeted pleasantly, the shop was clean. The entry way was a little tight, but so were the drinks! So yummy! Once you order, you'd best step right back out on the sidewalk so you can turn around without bumping into your date. I had the 12 oz. dragon fruit drink, and it had bananas, and the flavors were so balanced and not overly sweet, like some other blends I've had around the island. The drink was just enough to fill me up until we could go out to dinner after the 90 minute concert was over. I'd definitely stop in again. #buylocal

Yelp
This place is all fresh farmed organic food. It is getting more difficult to find places like this. I really like the pono bowl, which is a combo of brown rice, soup and salad. I know it sounds wierd, but it works. Very filling. Their dishes are all home made. I love their soups as well although just once I got one that was a little too spicy, but I just ladled it on top of some steamed brown rice.

Tutti R.

Yelp
MY NEW FAVORITE VEGETARIAN PLACE! Passed by this place too many times before and never paid attention to it. Didn't look exciting from outside. Today, we were in the area, and I was craving for vegetarian food. I searched on Yelp and recognized the picture! Read all the good reviews, so we decided to try it. They gave a sample taste of the soup of the day... I was WOWED! My husband and I shared the layered soup (quinoa on the bottom, then soup, topped with kale greens , popcorn tofu, feta cheese and some kind of delicious garlic cashew dressing ). I was WOWED again! Loved it! Get the large size, good value, good for sharing! Or take home the rest and have it again for dinner. We also shared a Beyond burger in pita bread (you can choose your bread!). WOW again! Tasted like real meat! But real healthy! Would definitely come again. They have a branch in Pukalani. I wish they'd open in Kihei too!

Bon B.

Yelp
Delicious healthy plant bases menu! Not cheap but very good quality and super yummy. I love the roaster sandwich. My daughter gets a Maui girl smoothie all the time on walks through the neighborhood. Great healthy option! Also really appreciate their packaging - no plastic!

Sunflower C.

Yelp
Food is so clean, fresh and delicious. And the staff is so friendly Cece and Kyle are the best!

Cheyenne G.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! The açaí bowl and the jack fruit bbq sandwich were freaking amazing!!!! Who could of thought jack fruit would taste like wonderful southern food? So many great vegan options!!!

Tanya M.

Yelp
After a hike at Waile'e Ridge this was a perfect stop for Acai bowls and smoothies! The guy running is super friendly too

Kate M.

Yelp
Place looks like it's closed it's so dark inside. Then you are welcomed by the rudest counter person, makes you feel stupid. They charge you for everything- even if you don't order online. Just for wasting their time on ordering. The make you pay a tip. Even before service has been given. Def wouldn't recommend this place. Smoothie are good if you don't mind the rudeness.

Jaz G.

Yelp
Friendly staff, nice takeout order system during pandemic, and a place I can rely on for some healthy food when I'm in this area. Happy that they are a part of market street and can serve this area and community. Loved the pay forward program (still being done?) where you could pay for someone else's meal in need. This location has been better than the Pukalani location when it comes to staff, service and food orders.

Hyn G.

Yelp
The service is great here! This was my first time here and Laurie was so helpful in helping me with my order. I had a Acai bowl and Pono burger!

Krysten I.

Yelp
Farmacy Health Bar in wailuku was one of my favorite places I visited on Maui. I don't normally like divey spots like this, so maybe I was distracted by the awesome acai bowls they serve here:) ok maybe I was distracted by the amazing flavor combination of papaya and starfruit on top of my acai bowl. How have I never had papaya topping for an acai bowl? The acai has a nice flavor and consistency. I loved that they offer your choice of fruit topping depending on what is available. For example, starfruit happened to be in season when I was here and Farmacy had some! Papayas you can get all year round.... Both were awesome toppings that I've never had on an acai bowl. I like the whole concept of choosing your own toppings, too. They also have other things on the menu, like a poi acai bowl.... But I liked the regular acai so much that if I'm ever in Maui, I'll most likely just stick to that.

Kacie F.

Yelp
Cashier was extremely rude. I'm serious when I say that was the worst ordering experience I've ever had... first of all, we were coming from kihei, so we ordered online. Google firstly directs you to order thru Hopper, kinda sneakily. I didn't even know that that's what happened until the hopper guy called me to tell me they were out of what I ordered. Which was fine, so I canceled it to order in person. When I got there, I thought I knew what I wanted, but the cashier was so annoyed with me for no reason. Talking to me like I was stupid, when I was just going off of what their online menu says... He told me to order from the chalk board instead, which i couldnt even read btw. It looked like a 5 yr old wrote it... I work in food service as well so I understand what it's like to deal with the same annoying problems (hopper online orders) and people (who "dont order correctly") all day everyday. but that was no excuse for the asshole attitude this guy was giving me. Seriously consider taking yourselves off Hopper if you hate it that much. And PLS update your menu to make it easier to read. Maybe even put one outside so we can decide what we want before walking in. I enjoy the food when I come to wailuku, so if I ever feel like coming back in the future, i have to make sure I order "correctly" according to this guys standards, so I avoid any further "complicated" terrible interactions

Schmon 0.

Yelp
Rude cashier! Went to Farmacy from Kihei and went to order of the chalk board but couldn't read it so had to get the menu online. I went to order and I guess I accidentally said acai wrong and the cashier laughed snarky. Very weird experience and rude cashier. Will not recommend for tourists to go there . The lady before us in line said the guy has said something along the lines of "oh great more tourists are here trying to take over our land" Rudest and most awkward experience

Kislev A.

Yelp
Visited this shoppe at my cuz's suggestion. Ordered one papa honoloi acai bowls and the other, a papa poi with different fruit combos. This is an awesome way to hide that poi taste and still get it down! By far my favorite (read: only) way to eat poi. The acai portion of the bowl is also super well done. This is the only other place I've had acai in a consistency that i liked. The granola is legit. Great ingredients, very good crunch. The roaster sandwich is very good. Very tasty considering there was no meat. The only down side is how much more island time this place is on than the rest of the island, it seems. It took a little less than an hour for the two papas. So while waiting, my cuz redeemed a free health shot she got for signing up for their rewards membership. This shot has a bunch of ingredients that are good for you. But the one that I remember the most are the turmeric and garlic ingredients. Let's just say that this shot "cleansed" me within a couple of hours after I've taken it. There is no place to sit inside or outside. This is one of the reasons why that long wait seems especially interminable.

Too S.

Yelp
Wow delicious! The roaster (veggie sandwich) on focaccia, and the Marinated tofu sandwiches are my faves and I'm not usually a tofu lover. So full of flavor and yummy veggies. I can't resist adding a slice of Irish cheddar, but not necessary. This place is take out only. Be patient. They may be short staffed due to pandemic consequences. Place your order on the iPad then go window shop at the nearby boutiques and gallery while you wait. Then head back for a delicious lunch you can eat under the big tree down the street or take with you to the beach or a hike. *Totally worth the wait* This food is fresh and made with love. If you're visiting Maui, it's central enough to be on your way to wherever you're going. If your looking for tasty, but healthy eats, don't miss this Farmacy Health Bar!

Cole S.

Yelp
First off give credit where credit is due, the açaí bowls were very good. However the smoothies were warm and flat. If you stop there just be prepared to view the most confusing menu ever and then be made to feel stupid as you try and navigate it

Richard B.

Yelp
WOW! I was craving a smoothie bowl. They have fantastic smoothie bowls as well as great Sandwiches. One of the best cafes I have been too

Alyssa N.

Yelp
We came on a recommendation of a friend, after hiking the Waihee Ridge Trail. Service was reallyyy slow, but super friendly...and the food was awesome!!! We both had acai bowls and they were absolutely fantastic. If you're in the area or looking for something really fresh and delicious - I highly recommend stopping in for a treat!

Jody B.

Yelp
This place SUCKS!! We ordered 2 Paia sandwiches, both with cheese and 1 with no onions and 1 Papa bowl. Brought food home to find out they both had onions and neither one had cheese which I was charged an extra $2.00. Also was charged a service charge of $3.22 which I had no idea they do. We are locals and this is ridiculously pay $48.22 for 2 wrong sandwiches and a açaí bowl! Will never eat here again and will be letting family and friends know too!!!! I would not be rating this even a 1 star but it won't let me post. My choice is ZERO stars!!

Julia Y.

Yelp
Love this place!! It's like a little gem in the heart of Wailuku. Small place but they do offer seating there. The menu has lots of options from burgers to my acai bowl. They have kombucha on tap and makes the smoothies fresh right in front of you with all natural ingredients. Everything there is local, from the fruits to the meats. You can do a custom acai bowl picking which fruits you want in it. The prices are comparatively higher than other places for similar stuff but the quality really makes it worth the extra dollar.

Jolene K.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place when I saw they had vegan options, but I left extremely disappointed. The man said he was working by himself so he took off pretty much everything from the menu and only offered us açaí bowls and said they were out of granola. You could tell he did not want to be there and didn't care to help us at all. We ordered the açaí bowls anyways and had to pay for each fruit topping with no granola. We got our bowls and the blueberries were FROZEN. I couldn't believe this. The açaí itself was not good either and was super icy.

Melanie D.

Yelp
The Acai bowls are really good, but I agree with others about rude service. I'd try their food truck instead.

Nica K.

Yelp
Epic Vegan food from Kyle... as a chef, I appreciate the true creativity of his food! We shared a Pono Bowl & a Burrito Bowl. Both were fully loaded with tons of fresh veggies. The veggie Soup of the Day as the base for the Pono was balanced, flavorful and perfectly complimented by the fresh veg additions. The chipptle sauce, cashew cream, and especially the fresh cucumber took the burrito bowl to the next level! THANK YOU for the best Vegan Meal we've had in Maui!

Poai K.

Yelp
I really don't get why people like this place, I'm sorry! It was really gross when we went, they were touching our acai bowl ingredients with their bare hands without washing their hands after handling payment and touching their masks because it kept falling off their faces. The guy handling payments and touching our food looked like he was either on drugs/drunk/hungover or had a long rough night and couldn't focus We will definitely never come here again

Yelp
Drove special to Farmacy to get my daughters last requests as she returns to college tomorrow only to find out they decided to close early. They said they close at 5 (even though it wasn't 5). Online showed 5:30, the sign above the door says 6:00. I guess I won't be returning there anytime soon.

Yelp
Bomb!! Not too sweet, great tasting and fresh fruit. Got the bowl with poi on the bottom, never had poi and açaí together but was pretty guuuuud. Toppings: strawberries, pineapple, lilikoi. Would definitely come back again Price: normal $10 for a regular size bowl Note: if you like Jamba Juice you might not like this, more of a raw ingredient type of bowl, not too sweet or extra stuff added.

Yelp
Their BBQ jackfruit sandwich on spirulina focatia is the bomb!!!! Seriously, I'm not sure how I have gone my entire life without ever having jackfruit but now that I know I've ordered this twice in the last two days. So ono!

Yelp
Late post from my experience yesterday. I don't know what happened to this place but service and attitude was TERRIBLE! I waited 20+ minutes for my food that they never started making. Two customers ahead of me and I had no more time to give. One of the customers ahead of me said she has been waiting for 45 minutes. I asked for a refund, and she followed suit and asked for hers as well. From what I gathered, the guy behind the counter was an owner and he was mocking the employees in a way that was beyond uncomfortable. Not going in this place any more. Took my money and went to the coffee store next door.
