Delicious prepared food and baked goods!! I will definitely return to try more of their in-house sweet and savoury items, and unique gourmet condiments. Their produce and some grocery items are SUPER expensive, but the prepared/counter goods made in house are priced well and high quality and worth the trip. Their sale prices are excellent. Looking forward to trying the whole menu!

Google
This is the high end food store in town. They have basic vegetables, bakery items, sauces and jams, frozen selections, cheeses and lots of gourmet food to go. It's all pricy but it's also great quality and if it's going stale they seem to drop the prices 40%. Popular with cottagers coming up from the city as well as locals. It's been around for years so they know what they're doing.

Google
Fabulous food. Fantastic staff. Great grocery items and lots of house made signature sauces and condiments. The deli counter is packed with ready to go food for a fabulous fast meal! Must go to this place!!

My husband and I fell in love with the quaint and cozy feel before even stepping foot inside. We had our wedding catered by Farmer’s Daughter and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the salmon was. From the start of our conversations, the staff were friendly and accommodating. Even throughout all of our changes. Definitely recommend the salmon, chicken, chicken bites, and garlic bread.

Google
Bougie small market/grocer. Unique items like CBD teas and locally foraged dried mushrooms. Small bakery/deli inside. Extremely overpriced though, paid $10 for a small bunch of asparagus. If you're looking for good produce check out the Anderson farm stand in Canvas brewing parking lot, much better prices and produce.

This is a cute little grocery store! They have more than just food. Their sweets are amazing! Their prepared food is amazing as well! Definitely should check it out!

Google
Was surprised to see some Indian snacks here. Samosas, Pakoras, chutney, naan pizza. Took Coffee, Samosas and veg naan pizza and enjoyed after reaching Algonquin Provincial Park. All taste great. They have some other snacks and dessert as well. Well located on the way to Algonquin Provincial Park. Next to second last petrol pump and in beautiful town. Will definitely stop here next time its on the way.

Google
Great place to pick up lunch or dinner, coffee, snacks and treats, baked goods, and good quality kitchen items such as bottled sauces, cheeses, etc. Everything is made fresh with high quality ingredients.

Yelp
Great service and they had vegan options! I got a chai latte and it's not too sweet very good they had oat milk too.

Yelp
I love cozy little country stores like this one. Previous reviews indicated vegetarian and vegan options so I figured they would be good with my kid's not life threatening egg allergy. Wrong. The person helping beyond the counter was dismissive telling me everything contained egg before I even got a chance to say we were not worried about cross contamination. In my experience, baklava does not have eggs in it. Thankfully my kid was happy with a unicorn stamped chocolate. Had a coffee and a cinnamon bun which were good. Grabbed some blueberry jam and coconut butter tarts to go.

Yelp
They have delicious ready made food such as chicken sandwich, vegan sandwich, cheese scones, as well as fruit, coffee and other baked goods. If you are looking for takeaway food when you are in cottage country, then this is the place to be! Food is healthy and well priced.

Yelp
We stopped by here on the way back to Toronto after skiing at Arrowhead Provincial Park. Amazing cherry pie. Savory lunch options looked incredibly appetizing; too bad we weren't that hungry. The grocery store looks nice; good quality selection, if a touch expensive.

Yelp
What a true treasure. We stopped in on our way to the cottage because our friends suggested it. First off, the service was outstanding. We asked for a gluten free sandwich, which they didn't have, but the chef was so accommodating and kind. She assured us that the sandwiches were made daily and that even though they weren't made to order, that there were many (and indeed there were MANY) other gluten free options. We settled on the mushroom risotto and some grilled vegetables. Both were outstanding. The risotto was, hands down, the best we ever ate -- even better than one of our favourite risotto experiences in Italy! Even though the Farmer's Daughter is about 5 hours from my home, I'm not exaggerating to say that I would consider making the drive to pick up some of that risotto again. The store is quaint, and stocked to the gills. They have a ton of vegetarian options and a billion different gluten free options, even frozen gluten free pierogi. If you're in the neighbourhood, definitely stop by. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a great little surprise driving out of Algonquin Provincial Park. We were only looking for coffee and we found really good coffee, the best pear/blueberry muffin in a comfortable cafe / upscale grocery store with beautiful flowers. Great business concept and a real touch of class!

Yelp
We had gone here for breakfast on our stay at Deerhurst which is about 5min drive away. Got a Monte Cristo sandwich and an Earl Gray tea. They were done perfect. The sandwich and tea wasn't cheap (about $11) however it's those times where one has to pay for gourmet quality. Very nice layout. Half of the store is a grocery and half is dining area. Very friendly staff. It's a stop we'd go back to if we find ourselves in Huntsville again. Recommend!

Yelp
The girl today seemed quite confused. I thought the bake goods were self-served and the girl asked if I already paid for that.....I was taken back because I saw someone do the same. I said to her no but we are ordering more food. So then we proceeded to order more food and she helped but clearly has no customer service skills. If you don't want your customers self-serving themselves where the bake goods are. Then put away the wax paper and the paper sleeves. So YOU can do it for us. Odd encounter.

Yelp
APPEARANCE "We entered through a local, gourmet food store. The prices reflected the selection - highly exclusive and organic for the most part. The perks were all the little stands with products to taste - chips, dipping sauce, cheeses, etc on the sides. There were hanging signs of refurbished wood, oddly enough just with a taped sheet of paper for posted notices. Definitely a missed opportunity to further enhance the mood..." SWIRL "The options were vast - plenty of pastries, cakes, sandwiches, grilled cheese, bagels, salads and some soups and stews. After picking out what we wanted to indulge in, we had to understand where to order. Dine in orders were done on one side, while the payment was on the other - close to where take-out was. Unfortunately, the walkway by the counters was very close to the tables in the middle, so sneaking by as we made up our mind made people a tad annoyed..." PALATE "My strew made it's way first. It had plenty of herbs, chunks of eggplant, tomato, zucchini, onions, peppers. A tad spicy, with some graded cheddar on top, it was perfect. It also came with chips..." This is just a bite of our full review..

Yelp
Great eatery and market by the side of the road. They make an excellent selection of vegetarian foodstuffs and the usual kale/lentil/puy products. Aside from this they also have a great selection of crackers, crisps and confectionary. There's a general sense of hygge that pervades the place, enhanced by the lovely smells. They were also very helpful when I asked them for directions advice.

Yelp
Cozy, cute and pleasantly surprising. I was a little apprehensive going to Farmers Daughter knowing that because I was up north, the chances of finding vegan friendly food options were slim, but I was wrong! If you need a quick grocery fix or a bite to eat, consider checking out this cute little store! I was able to snatch dinner for my partner and I (vegan cream of mushroom soup, crackers, hummus, some chocolate bars and apple cider) to enjoy! I also scored a great deal on some jams that are amazing, by the way. I wish this place was closer to home because then I would be popping in all the time! I look forward to my next trip through Muskoka and Huntsville just so I can pop in again.

Yelp
Farmer's Daughter is a very clean, organized and warm feeling country store in Huntsville, ON. I was recommended by my friend Michele to visit here while staying at Deerhurst Resort on Vacation. We purchased All Canadian, Local, Organic Veggies, Sauces and Pastries. We also ordered 2 Americano's which were very tasty and robust. The candy displays were amazing, I took many photos. Farmer's Daughter is very unique for the area and offered us specialty food that we need for our Vegan and Organic Lifestyle. Farmer's Daughter was a treat, we will be back. The hours are convenient being that this shop is open seven days a week, the staff is friendly but does not know much about exact ingredients in the food. I would still rate Farmer's Daughter a 5 star food boutique.

Yelp
If you like food and are in Huntsville you have to go here. It is comparable to most Toronto gourmet stores in selection and quality. Superb cheeses, local produce, prepared meals, gourmet pastas, etc. However, it had to lose a star because staff didn't know anything about the food sold.

Yelp
The food is excellent and this place has become a tradition after our Algonquin Park canoe trips. They have both meat and veggie options. Egg salad was amazing! Every time we eat here happens to fall on the Monday after a long weekend. Service is always excruciatingly slow. They should err on the side of caution and bring in extra staff to deal with the increased flow of patrons. I would otherwise give this place four stars for the food.

Yelp
Conveniently located right on Hwy 60 into (or returning from) Algonquin Park. Loved this little boutique market store it was very clean and well presented. They carry many locally produced grocery items: maple syrup, jams, honey, sauces, artisan cheese & meats etc They have a ready-made section with lots of vegetarian options for me that were delicious (I had a black bean and goat cheese quesadilla, roasted sweet potato with cheese and saffron rice - all yummy). While the food wasn't made to order, it was pre-made and displayed than heated for purchase, seems like it was all made in-store & tastes fresh.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Service is terrible. Charging out the wazoo for bland microwaved food. Entire staff is beyond stunned half wits. Don't like how you order something that needs sauce but you pay extra for the sauce that should come included. I'm not sure why it takes so incredibly long to order and get your food and then paying for it. This place has no flow. Staff are irritating and no personality.

Yelp
Do you roll hard when you go camping? Do you go to Algonquin Provincial park over the Labour Day weekend knowing it's going to downpour for 3 days? Does your tarp fall down in the middle of a storm and only 2 of the 4 campers have to scramble in SATAN-weather to put the damn thing back up again? Do you consume Scotch and Cigars as "entertainment" in shit weather? Do you get wasted on beers and ciders because its STILL RAINING and then proceed to get swarmed by a family of raccoons because some drunk dumb-ass from your camp-site left out ONE SINGLE FLIPPING HOT DOG BUN. Do you basically stay awake every single night in FEAR because the moment you enter the park there is a BIG YELLOW sign that warns you there is a BEAR IN AREA and that you best store your food properly...or you will DIE? Do you drain the battery on one of your cars because you ABSOLUTELY HAD TO PLAY WOLFMOTHER FOR 2 HOURS WHILE MAKING BREAKFAST? Yea, I'm still working out the kinks of this 'camping thing'. Where am I going with this? Basically, I camped with a bunch of dweeb dudes and by Monday afternoon, I was ready to get the fuck outta dodge. The camping gods looked down on us, and we managed to jump start the car and roll out before things got worse. So we roll out onto highway 60 to fill up for gas and conveniently located right across from the Esso, is the Farmer's Daughter . Advertised as a ~Gourmet Market~ with ~Fresh Everything~ I was like Yaaaaassss, real food!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food with no dirt in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The market is small and quaint and the first thing I hit is the refrigerated drinks, my eyes zone right onto the cold pressed fresh juices and I grab the Beet, Carrot, Apple & ginger concoction because lord knows my body is in desperate need of a detox. I move up to their main to go meals and everything looks absolutely delicious. I want to grab something I can eat in the car and their Reuben looks like a dream, so I order one and they ask if I want it grilled and I'm just about ready to say LAWD YES CHILD PLEASE GRILL THAT REUBEN and proceed to get down on my knees and thank whatever god that kept me safe from bears so I could taste that Ruben that was Panini-pressed. But I just end up saying "Yes Please" and "Thank you very much". The staff were wildly sweet and gentle. And when I finally bit into that Reuben sandwich, the sky opened up, a ray of sunshine hit my soul, and all was right with the world. And that cold pressed juice was hella refreshing and delicious.

Yelp
Had breakfast there this AM, sadly I expected more from this quaint little Huntsville stop. My egg breakfast arrived 15 minutes ahead of my partner's grilled cheese :( Her chai latte came in a mug with lipstick stains.. the staff "corrected" this by pouring said drink into a paper cup. Farmer's Daughter, not yet ready for the big show.

Yelp
Good hearty breakfast and fresh baked goods in the morning. Nice layout with cafe and grocery. Looks like it's mostly made in store or nearby

Yelp
A $5 coupon from Savour Muskoka brought us here, and I'm so glad it did. I loved, loved, loved everything about this place. All of the fresh baked goods we bought were *amazing*- cheese croissants, veggie pizza, cinnamon buns. Coffee was far above par, too. Can't comment on the jar of strawberry rhubarb grill sauce just yet, except to say it was made "in house". Wish we'd had a way to pick up more fresh produce or frozen pies, but we had another week of vacation before returning home and no way to keep fresh food that long.

Edward G.

Yelp
The people working here are stunned. They delivered most of the food to the table fairly quick enough, but getting them to deliver the simple side salad too 20 minutes. When asking to have it delivered to the table outside they looked at me like I had horns coming out of my head. The food is bland. They served milk that was expired. This was the worst part of my vacation by far. Stay far away.

Yelp
Vegetarians and Vegans take note, this place has several vegetarian and vegan options every day. The food is already prepared and you order at the counter deli style. You can have your food heated up and eat in or take it home and heat it up. They also carry fresh produce and many vegetarian and vegan specialty items you won't find in the small grocery stores in the area. We liked it so much we got food from there 3 times during our week stay. Great find and a must for any of you fellow vegetarians traveling in the area.

Sam S.

Yelp
Pros -great atmosphere -very accessible and good parking Con -terrible customer service. Employee was so rude when we ask for everything to be on the same bill -although everything is premade and they just warm the food in the microwave it still took them 20 minutes to get us what we order -they didn't provide us with utincils or condiments -out of five of us no one enjoyed the food

Greg J.

Yelp
Great spot for cheese , baked goods, meats and fresh vegetables. We love the coconut cream pie. Great spot to hit while in Muskoka.

Brendan P.

Yelp
Worst bagels I've ever had and a weak Americano. And I've had a lot of terrible Americano's & bagels! Might as well slap some salmon on a half cooked hamburger bun.

Pierre B.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed for a week at Deerhurst Resort in May, 2011. It became our morning routine for my wife to work out at Curves. Upon completion, we would cross the highway for our morning ritual. We would sit, relax, chat up a storm with a very friendly staff and then proceed to enjoy some fresh baked goods and tea. Since we had cooking facililities in our unit we would shop at the Farmer's Daughter for various fresh and frozen foods to enjoy at various times for lunch or dinner. What a delight the food turned out to be. We are coming up again from Aurora next Seprember and look forward to frequenting this unique and thoroughly enjoyable establishment.
