I took a slight detour to Granite Bay for two reasons #1 to eat at the Farmhaus Restaurant and #2 to see my old stomping friends, Bric Mantle and his brother Brac at their little curio shop, The Dead Cat there on the main drag. After a nice visit remembering things best forgotten, I headed straight to the Farmhaus restaurant and had an amazing dinner, the half chicken was perfectly cooked, and huge by anyone's standards, so I had them package half of it for later before it even hit my plate. Was the Farmhaus worth the detour...hell yes, and even more so..well worth 5 ☆☆☆☆☆!

Farmhaus saved my 50th birthday! I thought I had a reservation for 15 people at a local Italian restaurant next to the Galleria Mall in Roseville. Apparently, they didn’t bother to tell me that they couldn’t accommodate my group and I only found out by calling the day before to ask if I could add two more people. I was stuck with no place to go and nowhere that’s nice enough for a 50th birthday celebration with a private room. A friend suggested we try Farmhaus, so I called and was immediately met with a cheerful voice and genuinely concerned hostess. She said she’d take care of my group and they’d put us in the back building so we could have a private room. She wasn’t joking! We arrived the next night to find a gorgeous place all to ourselves, a fire in the fireplace, a private bathroom, and a cozy little building. I couldn’t have dreamt of anything better. My special birthday was saved and I’ll never forget the kindness we received by the staff. I was ecstatic to discover a place that has fondue - the best birthday surprise! Obviously, that’s what I had! Several others enjoyed the vegetarian ravioli. Thank you, Farmhaus!!! ❤️

Farmhaus is such a great spot. The food is fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything feels wholesome without sacrificing taste. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly, and it’s the kind of place you feel good about eating at. A true local favorite and absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Granite Bay (east of Sacramento, CA) for its welcoming farmhouse atmosphere and housemade menu items. The rustic place, and friendly vibe from our Server, Antonio, made this a wonderful experience. We had several "daily bread" choices as specials of the day, and about 10 other items that each sounded delicious. I settled on the pastrami sandwich with its housemade rustic rye bread with grilled red onion and seared lean pastrami. No disappointment with that choice. It's a nice luncheon place, yet with the nice wine selection to accompany their menu items, dinner would be a pleasure as well.

Both indoor and outdoor seating are nice. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. No complaints.

➕1⭐️ for having 🐶 dog friendly outdoor shaded patio seating to enjoy a late August Friday lunch with temperatures in the 70’s. Immediate seating for a party of four plus two small dogs. Food and service were good. Their garden proves fresh ingredients.

Lots of delicious farm to table options with a few vegetarian options. We tried the lamb shoulder, grilled prawns, arugula, and endive salads. Our cocktails were exceptional, too, although I don't remember what we had. One was sour and spicy and yummy.

The food was really good, well prepared, high quality, with great ingredients! Eating in the "back house" was a little cold, the service was slightly slow, and parking is limited. Notice my rating is still 4 stars. My wife and I were there on Valentine's Day so that all may not be typical. P.S. Some meals were altered to remove dairy

I've only been here for lunch and it's such a cute and quaint lunch spot with wonderful service. The bar has wine, beer, and cider only and there is a limited lunch menu, but everything I've tried from the lunch menu has been delightful and their bar selection has a broad variety to compliment both your dishes and your palettes. My favorite is the farm bowl subbing steak for the chicken.

I've been here twice now, over a year apart. The ambiance and decor is lovely and the restaurant itself is kept clean. Service is decently friendly. I definitely have a preference for dinner over lunch here. Our last visit was a couple of months ago for a lunch bday party. Food for the most part was good to great. We had a couple people split their sandwiches and there's a split fee of $2 or $3 (I forget) per plate. For a restaurant that is supposed to be more ethical by supporting local businesses/farm to fork type of restaurant, I found this part a bit unethical as the sandwiches would've been cut in half regardless of the split. Charging that extra to just place the other half of a sandwich is a bit silly to me considering there were no sides included or extra of anything added on (as some restaurants do give a little bit more of a serving with a split fee, fine dining included). With that, even with how delicious some of their items are (clams and chorizo and fettuccine dish), I do not plan on going back. Their price has went up 20-25% from the first to the last time I dined. I know inflation and running a food business is tough, but Charging $20+ for a small sandwich on top of a split fee is a bit much.

Great patio outside. Service was very good once we were seated. Food was fantastic. Highlights were the beet salad and hand cut fettuccine with bolognese, but everything was very good Very good diverse wine list Highly recommended

The restaurant itself has so much character. It's refreshing to not walk into the same industrial modern decor as every other newer restaurant seems to have adapted. You really feel like you're eating at a farm house! Plenty of outside seating and it was such a nice day when we went, we opted for that! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Although the manager (or owner- not sure) when we walked in didn't give a very welcoming vibe. We opted for the steak sandwich and garlic prawns. The sauce on the prawns is insane. The flavors dance in your mouth. The steak sandwich was just ok, a little hard to eat with how the steak was sliced. I actually enjoyed the limited menu as you can tell they really focus on those dishes instead of just throwing things in there for filler food. Quality over quantity for sure. However the drink menu is so sparse I wish that would expand a little. They only serve beer and wine and the majority of the wine was by the bottle. I opted for a $16 glass of Chardonnay but would have much preferred some more options. I'd come back for the quaint ambience and the garlic prawns alone!

First time dining here but it won't be the last. I read comments that the portions are small and for some dishes, that is true. I prefer smaller portions so I can order several dishes to try. From the "daily bread" to desert, everything we had was delicious. The outside seating area is very nice. Our server was very busy with a couple of large groups despite that, he was very friendly. It is a very nice restaurant, looking forward to going back.

This has been my favorite restaurant for several years now. The service is very personable and consistent. Andreea is my favorite server and has been wonderful each and every time. The ambiance is the best part, on certain evenings when the weather is just right you can easily feel as though you're in a small town in Europe. The food is always delicious and fresh. The menu is varying, I always stick to chicken and steak dishes and love it each time.

European feel to this place. Nice outside patio seating. No matter what you order it'll be tasty. They overcooked my steak last time but I'll forgive them, the place was super busy. I've eaten here many times and love it.

Our kids gave us a gift card to dine here, saying it's the kind of place we will love. They were right! Such a charming little place; I'd describe as rustic elegance. It got pretty crowded and loud throughout our dinner, but there is another building that they seat when it's busy and we were told it's much quieter. Our server, Haley was utterly delightful. She answered all my questions about the menu. Being our first time here we ordered way too much food, wanting to try it all. The leftovers were boxed and became breakfast. Started with the creamy artichoke dip. Quite tasty, but rich! Next up was the Roasted Beets. It arrived looking like a Jackson Pollock work of art. The combination of goat cheese, mandarins and beets was heavenly. The Day Boat Scallops were the star of the evening! Accompanied by mashed rutabagas, fennel and prosciutto. This was the entree Mr. S chose, but I ate half of it. I'd order it again (and again!). We love cauliflower so ordered that side dish and it didn't disappoint. The only dish that fell short was the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was a bit watery and lacked flavor. The mushrooms were good but the dish needs work. I should add that the Risotto was better the next day. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will try lunch!

My husband had the famous pastrami sandwich. It was excellent. They cure the meat themselves. Lean, tender and flavorful. I had clams with chorizo in broth. I am experimental but was skeptical over this combination. It was delicious. An abundance of clams. Patio seating was comfortable as the weather cooled. Service was great too.

A hidden gem in Granite Bay. The food: delicious, especially liked the daily bread appetizer which was like bruschetta but with prosciutto, peach jam and basil - it was fantastic! The service: five star service from the time I called in for a reservation, to when we were welcomed at arrival. Great service throughout our lunch - our waitress was friendly and knew exactly what we needed without us having to ask! Ambience: A stylish place inside, small tables, beautiful outside patio when it's not too hot outside.

My family loves this place and it always has amazing service! We ordered the chimichurri shrimp which was so delicious and the steak crostini which were also super tasty as appetizers. For entrees, we got the duck breast, pork chop, and rib eye. Everything tasted great, but the collard greens were too salty and the pork chop was a little bland. My duck breast came with bacon, beans, and strawberries which was a strange combination. I wasn't a huge fan of the strawberries, but the duck breast itself was super tender and tasty. Overall everything was great but I think the main entrees could use some improvement.

The advertise they take reservations. No one answers the phone number advertised for reservations. Voice mail box is full. I understand this a wonderful restaurant and great cuisine. Do I have to drive 40 minutes to make a reservation? Not sure I want to drop $200 for a birthday dinner I cannot confirm a reservation date and time

Food is so expensive everywhere, not just here, but I spent nearly $75 last night for less-than-mediocre food. The asparagus salad was ... fine. The chicharrones on top were so hard we ended up spitting half of it out. The pot roast was one of the driest pieces of meat I've eaten in the last 5 years. And that's all we got, no drinks, no dessert. $75 just to leave hungry. I've driven by this place a few times and always wanted to try it but the cute ambiance does not make up for the food or slow service.

The patio is enjoyable and our server was lovely, but overall I found this experience very underwhelming especially for something at this price point ($40 entree). Bone marrow appetizer had very little bone marrow and all I tasted was lemon and caper. Asparagus "salad" was grilled asparagus with large pieces of overly hard, unchewable chicharron on top. The salmon was pretty, but the little sauce and salsas on it had no flavor. My hubby said his pork shoulder mostly tasted of smokey beans. The portions are small, which would fine if the quality and flavor were present.

Had lunch this afternoon in the outdoor seating. Very quaint and quiet. The service was very good on this Saturday. I enjoyed the clams and chorizo. The broth was wonderful. A couple small slices of French bread would have been nice. The wine is totally overpriced. The least expensive glass of a red is $18. Maybe trying the patrons to purchase a bottle. I don't know.

We've been meaning to stop by this place after passing it on our way to Folsom lake many times. Sure glad we did. Relaxed, backyard dinner type vibe. The food was great. We had the bone marrow, artichoke dip and wagyu tri tip. Servers were very polite and friendly. Definitely a spot we will be returning to in the near future.

Based on the quality of the service and the food I would not hesitate to return. Except for the fact the table we were seated at was almost on top of two adjacent tables and the noise level, as measured on my phone DB meter, was in excess of 80 DB. This is a level that is considered hazardous to ones hearing and made it impossible to hold any reasonable conversation at the table. We did have a great meal, but a miserable experience as far as our annual anniversary celebration was concerned. If asked, our party would recommend your establishment based on the food and service, but not a location to enjoy it.

We came from out of town and my cousin recommended this place because it's one of her favorite places. I must say everything we we ordered was excellent! The service was great and the place is very nice inside. I would definitely recommend and go back!

This is a really nice place to come for a date night. We sat outside and the ambiance was really nice. There was live acoustic music and the appetizers and cocktails were yummy. The service was good and our server was very personable. We would definitely come back for another date night.

We had reservations at 7;30 tonight. Very excited to enjoy what I had verified two days ago on their menu. We were seated at a cocktail table for dinner??? Anyway, not only did they not have what I was told they'd have but then when we modified our choices, they then said we're also out of the the pasta. What the heck, why did you runs out of pasta when they know you have reservations Second bad experience at Farm Haus! Would not recommend this very expensive restaurant

Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Good attentive service. I love this place. The patio has this old charm and romantic setting. Perfect place for a date night.

Every time I eat here I get disappointed. The food is merely OK and the prices are astronomical. Yet I see can be busy. It goes to show that there's not many close local eateries in Granite Bay. Lots better in Folsom or Auburn.

Went for lunch with a GF , was so disappointed sent both our plates back to kitchen .. flatbread was not thawed , ice cold on bottom... shrimp crostini appetizer had bread that could break your tooth ...served daily bread with heavy nuts on top after being told there were no nuts .. we used to frequent this spot but the last 3 times have been so disappointed, is this new management . Will not be back , there is just not the same care and quality of food that it once was ...

The food here is incredible. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, and I truly think this is a hidden gem in the Sacramento area. That being said, we went for my birthday on Saturday and after receiving drinks and appetizers, we did not receive our entrees until two hours after we sat down. We were obviously forgotten, maybe because we were seated in the back house (there are two buildings), but we received no compensation for the wait and I honestly don't think our waiter would have ever remembered if we didn't ask. He didn't even say he forgot, just "I wanted to put more time between courses for you". Huh? I don't appreciate the lie. I also did not receive any sort of birthday treatment, which I feel is usually customary at a dinner restaurant. Anyways, if you go, I recommend getting the rooster tail drink. That was what I got and it was delicious and for two hours made me forget I was being starved to death. The bone marrow app was also very good, but was only about 2 bites worth. I would probably come back here because the food was good and I loved the look of the place, but I was VERY disappointed in the service and being lied to about being forgotten. Just own it and apologize, don't tell me you were doing it for my benefit. I am starving here.

We decided to try this place before our Way to Cool Race. We decided it would be an appropriate pre celebratory feast to fuel the next days event. The restaurant is very aesthetically appealing, you feel like you are dining in someone's home. It has a very intimate feel and the staff was very attentive. We decided for the Pork Chop based on numerous rave reviews on Yelp. They were excellent and worthy of the high praise. We also tried the Bone Marrow appetizers as well as the Shrimps. Both were very well done. Definitely worth the drive if you are in the area.

Their special mushroom pasta for the day was the favorite of the night. Their pasta is made fresh, in-house, and has a perfect consistency. You'd have to eat it immediately as it gets a bit clumpy when cooled. My husband ordered short ribs over polenta. The polenta was a bit too runny for my liking and the rib was overseasoned for me. My husband enjoyed the saltiness. The roasted bone marrow was good but underseasoned. I had asked for some sea salt flakes and fresh cracked pepper but it's not an option here at the restaurant. I was however provided table salt + pepper shakers. Overall, the food was good and the service was great. They don't have a liquor license but their wine options are great.

Don't blink or you'll miss this charming cottage set back off the road. Food was excellent! Will definitely return.

What a surprise! Such a good hidden gem! After hearing good things about this local secrete I had to try myself, and it didn't disappoint!

This place has a sweet, casual refreshing energy and ambience especially outdoors. We never felt rushed despite the place being crowded and full for dinner service. We ordered several dishes, of which I tried the vegetarian ones - burrata, house bread, cheese plate and risotto. All were fresh, flavorful and one could taste seasonal freshness in each dish. I also had kombucha which was a lovely crisp and not too sweet.

Pleasantly surprised! Enjoyed lunch on the back patio for a birthday celebration. We shared the mussels, shrimp, and a salad plus bubbles and wine. Can't wait to go back soon!

Cute and quaint with high quality, savory dishes where the ingredients are fresh. A wonderful selection of wines and service was on point.

I was part of a family dinner at Farmhaus recently. The restaurant is nicely appointed, the staff is welcoming, and almost all of the food was delicious. We shared appetizers, salads, and mains. The problem was the pasta. DO NOT order the tomato pasta. Two of us did. When it arrived, I Iaughed out loud, thinking that the server had mistakenly brought me a child's serving. It was a freakishly small serving. I looked at my niece, a delightful young woman who normally enjoys small portions, and she, too, was in disbelief. We actually considered relying on Grubhub to deliver a pasta dish from another restaurant in order to provide Farmhaus with an example of an adult portion. Not a large portion, just a normal portion. Also, the tomato pasta dish - unlike the many other shared items - was remarkably bland. When you factor in that the pasta dish is $28 (which translates to $36 after tax and a tip), the tomato pasta dish simply should not be ordered. Still, Farmhaus gets a 4-star rating based on the deliciousness of the other offerings, the environment, and the professionalism of the staff.

Wow so delicious and comfortable. Friendly attentive service. Beautiful patio. Tables spaced for social distancing in this day and age where we need safety considerations. A friend took me here for a girls night and a thank you for some help. We decided to have every course, share and sip it down with a delightful wine. Started with a delightful red blend called Conundrum. Loved it so much I got some to tie me over till I visit again. Began our meal with a hot artichoke dip and crostinis. Always a good dish. Then we got the pear salad and Caesar salad. There were 3 of us and we aren't big eaters, but so far we've cleaned our plates. Next was the main coarse to share we got the short rib on caponata, butternut squash ravioli, and steak over potatoes and mushroom jus. We divided everything up and dug in. My friend that brought us had had the short rib over potatoes last time she was in and preferred it that was. They had just changed to their fall menu before we came. I loved the caponata, but I love ratatouille and eggplant. I have to admit the caponata does kind of over shadow the short rib where the potatoes would have let it shine. Butternut squash ravioli was tender and filling smooth and sweet, yet savory enough to check that main coarse box. I got the steak and it was all our favorite of the night. The steak medallions were perfectly medium rare. So tender. The potato croquette was browned and crisped up nicely. Then it was covered in a mushroom jus that was so pumped with obscenely earthy goodness that only expertly cooked mushroom could bring. I ate every bite with a scoop of that. Next was dessert. We had big plans, but on our 2nd bottle of wine in addition to all the food we were getting pretty full. We ordered the Creme Brûlée anyways. I'm not sure if it was because I was full, but I didn't enjoy it. I thought the caramelized sugar on top was burned. It was very dark brown to black and tasted burned. I had a small bite from the side where it was less toasted and could see what it would have been like. Since I didn't order it I didn't want to make decisions about it. I would have sent it back. Other than that whoopsie I'm really looking forward to going back for ALL the rest.

Food was below average.. bone marrow was spoiled / fish entree was flavorless / pork chop lacked a lot flavor and bland. Service was terrible.. the waiter kept forgetting our orders and forgot to bring half the dishes. Drinks were forgotten. Me personally I was skipped over from ordering, twice. When I asked the waiter to order, she said, "I didn't realize you were even here!" Avoid this place.

Another incredible meal! This is our go to restaurant when friends are visiting or we just want to treat ourselves to a wonderful meal. We have had almost everything on the menu and can't say enough about the experience! The wine selection is excellent. The staff is polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Do yourself a favor and head over!

Food was fantastic, our waitress was fantastic, but the service and demeanor of the hostess was disappointing. She did not appear to care how we felt or what we wanted when we very politely asked if it were possible to be seated outside. We were not aware or told that we had to request this "privilege" when we called to make a reservation. As we sat in a corner inside a small and extremely loud dining room we watched nearly every other patron that came in after us be seated outside. This nearly ruined our birthday outing. I would not eat here again based on this experience. It's just not that special.

Fantastic service! I love when I find fresh and gorgeously delicious food that isn't covered with grease and battered. Had my first sour beer here and kinda obsessed now. Will definitely keep Farmhaus in the rotation!

This has become on of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have a small menu but they do every dish to perfection - everything we've tried is amazing. Their cocktails are soju based I believe due to their liquor license but so good! Great wine list and ambience. We keep on returning

Fantastic food in an excellent environment with customer service to match. Parking can be tricky but well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Hubby and I left hungry. I ordered the salmon. I'm a 4'11" grandmother; I'm a small eater. This is the first time in decades I've left an establishment hungry. The food was adequate in taste. I liked that they plated it with dry blue flowers. A $41 dollar plate shouldn't leave me hungry enough to eat a kindergartner. The waitress tried to sell me some bread for $15 ; I'm a type 2 diabetic,so that was a hard no. They decorated the tables with sprouted grass. Maybe I'll eat that.....

The taste of everything we ordered was great - the portions not so much. Our gnocchi only had 8 (and small at that), matched with a few tiny vegetables and an 8th bowl of sauce. We sat at the bar and the bartender even said "I think they thought of making that an appetizer." It was $28. Same went for the mixed greens. Service was great, taste of all items great, but a $130 on a Tuesday night for 2 people and left hungry. Hard to justify going out to eat on that experience.

Quaint smaller restaurant with excellent menu and delish food. Inside or outside dining. Absolutely lovely.

Such a hidden gem in the heart of Granite Bay. Excellent service, food and drinks! I like sitting at the bar but there is also indoor and outside dining.

I'm unsure what happened to this restaurant because it used to be great. I went last week to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and ordered the flat iron steak. When the server delivered it to me at the table (God bless her) she took one look at it and offered to return the plate because the steak was so overdone. Then after waiting another 35 minutes for a new plate while my wife and I ate we polished off our bottle of Pinot only to have the second dish arrive and after two bites the meat was so tough and gamey I had to return the plate a second time. Never have I eaten at a restaurant and had to return a plate twice. The management never came to our table to apologize or offer an extra glass of wine or comp my dish. One of the most unprofessional culinary experiences I have had in over 15 years. Not sure who is running the place these days but I certainly felt not welcomed nor am I ever going back. Sorry, I should have taken a picture of the steak because it was so gross. But I was so hungry and distracted. Not a good evening out to celebrate.

Absolutely horrible food $50 for ribeye that you couldn't even cut with their steak knife the plate was so hot I burnt my arm and still have a mark 24 hours later. The waiter didn't bother to warn me about the plate being hot nor did he pay any attention to the un eaten food on the plate or to the fact that we were sawing at the meat...

Wanted to say what an exceptional meal and evening we had recently at Farmhaus - it was my birthday and was greated for some drinks first at the bar. Then to our table. Our waiter was fantastic. We brought our own wine and the corckage fee is reasonable. The food was fantastic. We shut the place down and appreciated that they didn't push us out, but we knew that they were closing. Thank you for a great evening

Love the pastrami here! Great outdoor and indoor seating. A great selection of salads and desserts as well.
