I stayed overnight for a work trip, what a brilliant place! Room was huge! Great amenities, ample parking and a great breakfast too! I didn't have an evening meal so haven't yet marked on atmosphere but the room was brilliant, check in/out process was seamless and the flatbrrad at breakfast was exactly what was needed! Look forward to my next stay

Food was amazing! Bar service (drinks) a bit long wait to be fair. Staff who was serving us was grateful but there were little mistakes while serving food- Missing side dishes

Expected more for the price we paid for our room. Expensive and not value for money at all. For £175 I at least expected a couple of biscuits to nibble on. The decor was nice, lighting moody and terrible. Cobwebs all over the lights, toilet seat so cheap and nasty it kept sliding around when we sat down. Toilet refilling and hot water running was extremely noisy for our room and the room next door. Fan in bathroom stays on for 10 minutes after switched off and was very noisy. Cord for operating window blind so high up I had to stand on the seat-boxing around the window to reach it, window was very heavy and difficult to close. Room was noisy from the room next door because their bathroom was a few feet away from our bed so you could hear people squirming around in the bath, not what you want to hear to wake you up first thing in the morning. Check in was done online but when we got there we had to ‘check in’ again to get our key and confirm ourselves, which was slow standing holding outfits and baggage for 10 minutes on crutches. Door to room wasn’t easy to close quietly as it was on an auto-slam safety thing and heavy. The only positive thing I can say about this visit is that the bed was comfy! Sorry but I’m being honest and not impressed with paying such a high amount for one nights stay when everything wasn’t great.

Looked for a dog friendly pub for something to eat and fell across this place. Met at the door by a lovely girl and she explained where we could sit with our dog. We ordered the food which arrived promptly. It was very good and plenty of it. The atmosphere was great too. Will definitely be back

Quick stop for food on our travels. We found this pub as it was on our route, booked only an hour before we stopped. Very friendly service from Isaac, and lovely fresh good quality food. Service was very quick and good value for money. Will definitely stop there again when we are next making the same trip

The staff were friendly, attentive and professional throughout. The function ran smoothly because of their attention to detail. There hard work made the guests and us feel at ease. A class act.

Nicely furnished pub with some period features. We went for Sunday lunch and found it a little loud due to the large space and lack of soft furnishings to absorb the acoustics of other diners. However the roasts were decent enough: lovely big Yorkshire puds, and roast potatoes. A little skimpy on the stuffing and the meat was a little bland but for a pub lunch was worth the money. They’re testing out a new QR code table ordering system which allows you to order your drinks from the table with a 10% discount. Ours arrived at the same time it would have taken us to wait at the bar so worth giving it a go. Some good extras for patrons like board games and dog biscuits make this a viable family lunch option.

A poor experience from start to finish unfortunately. We met here as it is half way between us and a friends house and when we’ve been before, albeit a while ago, it was nice. The time, I reserved a dog friendly table but when we arrived, we had to wait at the host desk for nearly 5 minutes to be seen. No table had actually been reserved for us and we were told to choose our own table. Most tables left were high bar stalls, but having two children and two dogs these were not appropriate. We chose a table, but it had not been cleared from the previous party. We were also not given menus by the host, so once sat, we had to source menus. We ordered at the bar, informing the staff that one member of the party is celiac and specified which meals needed to be gluten free. Despite this, when the ‘gluten free’ Camembert arrived, we had been served the standard version. I took this back to the kitchen and was told this was not in fact gluten free and a new one would be made in 2 minutes. 2 minutes later, staff came over to tell us that there was in fact no gluten free Camembert in stock. I requested a refund, but by this point, one member of our party had a starter and the rest of us went without. The mains the seemed to take a while to come out. The gluten free bacon chop and the ultimate burger were satisfactory. The lamb rump duo however, was not worth the cost, I feel, given that it was one of the most expensive meals on the menu but the plate was filled with 2/3 potato, a small amount of veg and two 2inch slices of meat. Throughout the meal, no staff came to do a check on the table to ask how the meal was either. We decided to skip dessert and left.

Yelp
I had a great visit to the Farmhouse at Mackworth. Staff were friendly and the interior of the restaurant is modern and quirky. Good selection of food on the menu and they have their own pizza oven which is a bonus. Pizzas here are nice but not as good quality as somewhere like Prezzo. I ordered the chicken breast dish cooked in its own juices. This was a good dish but a little on the small side, luckily I ordered a side to go with it. When we went, it was two for one on cocktails which were tasty. Some of the items on the menu, however, were missing ingredients listed on the menu. The pizza said it came with sun dried tomatoes but it didn't and the side of veg said it came with garlic and chilli, instead it was served with chilli and mustard seeds. Overall an enjoyable visit, I would be happy to return and try out some of the different dishes.
