A place I have passed many hundreds of times going to Derby, but never ventured in. So we thought we would try it for a family meal and catch up. It's a lovely place and nicely set up, with friendly attentive staff. The food though, was ok. Most had the turkey and two of us had the vegetarian Thai style red curry. The roasts went down well, although half the plate was Yorkshire pudding (not the only place guilty of this). Nicely cooked meat but, around one of each vegetable! What's wrong with a couple of dishes of steaming veg for the table to help themselves to? The curries were pleasant, but as with most similar dishes elsewhere, there was a lack of protein. Nice wild rice for a change, but wasn't drained, so it made the curry watery. Desserts were nice but not worth £7.99 (the zesty lemon tart had a very brief encounter with a lemon)! Overall, nice but expensive for fairly standard food and please get some vegetarian and vegan advice for the menu. Surprising for such a large brewery chain.
