Farmhouse of the Palms

Frank and Veronique have crafted a little slice of paradise here - our stay was perfect. The property itself is stunning. A once-working farmhouse that has been lovingly restored, with the house interior and rooms a perfect blend of traditional and minimal. The farmhouse is located high in a valley overlooking the town of São Brás de Alportel and it's surroundings, with stunning sunrise to sunset views from the pool and garden. Breakfast was also perfect - delicious local produce (including preserves made from fruit from the property) in the beautiful garden. Veronique and Frank were perfect hosts - knowledgeable, charming, completely unobtrusive but happy to provide as many and much information and tips as you might need. One of the very best properties I've ever had the privilege to stay in. We will be back!

Absolutely stunning, in every way! Farmhouse of the Palms is a true paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of this beautifully restored property, the magnificent views and the attention to detail from owners Frank and Veronique. Both hosts struck the perfect balance - never intrusive, but always on hand to chat to guests, explain the history of the property and proudly share their experiences in converting their much-loved property into one of the most breathtaking B&Bs we've ever stayed in. We were in Suite 4, which has its own delightful roof terrace with sun loungers and a day-bed. It had a perfect 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape, and we loved watching the sunrise, sunset and the stars emerge in the sky at night. The room itself was huge - combining modern comforts with authentic Portuguese decor. The pool was fantastic for taking a dip and lounging in the sun, and the entire communal area is meticulously planned to create a 'home away from home' vibe. It was also nice to learn that Frank and Veronique had used local tradespeople and stores to transform the property into the magnificent B&B that it is today. One of the most striking features of our stay, however, was the delicious food. Breakfasts are carefully curated each day to showcase the best of local produce and are tweaked each day to add variety. Frank and Veronique were also incredibly adaptable at handling food allergies. Honestly, this is one of the most breath-taking stays we have had, in any part of the world. The warm hospitality, picturesque setting and absolute attention to detail will make this a stay we won't forget. We will certainly be back!

My husband and I arrived at Farmhouse of the Palms and were immediately greeted by Frank, who gave us a tour and shared the history of his establishment. This place was serene and beautiful and magical, and we felt so lucky to have experienced these wonderful surroundings. The room was perfect and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

My stay at Farmhouse of the Palms was like a dream. From the beautiful property to the warm hospitality and everything in between, it was an incredible stay. It’s clear how much love and care the owners, Frank and Veronique, put into ensuring each of their guests are happy during their stay. They were on top of everything, so kind and welcoming, and really went above and beyond in making me feel at home. My room was so beautiful, the pool and garden area was amazing, the food was made fresh and so, so tasty. It was a perfect weekend in paradise and I can’t wait to return!

I honestly can't recommend this hotel enough. It's a gorgeous property which has been done up beautifully. The property is in a great location in a non-touristy part of the Algarve and is run by Frank and Véronique who do everything they can to make sure your stay is perfect (which it was) - loads of information on the best restaurants, day activities, best beaches etc. They really give you everything you need and more! There are only 7 rooms so it feels super private and relaxing - never too many people by the pool or around the property and just feels so tranquil. It's worth noting there's no restaurant on-site but there's an honesty bar with alcoholic and soft drinks at good prices which is great. The breakfast was also a highlight, it's like a 5* tasting menu every morning with something new every day. It really was one of the best breakfasts I've had. We cannot wait to return ASAP. Thank you Frank and Véronique for making our stay so special.

This is a very special place to escape everyday life and get some rest. I would give even more than 5 stars if possible :) It‘s very calm and you almost feel like you have booked an entire villa for yourself. The hosts are very nice and gave us a great introduction to the house and all the little architecture details when we arrived. Everything is decorated with a modern, stylish touch combined with traditional Portuguese farmhouse style. The pool and garden is beautiful. The rooms are also very clean and modern, the bed and pillows were super comfy compared to other hotels. The breakfast was outstanding, with a new fresh smoothie every day. Also the dinner they do twice a week was fantastic! I could go on with many more details... everything just perfect!!

We had a wonderful stay at Farmhouse of the Palms. It is beautifully designed, well located, and exceptionally managed. Breakfasts were delicious and different every morning. The pool was refreshing during hot days. Véronique, Frank and the whole team were welcoming and helpful with recommendations. We would hope to come back, and will definitely recommend this place to others!

The most beautiful and peaceful little hotel in Portugal! A little piece of heaven with kind hearted people. Veronique and Frank are wonderful hosts and their team is as special as the place. The breakfast is fantastic and Vera’s smile is priceless! Maria cooks the best clams you can get… all in one, serene atmosphere and THE place to be in Portugal!
