"The original Punta Higuero Lighthouse was built by Spain in 1892, then redone in the '20s by the U.S. government. There's no effort involved in getting here and scoping it out, even if you don't fancy yourself a lighthouse aficionado; in fact, it's unmissable when you're hanging out in Rincón and visiting the surrounding park. The lighthouse, a sight unto itself, also offers views of surfers on the ocean and great sunsets over this tranquil beach town." - Alicia Kennedy
Faro Punta Higüeras is a pretty cool place to visit. The views are nice and the vibe is relaxing, but there are a few things that could definitely be better. Right now, the road leading to the lighthouse has some construction going on, and honestly, it takes away a bit from the experience.
Also, I’m pretty sure there used to be a small shop or stand nearby where you could grab something to eat or drink...but it looks like it’s gone now (unless I’m mistaken). That little touch made a difference, so it’s a bit of a letdown not having it there anymore.
Still worth checking out, but hopefully they bring back some of the charm it used to have.

Beutifull site other than the campers and protesters that are not even from the islands some of them. What can we do. Beutifull scenes and view. Great historic place.

Great place for incredible sunsets & walking off dinner. Right around the corner is a small bar to wine down while enjoying the beautiful beach/ ocean views. The sounds of the forest are unmatched & relaxing! Plenty of parking & Plenty to see!

Absolutely beautiful. The best location in PR for sunset lovers. This place is well thought. There is a walkway around the lighthouse and over the cliff with great views, no matter where you stand. Food and drinks are available at the restaurant or you can bring your own. Plenty of parking. Drone friendly. No fee. Access to the lighthouse not possible. No reservations necessary. Short walk from the parking to the lighthouse. Best sunsets ever!

Beautiful place to see the sunset! It’s my favorite place to go, to do so! You have to try the mojitos and empanadas! You will love it

Beautiful historical light house, and the ocean very is peaceful. While we were there we spotted two humpback whales in the water. 🐋
We watched the sunset on the horizon. It was a great way to spend the evening.
There is also restrooms inside the park and a small cafe with a bar as well.

Yelp

Yelp
Stopped to see the lighthouse and walked around the park area. I would stop again if in the area. Beautiful views!

Yelp
A tourist destination in the city of Rincon, Puerto Rico. The site is free and you are able to tour the park area. The parking and park is free. A nice spot right near Domes Beach.

Yelp
The official name of this lighthouse is Faro Punta Higüera. The lighthouse itself isn't that impressive. What makes this a cool spot to visit is the park surrounding the lighthouse. There is a boardwalk, gazebos, and tons of green space. And, of course, the view of the ocean is spectacular. I went during the day (and it started to rain heavily), but I'm betting the best time to visit might be at sunset. Family friendly environment. There is also a bar, Ola Sunset Café, that serves your typical Puerto Rican snacks and drinks. From the bar area you get a great view of Domes Beach. I believe there is even a downhill trail that leads to the beach.
I highly recommend checking this spot out when you're in Rincón. There is plenty of parking available. There were even tents in the parking lot with local vendors selling goods.

Yelp
Love it

Yelp
This lighthouse is located right near the beach. Definitely the perfect place to have a romantic walk around the boardwalk and watch the sunset.
Grab a drink from Ola Sunset Cafe and enjoy the views!

Yelp
Must see while in Rincón. The trail surrounding the Faro is really short, but makes for good views and photo-ops. From what I saw, they have occasional stands selling jewelry and goods, and also host yoga out here.

Yelp
We enjoyed our first visit to El Faro so much that we went there nearly every day on our vacay. We walk the nature path, watch the surfers, enjoy a light lunch and generally take in the beautiful view and beach. The food is good and served at the right temperature (cold beer and hot burritos). Go there and have fun. There's plenty of parking even when busy and there's a vendor selling cold water bottles!

Yelp
Great views for pictures. Defenitely a tourist spot but so worth it especially during sunset. Would come here for a photo op.
