In-Depth Review of the Fife Arms in Braemar, Scotland - AFAR

"A warm, packed local bar and kitchen on the village main street serving hearty local fare — plates of haggis and tatties among the dishes seen being ferried from the kitchen — and offering a convivial neighborhood feel." - Laura Dannen Redman

Stopped for lunch and although busy, found a table quickly. Menu is good, plenty of choice but not overwhelming. Atmosphere was great 👍 Service was very good. We didn't have to wait long for our food which was hot and super tasty. We have a doggy bag ( box) to takeaway leftovers.

We stopped in without a reservation and they fit us in. Delicious late lunch. My kids asked to return the next day for the fish & chips (one of the best tartar sauces I've tasted). They had an incoming reservation so we took a trio of desserts home. The tiramisu was alright but the honeycomb cheesecake and chocolate tart were excellent, even 2 days later.

This place provides some seriously tasty dishes in a cozy environment that you won't want to leave. Grab a seat on the couch by the fire, or scooch up to the bar and have a chat with the bartender. Regardless, you will find some friendly people.

Staff are first rate, friendly, chatty, helpful. Food was excellent. Beer was good, atmosphere inside seemed very agreeable, decor certainly inline with what you'd expect in pub. We were sat outside with the mad mutt, they serve outside, but only at the decking. Entry to the beer garden is via the pub, assume they've probably had too many dodgers walk out on them. Only minor niggle from me is part the way through the afternoon they turned on music outside. I can't expect music to be to my taste, but it was quite loud and really quite poor, a lot of rap for instance. Music aside, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I came here with my daughter shortly before the kitchen closed, and after a long hike. The wait staff was very accommodating, and happy to serve us even though they were very busy and so closed to closing. We ordered the haggis and soup of the day, and were very impressed. By far, the best haggis I've ever had (as a Canadian). The servers were very friendly, attentive, and the food came quickly. Overall, the best place we've stopped on our trip so far.

Popped in to Farquharsons Bar for some food during a recent visit to Braemar. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who managed to find us the only table available early on a Tuesday evening. It’s always a good sign when so many tables are booked. We started with a nice bottle of Merlot then had one Beef Cobbler and a Venison casserole. The food was amazing, very flavoursome and well presented with a good tasty selection of vegetables. This was followed by some Chocolate ice cream just to finish things off. Staff throughout were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, we will definitely be back for more. On our return visit we had Chicken with Sesame seeds and Chilli dip followed by Beef Cobbler with mash and one Fish & Chips. All very tasty , thanks.

Just dropped by on Saturday evening and the tables inside were fully booked but the outside had some empty seat. We sat outside right next to River Dee. 😍 Foods were served right away and very tasty. Would love to visit as we get there.
