Definitely worth a visit! We got: the Grick (5/5!) Chef Beef - yummy and so big. This is sharable between two people even. Cherry lemon crofle - texture is so nice! Definitely recommend. Lavender donut - nice solid lavender flavor! Snickerdoodle cookie - would not recommend. Dry and hard. Didn't seem fresh. Place to sit outside on a nice day! Tons of flies in the window, though, which was a little off putting.

Google
The store has an eclectic vibe but serves up delicious, reasonably priced sandwiches. The staff was efficient. A few tables in store but really geared for takeaway.

Tried the Grick, worth every cent. Fresh quality ingredients. Efficient & polite service. Highly recommend.

Google
Unique sandwich experience! Amazing cronuts!!!! They have rotating specials and a veg option which I really appreciate 😊

Google
It pains me to write this review because I have had really good sandwiches in the past. The last three times I’ve been there they’ve been borderline unedible. Their buns are insanely good, but they’re just not that good when you have to take all the meat and contents out as well as a burnt fragrance/ burnt on both sides. My latest was the Montreal smoked meat, which I get has fat in it like bacon would, but this was just chewy fat with mayo on it. I had to spit out the few bites I even took. When you get a good one they are so good though! I loved this place so much and went out of my way so many times but this is fairly consistant now so I’m sad. Hope you get a good one! Thanks PALS.

Google
The food’s solid and the cooking staff seem chill, but the front counter service always feels cold and a bit entitled. A smile or some friendliness wouldn’t hurt. Not really tip-worthy when the interaction feels like a transaction. Would love to see the energy match the kitchen’s vibe.

Google
Had my first sandwich today, Porcetta special and OMG. The pork, the sundried tomatoes, swiss, arugula and the bread!!!. Sauce was very flavourful and just lightly toasted. Absolutely a new favourite. You would never know it was there in this area. I hear there are line ups and disappointed customers when they run out over lunchtime, it's that popular. Oh and staff were friendly and courteous. Exactly what you need. Go there and you will not be disappointed.

Google
Whoever created the Grick has been emptying my wallet since my first bite many years ago. I have easily eaten over 100 Gricks & every single one has been top tier, and arguably, life changing. Most special breakfast sandwich in YEG - it has a special place in all of our hearts. & don’t even get me started with the cronuts…. what would we all do without Farrow????

Yelp
Good thing I live a decent drive away from this place or else I would not be able to stay away! The menu at Farrow is great, and they're not just about the sandwiches, the desserts are delish too! This time I got the Fat Larry, which has a magical combination of pulled pork, secret sauce (dunno what this is but its tasty), cheese, onion, pickles, and arugula. The mix is very cohesive, and tastes great. There's only 4 sandwiches on the menu, I can see this as being their focus on having a good, small set of items, honed to near perfection. The sandwiches are around the $13 range. Also got the strawberry filled chocolate cronut. The cronut has a great texture and is sprinkled with sugar on top. Not surprisingly, its quite sweet, maybe a bit too much but definitely worth the try if you haven't before.

Yelp
Awesome food but the person taking our order (dark hair and pony tail with arm tattoos) was not friendly. She seemed annoyed with our presence. No eye contact, no smile, no nothing. Please smile and at least pretend you are happy to have customers. Again, great food.

Yelp
I really enjoy the sandwiches & coffee from Farrow but the cronut (sticky gooey heaven of a treat) is the real reason I show up here. If there are a few left when you arrive and there's others in front of you, start bartering for someone to order one for you or be at peace there will most likely be none when you get to the till. Donuts are pretty tasty here too and they've got neat flavours. At Halloween they had some goolish looking ones that were almost over my very tolerant sweet level. The vibe here is fun and definitely hipster. I like that you don't have to wait too long for your order so you can get back to work in a decent time with food (extra fun is to enjoy eating in front of everyone that will want to know where it came from as it smells that good). They've got a few standard sandwiches and then have one or two that are new. Their breakfast sandwich choice was what I went with today and it fills me up nicely but not too much. As I need to enjoy my cronut! If you get a pour over coffee, it does take a bit extra time but I think it's worth it. They'll also work with your reusable cup without any odd looks like one would get at chain establishments if it isn't their branded cup. Also, they've always got an assortment of coffee to try. I prefer to try the beans from Ethiopia and then Guatemala as my second choice but I've never been disappointed trying from elsewhere too. I'm not sure if they still have this going but last year my friend received a coffee club card as a gift which gave her a bag of coffee for so many set months. Really cool idea for someone that is an avid coffee drinker. There's a few downsides to this place. Street parking can be tough to grab at lunch time (especially on a Sunday with so many churches in the neighbourhood but 109 st location is hit and miss with this too). There's limited seating (but this space is actually the larger of the two locations and in summer they do have some extra outdoor options). The bathroom is tricky to get in and out of (again limited space for seating can sometimes end up causing a person or chair to randomly be in front of the bathroom door). Lastly, you need to be able to go up stairs without a railing to support you (for someone like me with mobility issues, it's a deciding factor if I go here or somewhere else when I'm having a bad mobility day). I do return as I'm always treated well, enjoy the atmosphere when I do get to sit & enjoy my food at Farrow & well that cronut of a sticky gooey greatness is pretty darn tasty!

Yelp
If you're looking to stop by for a quick lunch break in the Ritchie area, Farrow is a wonderful option. They have their famous Grick sandwich as well as several feature sandwiches to choose from. I feel like this place is a hipsters paradise lol. The staff here is always incredibly friendly and patient and I love the desserts they offer here too. I highly recommend their Cronuts (croissant donuts) if they have them because they are the BOMB. The sandwiches are delicious, albeit a bit expensive. The flavours are so unique and I look forward to the new features every time. You can also customize your sandwich to your liking which is nice. Parking is hard to find, especially if it's a busy weekend. Street parking is usually full but on weekdays, it's not that bad

Yelp
I recently visited again, and it looks so much nicer inside. And the sandwich blew me away again.

Yelp
During the beginning of quarantine (and still now) we tried to support as many local businesses as possible. Farrow lived up to the hype. Had the Grick Middle and A chicken sandwich (can't remember the name). And grabbed some donuts of course. Both sandwiches were really good; ended up sharing both instead of having one each.

Yelp
Trendy sandwiches place with coffee and donut deserts. It's in a house converted to a coffee shop. They only have 4 sandwiches to choose from. I like the roast beef best and I always ask for whole wheat bread or rye if they have it. Mine came with arugula and pickled onions. People like the pizza sandwich as well. Not so much the vegetarian sandwich. The prices are expensive though. They didn't have lattes. The donuts are simple but with heavy icing toppings, not my favourite. The place has line ups out the door. There is a patio.

Yelp
This is a place I have been overlooking for a long time due to its deceptive and discreet location. I have heard whispers about this place and thought I would check it out. Located along 76 ave before the 99st intersection, it can be missed because it looks like a small house converted into a restaurant, along a road of residential homes. Parking can be a challenge in that there are restrictions of parking along the side road. Upon entering, I enjoy the quaint atmosphere of a small coffee/sandwich shop. Although the selection of sandwiches was limited to only 4, this maybe by due to design reflective in its artesian way of quality over mass production. Moreover, the 2 sandwiches I have had so far were amazing. 1. The Chief Beef and 2. The Grick Middle. The first is a beef lovers dream with roast beef, a sharp horseradish aioli, an amazing slice of cheese I cannot identify, potato chips a tonne of greens held all together by a crisp but firm artesian bread. The second 'Grick Middle' is like a breakfast sandwich consisting of bacon, cheddar, greens, aioli, topped off with a fried egg an held together with a ciabatta bread. The other two sandwiches is a pork themed sandwich and the other a vegetarian. I may try these in the future. Although the service is prompt, you are still waiting impatiently with other fellow customers hoping to have their name called out due to the high volume of customers that frequent this establishment. Although my stomach growled impatiently, waiting in anticipation, this is indicative of a high demand for this product. Although I would've liked more selection and easier parking, The sandwiches were amazing and satisfying. Therefore, if I were you, I would check this place out and try the sandwich menu items before they switch them out with other intriguing creations.

Yelp
My favourite restaurant in Edmonton. The atmosphere is amazing, always playing great music. The staff is friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are incredible, the desserts are delicious.

Yelp
Farrows is a great place to come for unique an different sandwiches. The workers here always friendly and it's always a good place to start your day with a coffee and the grick middle, hands down the best sandwich they have. Today's choice was a chief beef that has roast beef, ruffle chips, pickled red onion, horseradish aioli, and arugula. Also grabbed one of their donuts because how are you suppose to pass on a Oreo cheese cake donut. Stop by!!

Yelp
It's hard to say anything bad about Farrow. I started coming to Farrow at their original location (8422-109 st) at the start of 2017. I've probably visited Farrow over 20 times throughout the year and every time the food has been amazing. The Chief Beef sandwich is a classic that is usually on the menu and is probably one of my favorites. At farrow you can find a new sandwich about every couple of weeks. They come up with the craziest combinations of flavors that somehow always turn out amazing. It's a treat to visit this place and try something new at almost every visit. Their new Ritchie location is bigger and has more street parking available. It's my favorite location to visit. I would easily give this place a 5 star rating because their food is amazing but I have to deduct one star for 2 reasons: 1. Hours. The Ritchie location is only open until 3. When I crave farrow, its at all times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I just wish they were open later. 2. Wait time. When they're busy (which is often) it can take a long time to get your order. I've waited about half an hour for a sandwich during the lunch rush. I feel like they could improve on this, but hey what do I know. Visit Farrow if you want to have the best sandwich of your life and some delicious, fresh, good quality coffee.

Yelp
Located in a refurbished house just south of the Strathcona district is Farrow, a rotating sandwich/coffee shop. All I can say is this: visit and eat! You will feel like a hipster. On my visit, I had The Vegan (sliced tofu, amazing vegenaise-based sauce, cilantro, other fresh veggies, lovely bread...) and it was very very good. Super fresh ingredients and big enough to share. The menu features 4 different sandwich types daily; 1 option is veg-friendly. Prices are between $9-12/sandwich. Worth it! I visited during the week (off-hours), so it was pretty quiet, but I imagine that the brunch, lunch, and dinner hours could get busy. The place is pretty small with limited seating inside and out; I think Farrow does a fair amount of takeaway orders. Anyway, go and visit and eat. Then swoon. It's that good!

Yelp
So good. My roommate always raved about Farrow and finally I decided to tag along. I'm so glad I did. Their sandwiches are unreal. We usually go for breakfast/brunch and grab a coffee too. The staff is friendly and pleasant. There's limited seating so grabbing it to go is great. Or if it's a beautiful day eat outside. For a tiny place I never knew existed before. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an off the wall sandwich place.

Yelp
We both had the Mason Hamsey and it was delicious. The bread was super fresh. It does get very busy here on a nice day but we were able to get a table outside no problem at 1:30 on a sunny Saturday. Loved the Real Brew root beer too. I'd been wanting to try this place for a while since I live in the hood and it seems to be really popular. Now I know why! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm usually not a fan of sandwiches, but I have to admit, Farrow makes a pretty good one! This was my first time here and I was really impressed! I ordered Nic's Trick'd Grick, and it was delicious! It came with 2 eggs, pork belly, apple slices, cabbage and Pappa Chow's curry mayo. The apples added a nice crunch and sweetness, while the curry mayo a nice kick of spice. I did find that $13 for a sandwich was a little expensive. However, I did enjoy it! I will definitely come back. Hopefully when they're not all sold out of cronuts either.

Yelp
If there is one thing that anyone knows about me, it is that I love Farrow. I have been going to the OG location near Garneau for years and was beyond excited when they opened up this new location. It keeps all of the classic Farrow things - chalkboard decor, rotating menu, fun slide-y order line thing. It also added on some new things to the lineup - donuts, poptart streudel type snacks, and other pastry yummies. The food is across the board awesome. I recommend getting the class Grick Middle. It's amazing and there is a reason that it is a staple on the menu. Other popular sandwiches include the Chief Beef and Tricked Grick. The menu usually has about 4 sandwiches on it, one of which is a vegan option. Their social media will usually have pictures posted if you are wondering what they currently have, but it does change pretty frequently. There is limited seating space inside but there are picnic tables outdoors for the warmer months, plus you are welcome to bring your dog out there! P.S. If you get a Grick and a coffee before 10am, it's only $10 - talk about bang for your buck!

Yelp
I got the chance to try this today. I decided to pick this location in terms of ease of parking. There is plenty of street parking in this area and it is a bit quieter. The inside is small and is made more to grab and go or if you plan on having a quick bite to eat. The menu is pretty small offering 4 sandwiches, 3 flavours of donuts, and some beverages. To my understanding they rotate their sandwich selections every month or so. You have to check their site to see what is being offered that month. I had the gucci romaine which was pretty much a chicken cesaer salad in a bun. It was quite delicious. The sandwich was very filling as they don't skimp on the toppings. I also had their oreo donut which was very good. Their donuts are huge and very dense. I felt that I could easily split one with someone else. I would definitely come back and try their other sandwich flavours.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Farrow sandwiches? These are high quality hand made, and not pre-made sandwiches. The menus change on a regular basis so you can return without having the same sandwich twice. They always have at least one vegan sandwich. Today's vegan offering was called "Vegan Shitty Burrito". I don't recall what was on it but my daughter said it was delicious. I had a Grick sandwich (how do they come up with these names?) and it was good, but I prefer bolder flavours. My sandwich had soft eggs and cheese which made for a sticky bun by the time we got home in the deep south. My wife ordered "Jenn's" and we swapped half of hers for half of mine - actually I got a quarter of hers - and it had the bold flavour I was looking for. We had ordered take-out but if you want to stay there are a limited amount of bar seats available. Farrow has no tables except outside. This being December we chose not to eat outside. There is no designated parking but Farrow is on a residential street so parking is usually not a problem. I highly recommend Farrow, especially in the summertime when you can get a table outside or anytime, if you live or work nearby. Good food should be eaten when it's freshly made. I gave four stars instead of five due to the lack of tables indoors.

Yelp
OMG I don't even really like sandwiches but damn! My best friend and I went to the Farrow on 99 for a quick and quiet lunch before starting our day. The location is great and there is loads of parking on the street. The restaurant is small but so cozy and cute, plenty of seating for the little shop. I ordered the Grick Middle and it was amazing. A large portion, full of flavour and nice and toasty. Not a huge fan of arugula but it did not seem to be very overpowering and was a nice addition to the other flavours. My friend had the Chief Beef and was super happy with the sandwich. I also got the eggnog cronut. I LOVE cronuts and this as very yummy but I was not a huge fan of the eggnogg flavour. I didn't get a coffee here this time but my next visit to the city will absolutely include this place. Made this Vancouver girl feel very at home. A Must Munch.

Yelp
I love love love this hipster sandwich spot. Two locations one off whyte and the other in the neighbourhood of Richie. The chief beef is my favourite but I always add some cheese to it. Pros -service is fast -portions are generous - pricing is fair -donuts for those seeking additional calories like me Cons -parking can be a pain in the a** -bread is not always toasted enough for my liking, crunchy crispy bread makes any sandwich better.

Michelle W.

Yelp
So I dropped in for coffee. Service was not great. Seemed annoyed. They also did not have cream--just milk and soy. Coffee was pretty weak. If you are wanting good coffee this might not be the best place. Go down the road to transcend.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Can't wait to come back! The staff were super friendly, our sandwiches were delicious, and I have a serious love on for that Oreo donut now. Their hours aren't the greatest... but there's other locations! Worth the travel I think!
google avatar

Todd H.

Yelp
We had the Grick middle & Chief Beef and they were both fantastic. The donuts they have are next level great. Loved it
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Try the snores puff tart! So good! Was rated one of the top desserts in edmomton! There's a reason why!

Lynn T.

Yelp
This is their second location, in the Richie neighborhood. The building is an old house converted to a store, which is pretty hipster and trendy. I prefer this over the Uni location, as this one had plenty of street parking. The place has some bar seating inside but not too much. Outside there are a good number of picnic benches as well. We tried the the Chicken sandwich ("Marinara Trench") for $13. It was tasty and had plenty of greens in it. But in regards to size, it's on the smaller side. For $13, I was hoping for something a bit bigger and filling. Overall, Farrows is good hipster joint for sandwiches, especially if you want to pick up and go. But for the price, I might opt for something else that's more satisfying for lunch.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
This place is great, suuuuper hipster and really great sandwiches but do bare in mind they only offer 4 sandwich types and only one is suitable for vegetarians. I live close by and have a large number of vegetarian friends and love to take them here but there are only so many times you can eat exactly the same sandwich, I have been coming here for a few weeks now and I am thoroughly bored with the menu already. Other than that if you are a once off visitor, they are probably 4 of the best sandwiches you have eaten in Alberta. The only thing that needs improvement is the quality of their bread, I feel like they should swing by the Italian centre and figure out what good bread is, it really lets down their amazing flavour combinations.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Fresh made innovative sandwiches and amazing treats! I had the Children of the Korn brisket sandwich and it was absolutely amazing! I would never have thought to put such ingredients together, although thankfully that's why we have Farrow. The flat top brought out the amazing flavours and ensured we will be back.
google avatar

Bonnie A.

Yelp
Well, this location is cleaner than the 109th street location, so that was pleasant. But honestly, it's pretty pricey for what you get, so I really don't think it's worth it. Even though you go up to the counter to place your order, and pick up your order from the counter, and do away with your own garbage when you are done eating, the debit machines prompts for a tip. If you're starving and desperate, like I was, then by all means check it out. But I won't go out of my way to come here.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Really good sandwiches tiny shop but I only came to say one thing. Cut the sandwiches! Just my opinion but if a sandwich is as long as a child forearm it's hard to eat uncut.
google avatar

Amelia V.

Yelp
I visited the new location yesterday, it's a great spot and located well with lots of seating inside and outside. I liked the bright space! I ordered a grick for lunch and a cinnamon bun for later. The Grick middle sandwich was tasty, as per usual. The cinnamon bun was a bit of a miss for me. I didn't find it soft enough, but the icing was great.
google avatar

Anil B.

Yelp
I have tried three different sandwiches so far. All have been great, my fave so far is the Grick middle but maybe that was because I hadn't had breakfast. The bacon egg and arugula is a novel flavor combo that I'm going to use at home.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Heard a lot of great things about this place. Came in this morning and had the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Highly recommend this spot. Cool vibe friendly crew
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Soooo yummy!! I love the idea of this little place with its rotating daily sandwiches! My partner and I both got different sandwiches and they were exelcent!! Great flavours that worked really well together although it had things I was unsure about like pickled onions! I also had the lemon cordial it was tasty too! Would go back again and again just to try the different sandwiches.

Yelp
Don't really know-front wooden steps not accessible for my mobility scooter, but the two ladies I bumped into in front yesterday who were leaving, said it was "Fabulous!" As they were strangers, I can't vouch for their credibility.haha.

Holly D.

Yelp
I've been in this store twice now during a Saturday lunch rush and have enjoyed both meals. I am thinking this would be a great sandwich shop to go to for lunch when I'm in the area. The only downside is that both times I found the lineup moved slow and it carried to the outside as people were standing in what little space there was inside waiting for their order. What will happen when winter comes?

Shannon W.

Yelp
We just had an alternative to the grick and wow it was great. Spicy beans, avocado and two eggs. It was delicious. I am impressed and my tummy is happy.

Tammy C.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and sandwiches. The place is small so getting something to go is probably easiest!

Smitty S.

Yelp
I always enjoy the sandwiches that I get from Farrow and I knew this time wouldn't be any different. Now, I am always prepared for Farrow to be busy, especially around noon so the line up did not surprise or hinder me from going ahead. I figured I would have to wait a little while as I know it takes time to churn out those delicious gourmet sammys but this time it was a little ridiculous. I think the initial issue was with the debit machine not working which I understand can happen anytime, anywhere. But what bothered me was after that was resolved, the girl running the cash register decides that now is the time to restock the pop. I understand that you don't want to run out of pop incase a customer orders that specific flavour, but isn't the priority getting the orders in first? Especially when you have a line up out the door? Could it not have waited a little bit? No word of a lie, this girl took her sweet time putting the pop in the glass display without even acknowledging the people waiting. At the very least, tell your customers that you will be with them in just a moment. If that wasn't bad enough, the girl barely even made eye contact with me when I placed my order and no smile or any friendly interaction. Nothing. Just spit out your order and move along. Almost like the soup nazi in Seinfeld. Busy or not, you should always smile and have a pleasant and approachable demeanor. Then I noticed the girl that tossed my sandwich on the counter didn't even look at me or smile. So I made a point to smile and say "Thank You" loud and clear. I guess I'm old school, I like my service with a smile. Busy or not. Popular or not. Customers should always feel valued.
