If you’re looking for a spot in Göreme that trades the "white tablecloth" vibe for a relaxed, backpacker-friendly atmosphere, Fat Boys Restaurant & Bar is the place to be. It has long been a staple for travelers who want a mix of Turkish tradition and Western comfort.
Located right in the heart of Göreme's town square, Fat Boys is impossible to miss. It’s famous for its low-slung seating and floor cushions, creating a "chill-out" zone that is perfect for resting your legs after a long day of hiking the Red or Rose Valleys.
The menu is a massive, "something-for-everyone" list that balances authentic Anatolian dishes with Western staples.
Turkish Classics: Their Testi Kebab (Pottery Kebab) is a highlight—cracked open at your table for a bit of traditional flair. It’s rich, slow-cooked, and deeply savory.
Western Comforts: If you’re hit with a craving for home, their burgers (especially the lentil burger) and chips are surprisingly good for a region known more for lamb than brioche buns.
Value for Money: While prices in Cappadocia have risen, Fat Boys remains relatively affordable, providing large portions that are great for fueling up before a trek.
I had their Hummus and Dip which was quite good for Appetizers and Starters. They also had several other Vegetarian options like Salads and Wraps for a Vegan or Vegetarian. This restaurant owners Angela gave good service quality and tour of the restaurant. They were quite warm and friendly #Fat #Boys #Cappadocia
