Gas advertised as one price for Cash, one for Credit. No problem.
Problem is, when you pull in and go to any of the closest pumps, Pumps 1-14, those are $.90 HIGHER per gallon ($2.39 vs $3.29) than the advertised sign with no notice of any price differential. Interesting how both numbers contained the same digits.
Fat Dogs is simply preying on the weary traveler, counting on them to not be paying attention as, sadly, I was not.
After pumping my gas, I realized the deception so I asked about it and learned that “only Pumps 15-24 offer the posted price” because it’s only valid on the E-88 ethanol. I would have chosen the E-88 had there been clear signage or any indication of a near $1 differential.
I asked for a refund on the difference of my purchase ($7.38), but the clerk did not have such power. In fact, they said they have to repeat this explanation multiple times per day. Multiple times PER DAY!
It’s clear Fat Dogs management/ownership know exactly what they’re doing so, I recommend you do as I will for the remainder of my driving life and avoid ALL Fat Dogs locations.
