"(Tied) for Rome's best gelato A few blocks from Villa Ada and the Via Salaria, Gelateria Fatamorgana sells Maria Agnese Spagnuolo’s edible works of art. Each flavor is made from all natural ingredients, without chemical additives or artificial flavors, and many are lactose free. Spagnuolo’s whimsical creations are often seasonal and always draw on quality produce, spices and herbs. In the summer, try panacea (ginseng, almond milk, and mint) with ananas e zenzero (pineapple and ginger). There are a number of chocolate variations ideal for winter, including Kentucky (dark chocolate and tobacco). Fatamorgana also offers gluten free gelato, a rarity in Rome where so many shops use additives containing gluten. There are three other branches."

Maria Agnese Spagnuolo opened the first Gelateria Fatamorgana on via Lago Lesina in northern Rome and has since expanded to Prati, Monti, Trastevere, and most
recently, Piazza Re di Roma. Unique ingredients incorporate liquors, herbs, and spices.
High quality standard here and innovative gelato flavors. The most impressive part is that they excel at their innovative flavors.
That said, I liked their nut-based flavors, such as almond, hazelnut, and pistachio. Seriously the best pistachio I’ve had in Italy yet.

Extremely too many flavours to choose from! And gluten free, as well.
I would recommend the panettone, the pistachio, the sacher torte and if you like marrons you should definitely try the mont blanc!
The lady very nice. Prices normal for Italy (3 scoops for 3.50€ - cone or bowl).

This is a shop in a residential area.
staff is really nice and provide suggestion and taste .
I had a few scoops before i decide its not right to have dinner just on icecream.
The texture and mix is good. Its perfectly cooled. The atmosphere is fresh and clean.
They even do take away in boxes.
I have attached an image of the prices. For the quality and quantity the price is perfect.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! This is well worth the stop. Although not in downtown Rome, I think that adds to the charm. On a quiet street next to a park where you can go and enjoy the gelato. Some very unique flavours one of which includes Carrot Cake (my personal favourite). The staff is very kind and welcoming. They are willing to take the time to explain flavours to you. If you aren’t an Italian speaker, they are more than fluent in the English language. Very good prices with a generous portion. Definitely try it if you come to Rome. Yum!
