Fatto a Mano: Artisanal Italian Micro-Bakery

I love everything about this bakery. I actually bought thier brioche buns at Custom Meats in Fairfield (now a staple in my home) and decided to finally check this place out. There are sandwiches, sweet treats, sourdough breads, focaccia cookies, coffee and more. The place is inviting and casual with air of class. There is seating avaible to enjoy your coffee or cornetto. The products are all thoughtfully displayed and the service was genuinely friendly and upbeat. The cornetto with him and cheese was a simple and delicious sandwich. The bomboloni (1 pistachio and 1 lemon) were light and decadent at the same time, with a custatd like filling that is creamy and subtly flavored. I am going back for more. The garlic sourdough was filled with whole garlic gloves baked in and a nice chewy outside and soft inside. The country sourdough was equally amazing. Both great for dipping, sandwiches, toast, or simply spreading with a good quality butter or jam. There are no preservatives or artificial ingredients and all is made by hand. Right out the Post Rd in Westport with a small parking lot shared with other businesses. I highly recommend and will be a regular!

Pricing Challenge- I’m visiting from out of town, I had tasted the sfogliatella in Naples a few years ago, I was exited to try it again. The flavor and the quality are more than great ! What’s very disappointing is the lack of clear pricing per item. As an example I had purchased las Sunday 4 of these and 2 other items (cookies and a slice of pie) and it was also the same amount $37.57, and today that I purchased 5 sfogliatella same amount.. dose NOT make sense.

Pierluigi and his team are absolutely exceptional! He created a wonderful experience for our wedding in July with a traditional live millefoglie cake. Millefoglie has always been my husband’s and my favorite, as we both grew up having it as our birthday cakes. When Pierluigi was able to create this as our wedding cake live, it meant so much to us. Not only was it exceptionally delicious—light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—but our guests still can’t stop talking about it. It was truly the highlight of our wedding reception. Pierluigi and his team also created custom decorative breads for our bread table during cocktail hour. The display was so detailed and beautifully arranged, and the bread itself was just as delicious. We have been coming to Fatto a Mano Bakery for awhile, and everything is always crafted to perfection. The sourdough, focaccia, biscotti, pastries, cappuccino, olive oil cake—you name it—are the closest you’ll get to being in Italy, and every bite is absolutely delicious. Plus, the panettone during Christmas time is now a staple in our family! Using the simplest yet highest quality ingredients, Pierluigi crafts everything to perfection. He is so kind and a truly wonderful person, and you can tell he pours so much passion and love into everything he creates! We always look forward to visiting his bakery and enjoying all the treats. Thank you so much, Pierluigi—grazie mille!

Lovely Service, great indoor & outdoor seating area. The Cornettos have a wonderful soft , flakey, & fresh taste. Good quality selections of authentic Italian baked goods.

The sweet and spicy sandwich at fatto a mano is phenomenal! This was my first experience having cherry mostarda - an Italian style fruit mustard - and I was truly impressed. The bread is thin and the soppressata is present, but not overwhelming. The pistachio mousse was a visually stunning, unique treat. I look forward to trying more of their pastries and their fresh pasta!

Meh! Just okay! There are better places to get Italian breads, pastries and dishes, and get better prices! Bad parking spaces here - ten to 15 mins which means they’re inadequate if you wish to eat in and have a good meal - unless you live nearby and you can walk in! Their website shows a clip of a baker making fresh panettone! Found out that they only had imported boxed panettone’s and it was just this a Christmas holiday! I can get a boxed imported one from anywhere! Sorry!

My family and I have been ordering from Pierluigi for several years now, and his artisanal and authentic Christmas panettone has quickly become the highlight of our holiday. He bakes everything fresh by hand and is truly talented. We are so fortunate to have a taste of Italy in CT! Looking forward to his new cafe in 2025!

Definitely not worth the hype. Drove over an hour to try this place and was extremely disappointed. The food options are pre-made and laid out to pick, as if I were at a starbucks. To top it off, they’re served cold, they don’t offer to heat them up and they look like they’ve been sitting there for quite some time. We first tried the savoury cornetto and pizzette which were served to us cold, straight off the counter. This was a major turnoff because their we had higher expectations based on what we paid. Next we tried the pistachio entremet which was good but still not worth driving more than 20 mins for. We also tried their hot and cold drinks, but once again, nothing to rave about. This place is really just a hype. For those who want a truly good breakfast/brunch/bakery experience - Doro Marketplace is a MUST try!! I would recommend them over fatto a mano any day!
