Our recent visit to Favarger chocolate shop near Versoix left much to be desired, primarily due to the rude and unprofessional demeanor of the shop attendant. As other reviewers mentioned, she looked at us as if we owe her money! If I could give 0 star to service, I would have!
When inquiring about the shelf-life of the chocolates, the shop attendant was evasive and unhelpful. It became apparent that obtaining basic information was a challenge.
When we are ready to order, we were told that the shop had run out of the 9-piece praline boxes we desired and was only offering the larger 16-piece boxes instead because "everyone wanted the 9-piece box." Our experience took a turn for the worse when a piece fell out of the box that we were about the purchase. Shockingly, the attendant grabbed it with ungloved hand and casually returned it to the box.
FYI: The expiration date was only visible after purchase because the boxes were kept in the counter. The box we purchased had 40 days before expiring. Moreover, despite keeping it in a dark, cool and dry pantry, the pralines already show blooming after two weeks.
Despite the shop's aesthetically pleasing presentation and intriguing flavor offerings, the overall taste of the chocolates was merely average. With numerous superior options available near Geneva, the underwhelming taste failed to compensate for the poor customer experience.
In summary, Favarger Chocolate Shop's potential is overshadowed by its dismal customer service and lack of attention to hygiene standards. Until significant improvements are made, chocolate enthusiasts are advised to explore other options for a more enjoyable and satisfying experience.
