FAWSLEY HALL (Birmingham, Midlands) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There’s history, and then there’s history. Fawsley Hall has had its share of famous guests, but its Queen’s Suite is dedicated to none other than Elizabeth I, who last checked out in 1575. The old house has Victorian, Georgian and Tudor wings — all of which were contemporary at the time they were built." - Tablet Hotels

Warm greeting on arrival - well priced drinks and lunch options whilst the room was readied. The Spa is fantastic - great pool, sauna, steam room, herbal heat and Himalayan Salt rooms. Outside chill area and courtyard Jacuzzi are lovely. The room are clean and comfortable. The communal areas breath history. The best bit was the tasting menu with wine flight - Peter the sommelier was a lovely guy - really listens to his customers and was a pleasure to speak to. All waiting staff were lovely and the chefs are out of this world. There is also a 13th Century church on site an ample grounds for a good walk

came here for afternoon tea. The price is on the higher side, but I felt it was worth it because the place is so beautiful. The scones were really delicious, the cakes were quite good too. But sandwiches a bit small and thin for my liking. The service was great, and overall I really enjoyed the experience.

From the moment we arrived at the beautiful Fawsley Hall, we were greeted by warm and welcoming smiles and flawless hospitality. The smell of the fresh flowers filled the reception area. After check in we entered our room, which took our breath away. |Our stay was for a five day relaxation break. Lazy mornings, plentiful and delicious breakfast, walks in the grounds and to local pubs, lounging in the stunning spa to dinner of an evening. All staff were charming and friendly. |The hotel itself presented spotlessly clean, maintenance and grounds were faultless. |An amazing wonderful experience just what we needed. Would highly recommend. We’re already planning our next Hand Picked staycation. Thank you to all at Fawsley Hall.

Stayed for two nights after our wedding. Lovely room, clean and staff were really helpful. The main Tudor hall is impressive, breakfast was varied and well laid out. Loved the spa especially, helpful staff, clean and most importantly very relaxing.

We had our wedding here and it was just the best wedding ever! Venue is stunning, deep in the countryside. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and everything was planned to the last detail. Our wedding coordinator Olivia was the best and we highly recommend this place if you’re looking for the best wedding you’ve ever been to because that’s what our guests said 🥰

Stunning location and building and excellent spa. Unfortunately we had an issue with being wrongly charged for spa treatments by the hotel which has taken repeated phone calls and several weeks to resolve. Be cautious about checking your bill. Apart from this, we had an enjoyable stay.

I’m writing a reluctant review, as no one asked at check-out if we had enjoyed our stay — we were simply presented with the invoice. So this is my outlet.||The room felt very tired, with oddly painted furniture. The spa was lovely, although I can’t understand why the pool is only 1m deep throughout. Please don’t make an excuse about lifeguards — it’s simply not enjoyable for swimming.||The bed was fine, but the morning was the real issue. Noise from the guests upstairs started early, which I can accept given it’s an old building with creaky floors. What I couldn’t accept was being woken at 7am by what sounded like a garden strimmer, along with the bins being emptied or filled around the same time. Far too early for guests trying to rest.||The shower had no water pressure — nothing more than a dribble. Breakfast was also disappointing. My husband’s poached eggs were overcooked, though I will say the staff were all very lovely and attentive.||We felt undervalued and generally disappointed by our stay. ||I have given it 3 stars. If the staff weren’t go lovely at breakfast, I would have given it 1.

Lovely location and beautiful hall. The room we had was huge with a bedroom downstairs and bathroom up stairs in the roof space. Big double shower, large bath and all beautifully appointed. We were there for a wedding and the food was delicious too.

Yelp
Booked in to the Cedar Restaurant for Sunday lunch. The surroundings are amazing, great place for weddings, afternoon tea, etc. Food was good - not amazing, but 2 courses for two and change from £50 is OK by me. Only down point, was referred to as "You Guys"!!! Come on!!! Really??? Update Easter Sunday '18 Went back and couldn't fault it. Service impeccable. Previous casual waiter not to be seen. Upgrade to 5*.

Yelp
Fawsley Hall Hotel is lovely. We stayed in Room 4 for our first wedding anniversary and we had a fabulous time. This hotel is one of the 'Handpicked Hotels' collection of hotels. We've stayed in Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest, so I get email deals from them with special offers. We hadn't made any plans for our anniversary and an email popped up in my inbox offering a discount and a breakfast and dinner deal, so I booked. We got a double deluxe room, breakfast, and a 3-course meal included. I received a phone call a few days before our arrival to confirm the details and I was asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, which we were, so the lady on the phone put this on the computer, which was nice. When we arrived to check in (15:00) we were very warmly welcomed and congratulated on our anniversary, which was a nice touch. Our luggage was taken to our room (up a couple of stairs) and we were shown to a very pretty room, with a nice view of the lake (and sheep). We had an uber big bed, a writing desk, some armchairs, a huge TV, a bath, shower, beautiful citrus scented toiletries, tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities, minibar with free water and milk, and nice fluffy towels. After checking in we checked out the hotel bar, looking for a pot of tea. We decided in the end to get some virgin cocktails, because they looked to tasty. The hotel let you charge things to the room, so the process was super easy. The bar was well stocked with family games, so we had a few rounds of a memory game, along with our free glasses of 'welcome sparkling wine'. I noticed in the room guide that they have a cinema on site, which was a really exciting thought, so we moved our dinner reservation forward a couple of hours (which was really easy and the staff were really accommodating) so that we could make the 21:30 showing of The Woman in Black. The cinema was lovely; 28 seats (proper cinema seats) and we were allowed to take a drink in from the bar. We were the only people in the cinema, which was nice. A member of staff showed us how to use the volume controls and left us to it. Our food was great - we had a 3 course meal deal with our room, so we had to pick from a set menu (there was the option when I booked to upgrade to a la carte, but I quite having to choose from a set menu sometimes). We had pickled mackerel and chicken liver parfait with brioche toast for starters and for mains we had roasted belly pork (10/10) and corn fed chicken with garlic mash (07/10). For dessert we had lemon posset and toffee panna cotta. Our desserts were kindly rushed through so that we could go to the cinema on time, which was really nice. When we went back to our room we found that we had been left a fruit bowl, a wonderful handwritten card, and a box of beautiful truffles as a gift for our anniversary, which was really appreciated. It's these touches that made our stay really special. Our room had both a bath and a waterfall shower, which was great. I could have showered for hours. The only problem being that the shower was really small (in a corner), but it didn't stop me enjoying it. One of the things that we loved about our room was that it was really quite. We heard no noise from anywhere else in the hotel. There wasn't even the usual humming/clicking/banging noises that you get in hotel rooms; it was silent. We had a continental breakfast included in our deal, so we got some lovely things delivered to our room - a full english breakfast, fresh coffee, orange juice, and croissants. Everything was perfect. There are also full spa facilities, which we didn't use. They also offer a 'yoga bag' and 'gym bag' for working out in your room - these services are complementary. The surrounding are beautiful - there are lakes, sheep, wildflowers, and trees. The house is surrounded by 2,000 acres of land. Top bits: The staff - so, so friendly and welcoming. The tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuit selection in the room. Breakfast. Sherbert lemons in reception. Nice chocolates. Really comfy beds. Games in the bar. FREE CINEMA. USB phone charger socket. Bluetooth music facility. The food. Free WIFI. Not so great bits: Paying £3 to get room service. Paying 100% service charge on soft drinks with our dinner. Bathroom was a bit odd - the toilet was hard to flush, the shower tiny, and the door hit the toilet every time you let it go. (All of these things are not terrible - just little things and did not make our stay any less enjoyable).

Yelp
A lovely, slightly hidden country side hotel close to Northampton. Bedrooms are nice and spacious and there are a host of facilities available to guests. The hotel has two restaurants: The more elegant Equilibrium and the less formal Bess's Brasserie. We dined at Equilibrium, and the food and service was excellent. The food was modern European with many unusual but nice touches to the meal. A perfect place for a nice getway or romantic weekend break. Only downside to the hotel is that some of the staff seem slightly aloof rather than attentive at times.

Yelp
Renovated hundreds year old home. Tea, freeze dried Nescafé in room. One USB outlet didn't work. Sink and shower faucet leaking. Not repaired during stay. Loaner umbrellas. Very good speed unsecured WiFi. Large, traditionally decorated lounge rooms attached to restaurant and bar area. Restaurant staff work diligently and with care but with some confusion and appear understaffed and overworked. Food is generally above average. Deep fried from- frozen foods and canned foods for breakfast. Poached eggs and toast nicely done. Espresso well above average for middle England. A few vegetarian breakfast choices. Nearby is a stately church dating back to at least 1500, open to the public. Lovely river runs next to grounds. Plenty of sheep in the surrounding beautiful fields. Our electronic card key rarely worked and caused numerous unexpected delays including a wait of about 45 minutes to enter our room and never a concession was offered.

Yelp
My friend and myself visited fawsley hall for a spa day for our 30th Birthdays. We had a great day enjoying the spa facilities, back, neck and shoulder massage and also champagne afternoon tea. The spa staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a beautiful setting and I will more than likely be returning in the future.
