I ate at Feast for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed lunch. There are several vegan and vegetarian options including the arugula and spinach salad to which I added tofu. All of the cafe’s packaging is compostable for which they have a separate bin by the exit. The market has a wide selection of cheeses, wines as well as some different salads, chips and other beverages. I had enjoyed their food at several catered events but had somehow never made it into the restaurant. I’ll definitely be back!!

Google
A nice local spot with sandwiches, local groceries and wine. We stopped here for a quick lunch on a road trip. I ordered the tuna salad and also tried their molasses cookie and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. My sandwich was good and flavorful, but nothing special. The molasses cookie was yummy and my oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was ok. One of my friends got the fried chicken sandwich and noticed the middle of it seemed raw, so we sent it back. The staff was accommodating and gave him a new one which was helpful.

Food is great! Awesome lunch spot in the city. Outdoor is seating is nice. The staff is so friendly and nice! They make the food quickly and are so helpful! The staff makes the vibe of this place so great! If they had more stars to give I would!

Google
So cute and the staff is really nice. In the cafe I tried the phorench dip (DIVINE), rosemary ham and goat cheese panini, and the turkey brie and cranberry paining. All really good, but when I tend to re-order the first two the most! Small NOTE: if you're ordering soup for takeout (or the phorench dip) be careful holding your soup container upright. It's sustainable packaging so that's good but I've noticed when I just keep it in the bag, it usually spills and ends up ripping the bag. So I usually just take it out and hold it separately.

Google
Great store! Every staff member I interacted with was very helpful. Their customer service level was the way Whole Foods should be or used to be. It’s not a full grocery store, but I saw a good selection of wine, cheeses, jams, etc. I love that many of the products were from local suppliers, and you wouldn’t find them in chain stores. I look forward to going back for more!

Google
If you want to splurge, amazing sandwiches at Feast! Food. Just ordered the turkey, cranberry, brie panini. My favorite is the The Local which has goat cheese, olive and artichoke tapenade and arugula on ciabatta bread. Everyone at work always gets the turkey, fig and cheddar panini. I have heard their soups and grain bowls are excellent. Great menu to choose from.

Google
Stayed near by for my birthday so I walked up and got some cheese, (the guy behind the counter was great with his recommendations,) and a sandwich. I loved it so much I came back later got more food.

First discovered this place back in 2012 when my daughter was a freshman at UVa. It remains one of the best markets/cafes in the city. I stock up on all kinds of goodies to take home and you can also shop online and all sorts of good stuff comes right to your door! The tomato soup with coconut and kale is my favorite. And the ginger molasses cookie is a must!

Yelp
Delicious panini sandwich and fantastically fresh and flavorful salad. The tomato tasted like fresh out of the garden. Wonderful. Also, super bakery next door !

Yelp
Feast is a cute little market shop that serves a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. Their food is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In addition to food, there is a market with a nice selection of gourmet cheeses, oils, wines, etc. My favorite sandwich is the Prosciutto & Mozzarella.

Yelp
Stopped for a quick bite and this place delivered the sandwiches we were looking for. Wonderful place for a lunch date and a shop too! Great place to eat and shop!

Yelp
Seating can be an issue. Food is imaginative and tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful. We have been there a few times and enjoyed what we had.

Yelp
Was on my way to Bath County when I decided to stop for lunch. Tired of fast food joints I wanted to try a local deli. I purchased the Turkey, Brie & Cranberry on ABC bread, Asian Cucumber Salad and a local Honey & Mint green tea. The food was very flavorful and delicious; however, the sandwich was a bit sparse on ingredients hence only four stars. For an $11 sandwich, it should have contained a bit more. Amazingly fresh and worth going out of the way for. I'll definitely come back someday.

Yelp
Met a friend here for lunch. There are tables for sitting down and eating inside the building and outside of the shop area; however, I didn't think it was that nice. I tried the Half Chicken Cheddar Fig Panini and Tomato Coconut & Kale Soup, and the Pho-Rench Dip sandwich.   The sandwiches were good. The Chicken Cheddar Fig Panini was tasty. The Tomato Coconut & Kale Soup was hearty and good for a cold day. Being Vietnamese and growing up with a lot of good Vietnamese food in Northern Virginia, I was skeptical of the Pho-Rench Dip Sandwich. However, I was pleasantly surprised. As a standalone dish, it worked well. The broth paired nicely with the sandwich. I wouldn't compare the experience of eating it, or the broth, to a good bowl of pho, but I liked the unique idea and taste.   Overall, I enjoyed the sandwiches and soups at Feast. I love that everything is local here. The price is a little on the high end for relatively small portions of soups and sandwiches compared to other options in the area, but it's understandable given the times.

Yelp
Located at Main Street Market, this place is worth the trip. Wide selection of different salads, sandwiches, and soups. Plenty of to go options if you don't have time to wait. Also if you don't have time to wait, place your order early for takeout as it does get busy. Everything is fresh and delicious. Loved their spin on tomato soup and their French dip sandwich. Great customer service, when tables were filling up the man at the pick up counter was bringing tables in from outside so people had places to sit. There is a market selection of cheese and meats, local products, etc.. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I just stopped by for the first time today... and I can honestly say I just ate the best tuna melt I've ever had. Seriously!
google avatar

Yelp
Meh! Def. overrated for what they offered. I ordered the chicken and avocado rice bowl. Rice wasn't cooked to my liking, it was cold and flavorless.

Yelp
Feast! was a different but unique experience. The food was good, but the atmosphere and the market around was the most memorable!

Yelp
Yes! The warm chicken salad sandwich is soooooo good. Underrated deli in Charlottesville! Cute little market inside. Seating is slightly limited, but most folks come for pickup anyways. The problem is when customers use it like their WFH office and only purchase a Pellegrino to justify their table use. I would give it a 5/5, but because of this it's a 4.

Yelp
Feast! is a charming market known for their deli sandwiches and artisan ready made meals. I ordered the Pho-Rench sandwich which comes with a side of pho broth to dip your sandwich in! I was excited to try this sandwich because I truly didn't know what to expect from this concept. In my opinion, it doesn't take exactly like pho... I didn't expect it to be but contains essences of pho and Vietnamese cuisine that I really enjoyed. I wouldn't describe it as an attempt to be authentic but rather a play on Vietnamese flavors. The sandwich had a good amount of cilantro that reminded me of banh mi and the thin slices of beef were reminiscence of the same cut of meat I would get in my pho. I loved the ciabatta roll that came with the sandwich - think it came next door from Albemarle Baking Co.

Yelp
Updating for COVID. They still have a great food selection, especially cheese and meats. Great pre-made items like meatballs. But with COVID you order online at https://www.feastvirginia.com/groceries Then they text you when it's ready to go. Reply with make and color of your car and they will take it out to you in the parking lot. Pickup is 10am to 230pm. They also do local deliveries and FedEx out of area.

Yelp
Ordered the tuna melt and the fried chicken melt - used the QR code on the tables. Really quick and easy! The tuna melt was very good, light and fluffy bread with roasted tomato spread. Also ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Omg the chicken was crispy and the bread was amazing. Have to get it again!

Yelp
Small portions + strange interaction with staff? I've always passed by Feast and mentally put it on my list of places to try. I had heard their sandwiches and cheese selection was pretty good. My SO and I ordered the local and the pho-tench for pickup. Like other reviewers said, for the price of like $12 per sandwich (including tax), it's a tiny, tiny portion. Flavor was pretty good but nothing mind-blowing. The sides were like Costco sample sizes too. But what really left me with a bad impression was a strange interaction with a staff member. I was browsing and trying to find where to pick up my sandwiches. She showed me where the pick-up bar was and, seemingly out of nowhere, quipped in "And the $15 and under section is along that wall there." ??? To me, it sounded very condescending and borderline rude. There are places with better food for lunch. For a place called Feast, their portions don't reflect that at all. That combined with the weird comment - I'm steering clear of this place and I won't be back.

Yelp
Feast is my favorite place in Charlottesville for lunch. Many of their sandwiches are made with local ingredients and fresh bread from ABC, the bakery next door. The atmosphere is excellent with plenty of seating. It's also fun to walk through the market and see all the local products they have to offer while waiting for your food. My favorite item on their menu is the ham, fig, and goat cheese panini, which is an amazing combination of sweet and salty sandwiched between two slices of warm ciabatta. Would recommend Feast! for a date, a family outing, or even as a place to sit and do work for a few hours while you enjoy the ambiance.

Yelp
I'm so sad to see that this place has gone downhill with all of the changes. As a long-time fan of Feast, it's so disappointing. The food is now practically thrown in disposable bowls with no garnish, no salad or white bean salad sides included any more. The cafe staff was incredibly rude. There were random boxes on all of the cafe tables so there was nowhere to sit. What was once a lively lunch spot, is now a ghost town and it's clear as to why.

Yelp
Cute little deli/cafe shop. Limited menu but the food they do have is delicious. Unfortunately the bread options were limited because they were low but the other times I've come here they usually have decent options. There's seating outside the deli store inside and outside. I love the house made crostinis, buy them every time I come here! Staff is super friendly too, very thoughtful. I got the BLT, they accidentally messed up my order so they gave us free cookies while we were waiting, which was nice. The BLT comes with a homemade paste which is really good. My fiancé got the chicken melt, which looked yummy. Each sandwich came with a little side of fruit and salad.

Yelp
Came to have lunch and they had a fried chicken special, what a delicious treat! I also had a kale salad and my oh my, Feast never disappoints. I went with a friend and she had a turkey panini, also delicious. I wish I could everyday from this place ( I don't live in Cville anymore, just visit) if you are able to please do! Diana who works in the kitchen preps a lot of their goodies, say hello if you have the chance!

Yelp
This is a shop as well as a cafe that prepares lunch foods such as soups, sandwiches, salads, etc. and does catering as well. I had never been here but I found it on Yelp and decided since my husband and I love lunch type foods as well as gourmet cafes we would be sure to love it. We placed out order on a mobile phone and proceeded to pick our food up. It was really busy when we got there, we didn't even go inside because they brought the food out to us which was nice. We decided to eat our meals at a local park. I ordered the chicken, cheddar, fig sandwich which was probably to worst part of both of our meals. The sandwich was a half size portion that came with soup as a lunch meal. I'm not a fan of jams and sweet spreads on my deli meats so I asked to have it without. I was very surprised once we arrived to the park and opened my sandwich. It was extremely small, there was a tiny square of cheese (think lunchable sized), and one piece of folded over chicken meat. The bread was even hard so I just really gave up. The soup was good and tasted like you would expect from a broccoli cheddar. Downside to this was there were no cutlery provided so I did drink it out of the cup which really wasn't a big deal. My husband ordered the full sized sandwich which was a play on a French dip and he really liked it. He said he wished the meat portion would have been comparable to other sandwich shops we visit for lunch. Overall it was ok. There are many options for lunch in Charlottesville and I will probably continue visiting other options for lunch in the area.

Yelp
I was born and raised in the CT/NY area. Have eaten and shopped at some of the best deli's and specialty shops around. Feast is an absolute joke. The store is so unorganized, not visually appealing and the lack of variety is something worth noting. Pizza dough not refrigerated, egg salad that tasted like crap and the butternut soup was awful. People in Charlottesville have no idea what good food is.

Yelp
This sandwich is from Feast! on Main Street. It is the Pho-Rench dip ($10) and full of flavor. The beef is sliced super thin to mimic beef in pho and it is topped with a spicy siracha mayo, fresh cilantro and to follow up on the French dip and pho play, it is served with a pho broth to dip your sandwich in. The bread is super crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. This place is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots. Plus they offer a lot more than lunch, there is also a store with premade meals and specialty items. Could be a fun place to select items for a gift basket.

Yelp
Such a cute shop serving up quality sandwiches. A huge plus is that they have their own private parking lot, especially being located on busy Main St. They carry a nice selection of wines, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly. The prices were a bit steep for the size of the sandwiches, especially compared to other local sandwich shoppes. The chicken in the fried chicken melt was DELICIOUS - crispy, flavorful, and definitely tasted fresh fried. The turkey, brie, cranberry panini was yummy but left me wanting a little more. They have a lot of other sandwich options that sounded good, so I'd love to come back again and try those out!

Yelp
This is my new favorite spot in C'ville. My daughter brought me here for lunch one afternoon. We both had paninis and a side. Her w/ pasta salad & me w/ potato salad. My turkey/cheddar/ fig jam panini was out of this world delicious! My daughter had the turkey/brie/cranberry panini and it was equally yummy. Our sides were also very good. After lunch we decided to browse the pre-made food section and decided to bring some soup home for dinner. We tried the tomato lentil. It was so flavorful!

Yelp
I came to the café here for lunch a few times with coworkers while working in Charlottesville during the summer of 2019. I really loved how local this place was, and enjoyed perusing the market, although I never bought anything. The market usually has tasty samples; on one occasion they had some very addicting chocolate-covered caramels, and on another they had bread and a unique and delicious honey-sunflower butter. I always had a hard time deciding what I wanted since so much of the menu (especially in the sandwich section) appealed to me. Over the course of my visits here, I tried the rosemary ham & goat cheese sandwich, the Pho-rench dip sandwich, and the avocado toast. My favorite was the Pho-rench dip; the pho dipping sauce was amazing. I will say the portion sizes are a bit small for the price, but all the food is tasty and thoughtfully prepared. Drink options in the self-serve fridge include kombucha and local iced teas, among other things. When ordering at the café, you order at the café menu board, then go through the market (and pick up drinks, snacks, or anything else you want) before heading to the cash register to pick up. There's a good amount of seating in the market if you have your food to stay. If you want coffee, there's a cool-looking coffee truck in the market. Feast! is a short walk from the Downtown Mall area, as well as the Residence Inn.

Yelp
I don't know how I haven't come across this place in all the time I've been in Charlottesville. It may be because of some limited lunch hours, so definitely take note of their hours! They have so many options it was hard to choose! So we settled on the local, the chicken fig, and the pho sandwich. We ordered on the phone and our order was promptly ready. They texted me when it was ready, and I responded with my vehicle type. The sandwiches are normal size. My friend liked them all, and favored the local. I second that opinion. The pho sandwich really does taste like pho on a sandwich which was good but different. The chicken fig was delicious but a bit on the sweet side. We both loved the local and that's it. The side fruit salad was nothing to rave about, it was watery and a bit on the soggy side :/ Overall great sandwiches though!

Yelp
I love perusing around Feast's market, sampling the little treats they put out, and finding things I've never heard of before. They offer a great selection of picnic/dinner party/cheese+charcuterie board accoutrements, and you can be sure to find ingredients that will please yourself or your guests. They stock many things that you wouldn't find at a typical grocery store and that are imported from various countries, so expect a matching price tag, but the quality is there. The folks behind the meat counter have always been friendly and helpful when I am in trying to find some charcuterie for a picnic/cheese board. They also sell delicious local bread from ABC which is in the same building complex as them, so it can be a one stop shop basically. I have yet to have an actual meal in their cafe, but it's on my to-do list!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Honestly, I don't think there's much to not like about Feast! (yes, there's an exclamation point at the end). Except maybe the fact that it's closed Sunday. The staff are friendly, and there are plenty of samples sprinkled through the floor. Free parking too.  It's been a while since I've had their sandwiches, but I was fond of their paninis. In addition to their cafe, they sell a wide range of local, national, and international foodstuffs. Love this. Check Feast! out in the Main Street Market!

Yelp
I've found my favorite lunch so far in Charlottesville. That's not really fair because this is only my second and I'll probably end up somewhere around 20 before this project is complete. But wow, this sandwich was awesome and the entire Feast grocery is awesome too! I chose the roasted turkey special of the day. It did take about 15 minutes to be prepared, which does seem long but it was worth it. Heavy whole wheat bread, just a little lettuce, just a little tomato, just a little avocado, just a little mayo. This is how I'd probably make my own sandwich. With it, I chose the white bean salad which was a small serving but very delicious. Yummy lunch! The Feast grocery also has a bunch of the higher end stuff for sale in their cheese and olive oils and deli and wines. Interesting and unusual, all perfect for a great picnic to impress. Awesome and worth each of their five stars.

Yelp
Absolutely love their sandwiches!! Not only do they have a ton of choices, but they are also unique. Definitely not the cheapest sandwiches, as these are gourmet sandwiches. I had the chicken fig sandwich and that is by far my all time favorite sandwich. The sweet fig jam, the fresh spicy arugula, and the chicken slices and cheese went so well together! Every bite was interesting and flavorful. I also had the prosciutto mozzarella sandwich. A great sandwich, too, but not as great as the chicken fig one. I guess I just like having a tinge of a sweet taste in my sandwiches. Feast catering is fantastic! They're easy to work with and the sandwiches are just fantastic. Plenty of choices to pick from. The fruit platter was also very well decorated and all the fruits were super fresh and sweet. Will definitely go to them again for future events.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite lunch spot in Charlottesville! They have a wide array of options and while I wait for my food, I walk around and try all the samples they have (the olive oil is my fave!). The seating area outside the market is nice, I can have a great conversation and hear my friend. It never feels too crowded during the week for lunch. After I have my lunch I always sneak over to the coffee cart to get an apple cider donut and a coffee. If you need a quiet place to have lunch, definitely check out Feast.

Yelp
Enjoyed our lunch at feast today!! Online ordering is very easy and user friendly. It was beautiful and 60 degrees and we sat outside on their patio. I had the tomato, mozzarella, pesto panini and it was warm and held together nicely. The fruit cup side is a great citrus blend and cut finely and super fresh. My boyfriend had the prosciutto sandwich on French bread. The French bread was hard to chew but that's just French bread for you. Recommend having one softer side to the sandwich, instead of two hard French bread pieces, to make one side easier to bite. 8/10!

Yelp
The Washington Post really loved this place so I was curious. It's fully deserving of the Wa Po's drooling review. At "Feast" you enter a world of gourmet tastes, and small-batch, local, and artisanal foods. It features a split layout between a market and a cafe counter. The samples of cheese, chutneys, salamis, oils, vinegars and dips set out throughout the store are utterly delightful. The ladies behind the cheese counter are friendly and offer tips on different cheeses. Everything seems appropriately pricey: a great french mustard for $6, a sweet onion jelly to top your cheese for $8--- this is a place to indulge in some special treats. Look in the coolers for prepared and packaged foods like sandwiches, deviled eggs, dips and so on. Check out their great chocolates, chocolate bark, and unique drinks. There's also a prepared foods counter with soups, side salads, and sandwiches. We got two sandwiches to go for a picnic, choosing from a large hand-written menu board with unique choices of toasted pannini sandwiches. My ham, goat cheese, arugula, and spiced plum chutney tasted beautiful on a fairly slender toasted pannini. The ham was clearly artisanal and super thinly sliced. We also got the goat cheese vegetarian version. At $9, I thought these sandwiches were just a bit more special and unique than the Panera-chain style pannini. I liked the thin crispy bread used here. I would highly recommend a stop at this and other shops in the "Main Street Market" to check out some of their lunch items.

Yelp
I love this place for their casual atmosphere, selection of locally sourced items, and excellent quality. Whether you are stopping in for a quick bite while around town, or putting together the ultimate picnic for a hike, they can meet your needs with a wide selection.

Yelp
I love to come here! The menu is interesting and the food is all made in house of the highest quality ingredients. It is inside a deli-type store front so it's fun to browse around and pick up a few extra thing to enjoy later. The employees are cheerful and efficient- I have been here at least 10 times and have enjoyed it each and every time!

Yelp
Feast is a local spot to visit for a nice lunch or for a trip to purchase some high-end groceries. The lunch menu is filled with sandwiches, soups, and salads made from really fresh ingredients. Sandwiches are made with perfectly baked bread with a crisp crust and a soft, fluffy interior. I've been multiple times, and I always enjoy my meal. My favorite sandwich is the prosciutto and mozzarella, as the rich and creamy cheese matches the saltiness of the cured ham very well. Other than the cafe, they have a small grocery store where customers can buy meats, cheeses, vegetables, spreads, wine, etc. My favorite thing about Feast is the availability of free samples. I got to try new types of cheeses and spreads I would have never purchased otherwise. I will say that the cafe is slow moving and a bit overpriced, but I do think that it is still a worthwhile lunch spot!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, but it was really unimpressive. We arrived starving and in a hurry on an unusually hot October day. There was some outdoor seating in the shade, which was nice on a hot day. The menu was one of those QR code things, so we started placing our order right away. The descriptions of everything on the menu sounded really good, but the reality was a serious letdown. I ordered the Turkey Brie Cranberry Panini and my husband got the Roast Beef and Cheddar sandwich with a cup of Tomato Coconut & Kale soup. We also each got a can of Pilsner. The beer was great! The soup was pretty tasty, but probably would have been better with basil. But, the sandwiches were really depressing. When you pay $10 for a sandwich, you at least hope it'll be a decent size. Like other reviewers, we found these to be very small. Not only that, but they were extremely stingy with the ingredients. My husband's sandwich had like one slice of roast beef, one slice of cheese, a piece or lettuce, and a slice of tomato with the barest scraping of Mayo on the bread. I could have made a better and cheaper one at home. Mine had good flavors, but once again, it was barely a sandwich with a tiny bit of each ingredient. I guess when I go to a cafe and pay $10 per sandwich, I expect someone to put a little effort into making it interesting, tasty, and filling. I will say that the guy working there was pretty nice and he brought out water for our dog. I had read other reviews that were similar before eating here, but we were in a time crunch and it was the only place around that was open at lunch time. So, we didn't have much choice about eating here. But, at least I kind of knew what to expect.

Deborah P.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE Feast! Customer service is the BEST, always helpful. Could write a paragraph w ease. Before COVID Feast would would put out samples of their products which if you tried, you bought, smart business move, and glad that they are as opened back up, survived COVID, appreciate this beyond words. Would prefer to spend a little more for products, and have NO waste, consistent is the key to success in this type of business. They also sell the smaller parts left from cheese like samples that is just the right amount for one person, this is greatly appreciated as well. All in all, saying this again, LOVE the FEAST.
google avatar

Marylee B.

Yelp
How cute is this place?! I had the chicken, avocado and ranch bowl. The bowl was super tasty and filling. The store itself is so cool. They have all these samples out that you can try. Lots of gluten free, vegan, and organic options.

Yelp
I had heard great things about Feast, but I didn't have the opportunity to stop in there until a couple of weeks ago. They have a ton of prepared foods, cheeses, wine and beer, which does make the optimal place to stop in and a grab a gourmet picnic lunch. They have a large menu of sandwiches and salads to choose from that you order at a counter. I shopped around for a little bit and then ordered a chicken salad melt. While waiting for my sandwich, I enjoyed a wine/beer tasting paired with cheese. This just made my experience there even better. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and I opted to sit inside. My sandwich took quite a bit of time to prepare--several people who ordered after me got their food before me. I think it must have been a case of a misplaced ticket. However, the guy working behind the counter did let me know that my order would be right up, so I didn't feel forgotten. As soon as I took my first bite, I could have cared less about how long it took my sandwich to make. It was phenomenal! The melt is made with smoked Gouda, which is one of my favorite cheeses. All of the ingredients were very high quality---the sandwich was basically THE BEST! I'm only sorry I didn't make it into Feast sooner.

Yelp
Feast is not only a great restaurant, but a great place to purchase great goods from the market. There's a wide selection of cheeses and fresh, local herbs and vegetables. Many of the salads/sandwiches you can order at the window can be made with the ingredients sold in the market section. The sandwiches are all made with baguettes from nearby Ablemarle Baking Company, and sold in the market. The eat-in section is clean and very nice, and service is very quick. The food is excellent and the market is as well.

Phil D.

Yelp
Sandwich defined as "A sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein bread serves as a container or wrapper for another food type. They forgot to add meat ? Really a thin slice of meat on stale bread and the fruit salad was horrible. Do not go here Go to the deli in the Dairy Market - much better

Yelp
Trendy and locally inspired. I loved the quaint farmers market-esque vibe and the locally sourced foods. I got the Summer Korean Quinoa Bowl, and it was an incredible meadly of interesting flavors from Korean bbq cauliflower to kimchi -- highly recommend giving it a try! Others in our groups got sandwiches and mentioned they thought they were small and overpriced for what you got, but the salads were a big hit. We enjoyed the sampling and the ability to get most menu items, dips, and ingredients to go from the market.

Yelp
I never knew chicken broth and a salad could taste so good. I'm on a mini-health kick at the moment and forcing myself to eat "healthier." I do this from time to time, as I kind of care about my health a little bit. I was headed to feast with a friend for lunch for the first time this week and was a little worried about how enticed I might be by a big bready sandwich when the choice I wanted myself to make was salad. The sandwich menu did look fantastic, but the salad menu was just as beautiful and delicious sounding! They also had "bone broth" which I heard is good for the health, so I went for a combo of a small cup of the broth and a Mediterranean salad. When it came out, I wasn't disappointed, and I wasn't even envious of my friend's sandwich! Instead, I was delighting in my perfectly-dressed salad and the warm soothing bone broth the entire time. Bonus: the presentation of the food was oh-so-lovely. I love myself some pretty food! I'll definitely be heading back here. The price is right- you can get lunch for under 10 bucks, and the ingredients are truly of the high, locally-sourced quality- and the taste is perfect! If you haven't tried Feast yet (because you are living under a rock apparently like I was until this past Tuesday) then you need to get there fast!

Yelp
The feast is always a wonderful stop for an elevated sandwich for lunch. When we travel through Charlottesville we often end up there. I am going to start with a complaint and that is every sandwich is 9, 10, 11 ,12 dollars. It comes with a side, but a small pile if spring greens is $1.50 more. Look at the pics. It hard to believe that tax and tip that that is a $16 plate. These are not the right prices for this food. I get its the neighborhood, but it's a little insulting. With that said, their options are creative, with magical flavor pairings; and executed with a deft hand. This trip we had my old favorite: Ham, goat cheese, rocket and a jam/chutney. Fig is the best, I am not sure it was fig today, but still very tasty. The bread is very delicately prepared and raises the enjoyment. Its not a big serving so only avoid if you need a bigger portion and that, brings me to the surprise of my day. Our 2nd sandwich was called pho-rench dip. It was a wonderful play on Vietnamese Pho soup. I believe slices beef with cilantro and a sriracha mayo that you dip in a cup of pho broth, slightly better flavor than the pho at your fav Viet-joint. I sat there thinking "why has no one come up with this before!" I want more. The serving was bigger, but I always feel they are under sized compared to your standard sandwich joint, albeit its probably what I should be eating at lunch. If the price was right, Many items on this menu are 5 stars w/o question.

Yelp
Feast is a great place for a casual meal! It's part cafe (with delicious sandwiches and soups), part grocery (with prepared meals, in-house brand drinks, and fun snacks), and part coffee shop (it literally has a coffee truck inside). Order your meal and while you wait for it check out the grocery section! You can also buy a bottle of wine and drink it right there, which is a definite pro.

Yelp
Second time in Charlottesville, but now I will be visiting often. I called Feast 10 minutes before they closed to ask about their hours. The lady who answered was very pleasant and helpful , and they let me order and come pick up 10 minutes after they closed! Another friendly lady brought my sandwich out to me. Five star customer service (and excellent sandwich too).

Yelp
This little market embodies the spirit of Cville. Tons of fresh local produce and locally sourced yummy things! A superb cheese counter, some of the best olive oil and tons of local wines! Not to mention how many little things you can walk around the store and taste. Also a perfect lunch spot! Definitely worth stopping by

Yelp
We've been to Feast a few times during various visits to Charlottesville and they are always consistent. Part marketplace, part counter order restaurant, they have a varied lunch menu with numerous vegetarian options including soup, salad and sandwiches. The squash grilled cheese we got there was a real standout. Prices are reasonable and service prompt and accurate. The seating area is a little different - they have tables in the hallway of the small interior mall the restaurant is a part of. Great choice for lunch in & around the downtown mall.
