It is always a pleasure when in Vancouver, to drop in and view the beautiful artworks on display at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island. It's a wonderful way to relax, unwind and destress after a good walk along the water. The gallery continually displays new works of some of BC's most talented artists. No matter what media you prefer, you'll find it in the FCA Gallery. We live in the Okanagan and our visits to Vancouver would not be complete without a visit to the gallery.

The Federation of Canadian Artists Gallery has an amazing display of art work. The staff is very informative and welcoming. The art work is of the highest quality and there are wonderful artists to choose from. Even if you are not looking to buy, you might find a treasure here. Purchases can be mailed to many countries. I'll give it 5 stars based on the quality of the art work. If you are a visitor to Vancouver you can find the gallery on Granville island which is a very popular artistic area. You'll find pottery and print making studios, artists at work, and several restaurants to have lunch, and then browse through the lovely market.

A long time staple on Granville Island, the Federation Gallery is a must see in Vancouver! The Gallery houses fantastic artworks by local B.C. and Canadian artists, providing a space for the Canadian art scene to continue to flourish. Displaying a wide variety of themes and styles, the FCA plays host to a number of shows throughout the year that change every couple of weeks, so there is always something new and exciting on display. Prices and size vary, making these art works affordable for all budgets. Whether you’re in the market to purchase a painting or simply just enjoy art in all of its beauty, I highly recommend a visit to this one of a kind gallery!

While on a trip to Vancouver I made a point of visiting Granville island to view the latest exhibit in the Federation Gallery. I was not disappointed. The artwork was truly amazing and was a good representation of work by emerging and established artists from across Canada. I would highly recommend visiting the friendly gallery while enjoying the charm of the island. I will definitely be back.

I have been going to the Federation Gallery on Granville Island any time I have been in Vancouver since the 1980s. It is always a worthwhile visit to see fabulous Canadian original art. I exhibit there now as an artist and it is always an honour to be accepted to one of their juried and curated shows.

One of Granville Island's gems! The Federation of Canadian Artists flagship Gallery displays members work from across Canada. A very high caliber of juried selections are curated into excellent displays in this great central location. Professional staff and management and new online exhibitions guarantee a fabulous viewing & purchasing experience for art lovers. Support our local Canadian artists - and add to your collection!

Yelp
We had a really great experience visiting the FCA gallery. We have been there twice, and it is absolutely beautiful and never disappoints. We will continue to visit when we are in the Vancouver area. The space is filled with absolutely beautiful paintings by Canadian artists. Such talented artists! There is a mix of paintings as well as some sculptures. The vibe of this space is very relaxed and warming. The gallery is very clean and easy to navigate. The staff is always so friendly and happy to answer any questions that you may have. We even wound up purchasing a beautiful painting by Maggie Ziegler called "On the Way to becoming." We are always so impressed by FCA. If you are in Vancouver, and want to visit a beautiful art gallery, we recommend stopping in here. Admission is free and donations are always welcomed.

Yelp
I need to confess two things: 1. Despite my frequent visits to Granville Island over the past 6 years, since I moved to Vancouver, I never visited this art gallery here. In fact, I didn't even know it existed. 2. I'm embarrassed to admit, despite my love for the arts (and especially Canadian art), I wasn't aware of the Federation of Canadian Artists until recently, when my artist friend became a member of this long-standing prestigious organization. The organization runs the gallery here and, technically, the gallery is named "Federation Gallery". That's what the signage says. (Side note: I was going to create a "new business" here on Yelp for the Federation Gallery, but decided to use the existing organizational name, and this existing page). This is such a wonderful gallery, in so many ways! It's not the biggest or the poshest gallery. There are no snooty folks walking around, and no employees hovering as you browse. No-one tries to sell you anything (although the works here are available for purchase). No-one looks down on you if you ask questions about the showcased pieces or the artists. But there ARE a lot of diverse artworks, in various mediums, in diverse formats, in different genres, all done by Canadian artists, all members of the Federation. I like how here you can see up-and-coming local artists. So many are so talented! I found this passage on their website SO interesting: "The FCA continues to operate as a registered charity with members throughout Canada and Chapters in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario. The FCA is dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement by offering what is believed to be the first completely artists' sponsored gallery in Canada. Currently the Federation is the only national-level visual arts organization that manages their own full-time art gallery". Cool! While visiting, I signed up for their email list, to get advance notice of their openings and events and art shows. If you're interested in art, I encourage you to visit this gallery and to check out their website.

Yelp
Love the new interactive displays! Ensure your phone is set up to scan a QR code - then read (or watch a video) to learn more about the meaning behind the painting. Looking forward to the October exhibit on Climate Change!

Yelp
I came here a few hours before my Elite Event that was happening in and around the same area. Since the event was an art Gallery themed event I thought that I would do something along the same lines on the Island. The advantage to it being rainy is that it was quiet today. In general I was looking for anything and everything to do with art. I do plan on making this week my Granville Island art exploration week. Great assortment of local artists, well spaced out area and a lovely host.
