Review of Feel Hostels Soho Malaga
The hostel is very well located in Malaga, close to the city center and with easy access to everything. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming, and there's a parking lot right in front, which is convenient if you're traveling by car.
Unfortunately, there were several downsides to the stay. The Wi-Fi at the hostel is almost unusable – it’s extremely slow and unstable. I often had trouble even loading a video. Also, for travelers from Scandinavia, be aware that your regular round plugs won’t work here, as the power outlets are different. Be sure to bring an adapter.
The rooms were okay – nothing great, but not terrible either. There was no TV, and the beds were very average. Fine for a short stay if you're just sleeping and moving on.
In my opinion, the price doesn’t quite match what you get. The breakfast was very bland and tasteless, so we often chose to skip it and eat out in the city, where there were much better options.
We had a handicap-accessible room, which was definitely a positive, as I was assisting someone with a physical disability on this school trip. However, the bathroom had a strange setup where you had to turn on both the sink and the shower taps to get hot water – a confusing and inconvenient system.
My biggest issue with the hostel was the lack of soundproofing. You can hear everything – people walking and talking in the hallways, especially at night. When guests returned late from the city, it felt like they were yelling right outside our door. We were woken up several times during our 5-night stay.
On the positive side, one great convenience was that the hostel allowed us to store our luggage after check-out. This was a big help, as we had a late departure and didn’t have to carry our bags around the city for hours.
Overall, while the location and staff are good, the facilities and comfort don't quite live up to the price.
