Aspen, Colorado Guide: Here’s Where To Stay, Ski, and Eat In America’s Chicest Mountain Town | Vogue

"Coffee inside Hotel Jerome can be a pick‑me‑up or a delicious winter dessert: the signature hickory‑smoked s’mores latte comes topped with a roasted marshmallow finish, best sipped amid maximalist interiors designed by Ken Fulk." - Elise Taylor

"You may not need us to share the news that Felix Roasting Co.—the buzzy Ken Fulk-designed coffee shop—opened at Hotel Jerome this fall, as you’ve probably already seen it on Instagram. The interiors are done in Fulk’s signature maximalist style: think peacock velvet banquettes, pink fringed slipper chairs, and Murano glass chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The menu matches the decor’s playful extravagance, offering up beverages like a hickory smoked s’mores latte, a lavender Honeycomb latte, as well as bagels with blueberry and sage cream cheese, fresh strawberries, blackberries, cinnamon and mint."

"If you’re looking for a coffee shop that’s more about finding a space and settling in, Felix is for you: the otherworldly Ken Fulk interiors of this large space feel like something out of a Wes Anderson vision of old monied Europe, and though the coffee and matcha are a bit steep, you’re really paying for the ambiance — snag a table and get it to stay." - Coolstuff Team

Google
Such a gorgeous coffee shop and I loved working remote here for a few hours. They have my favorite tea brand (Rishi) and delicious coffee! Yes, it’s spendy but it’s a fun treat. The service was also very friendly.

Google
I would recommend you check out this coffee shop! They have some breakfast options, amazing coffee, the pastry was really good, try the cinnamon bun (honestly best cinnamon bun I've ever had)

Ordered a double espresso and didn’t like it at all. No crema. No distinct flavors of note. It was ready before I had even finished paying, how is that possible??? The baristas couldn’t provide any information about the coffee other than, “it’s a medium roast.” I asked where it’s from and they said, “all over the world.” Come on guys! You have one of the only shops with a real espresso machine! Please learn to use that to your advantage. My assumption is that they are using pre ground coffee to make their shots. Would not recommend.

A Delightful Experience at Felix Roasting Co. in Aspen During my four-day stay in Aspen, visiting Felix Roasting Co. became a daily highlight, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Justine and her team. Justine was an absolute ray of sunshine—kind, attentive, and always going the extra mile to make me feel welcome. Whether I was ordering matcha, hot chocolate, pastries, or avocado toast, she ensured every detail was perfect, from the beautifully crafted drinks to checking in on my comfort. Her warm and thoughtful service, along with her ability to remember my name, made each visit feel personal and special. She greeted me with a smile and always made sure other guests were well taken care of. The entire team upheld the highest level of service, truly reflecting the first class service— which is expected from an Auberge property. Felix Roasting Co. is not just a café—it’s an experience. I can’t wait to return!

Google
I love coffee and this place is very nice looking. I’m not one for critiquing the beans themselves because I understand the flavor profiles people like vary, but I ordered a cortado and wasn’t a huge fan. Texture was off and latte art was weak. Service was nothing spectacular but was not awful. Fairly unengaged is all. The place itself looks very clean and inviting. Very comfortable. I would try it again, but I’d probably order a latte or something more forgiving than a straight espresso or cortado.

Google
We had the best breakfast & coffee at Felix. The space is beautifully designed - elegant yet cozy. We had coffee and a matcha latte with their homemade nut milk and it was amazing! The food selection is great and their ricotta toast is literally a work of art. We were a little hesitant to come at first due to the low google rating, however, it seems most of the bad reviews are due to the 15% gratuity automatically applied. Definitely agree that is annoying and the only downside to this cafe. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Google
Beautiful little cafe. The barista was so nice and recommended me the drink I got. They seem so caring and the vibe just made me smile. Pink velvet couches are a great accent.

Fancy Fancy. First time in Aspen and we need to kill some time in the morning so we popped in for a Chai and coffee and ended up trying breakfast. The Avo Toast is superb !!! Probably the most artisan toast I’ve ever had. Staff was friendly. Even the hotel bathroom was fancy.

Yelp
We are visiting for the weekend and wanted to come here. My husband and I came here and waited for almost 5 minutes with no wait and watched 3 girls behind the counter and 1 guy at the end of the counter continue whatever they were doing before we got a Hello. I ordered a Cortado which was 7 dollars and tried to order a latte but this coffee shop doesn't have hazelnut so I ended up not adding the latte. The attitude could have been better but when she printed our receipt to sign she said they add an automatic 10% gratuity. WHAT? Is that why you had horrible customer service because you are getting tips no matter what? Yeah definitely go on street over to Unraveled coffee bar - amazing customer service, cheaper prices, excellent coffee, and they Earn their tips!

Yelp
Super cute cafe attached to the Jerome but also has an exterior entrance from the street. Right on the corner so street parking shouldn't be too difficult. The pastries are not only gorgeous but also delicious. And ginormous!! I'm not even one who usually eats pastries much less a massive chocolate one but wow I'm so glad I ordered the Swiss chocolate croissant-- it's perfectly flaky on the outside and soft and rich in the inside. Really the perfect bite over and over again. Their coffee is good, I got an oat latte and enjoyed it (but it's also kind of hard to f up an oat latte). I know their coffee is their main thing but I can't say it was life changing. L the place itself is an absolute dream with feminine decor and decadent details. The staff is super friendly and everything came out quickly. I also appreciate the fact that they had dog bowls so not only is it dog friendly but also they have water bowls for your furry pals. Absolutely recommend for dining in or takeout. I will be back and can't wait to try the hickory smoked s'mores latte.

Yelp
Iced vanilla matcha and espresso croissant. I was very surprised with the matcha and how good it was compared to other places i've tried. All pasties are made in house and the croissant was great!

Yelp
On my first few days in Aspen (and Snowmass), I haven't been impressed with the restaurants (so far!). Granted, this isn't a restaurant, but I was quite impressed with this coffee bar... First of all, the place itself has a great ambiance, with a spacious layout, great artwork, comfy lounge chairs, good overhead music, etc. etc. I ordered their hot Matcha Latte...and it was ready within 3 minutes, with good Latte art as well. It was mildly sweet, but had a rich, honey-like taste to it...and a nice amount of Matcha flavor. Loved it!! If I lived here, I can definitely see myself returning often.

Yelp
This coffee shop is attached to the Hotel Jerome so you know it's a little fancy and pricey. My latte was $7, which is only $1 more than I normally pay in Los Angeles. Needing a little something to eat, I had the avocado toast which was quite good, put a pricey $20. The coffee shop is comfortable and bright with big windows facing Main Street.

Yelp
This spot is absolutely gorgeous! The interior is exactly how I would want to decorate my home..one day, haha! The staff were very friendly. The coffee is served in very cute reusable containers and very good. The croissant was amazing but I would suggest sharing it as it is super sweet. It's a small spot so there isn't a ton of seating but if you are able to snag a table and enjoy your treats you'll be very glad you did! The only reason for my four stars is it is on the pricey side but hey! That's Aspen for ya!

Yelp
Beautiful place to enjoy coffee in Aspen. The coffee shop is decorated so nicely and it's a nice place to hang out in inside the hotel Jerome. The two ladies working behind the counter are so friendly and hardworking. The coffee is great and will be a regular spot for us to visit when in town

Yelp
Stopped by this coffee shop with a couple friends on our weekend trip. This was the highest rated coffee shop in the town and I have seen it all over TikTok so I decided to give it a try. There are not many coffee shops in the area either. The coffee is just alright, definitely nothing special and pretty watered down in taste. I enjoyed my drink more than my friends, but it was just below average. We ordered a hot chocolate as well and even that was made poorly. The drinks and food are more on the expensive side, but that was not a problem for us. Ambience is cute and aesthetic, but that's about it. We were definitely expecting more. The service was good though. The cashier/barista was sweet and accommodating, though my drink was made wrong initially. Probably would not come back, but I'm glad we tried it once.

Yelp
A very cozy and eclectic coffee shop with good coffee and a delicious avocado toast. Great place for coffee or breakfast with a friend!

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop located adjacent to Hotel Jerome. If you're looking for a quiet hang out place with relaxing atmosphere, this is it. However, be ready to spend an arm and a leg at this place - our bill was almost $70 for a matcha, cortado, toast, and a pastry -- Were they delicious? Yes. But can I justify doing this all the time? Questionable... It's definitely an experience though; and I think if you stick to the basic drinks, the upcharge may not be too much.

Yelp
Ambiance was amazing and avocado toast was delicious! Very pricey but to be expected in Aspen. Coffee was not my favorite but would still recommend checking this place out.
google avatar

Ari R.

Yelp
What can I say? Felix is top-notch. It is located at Hotel Jerome in a lovely, historic room off the lobby. Lattes come out perfectly, the coffee is superb.. they have alternative milks. And bakery! Even gluten free bakery! As far as I'm concerned, Felix is the only craft coffee spot in Aspen. It's all you need. There is a location or two in New York, as well. Enjoy!

Momo O.

Yelp
The decor is really great, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Our drinks were pretty underwhelming; a chalky, bitter cortado and the mocha was salty and poorly balanced.

Gary S.

Yelp
Try all the coffee shops I can and always judge by the drip coffee as not much for the specialty preparations. The best drip cup of coffee I've had since France. Keep up the good work

Aspen S.

Yelp
The coffee got better, but still not quite the best yet, and it tastes less burned than previous time. I am a coffee junkie and love my coffees. I will be back on my next trip.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
Quite expensive but so is the rent in Aspen... I had an oat milk cappuccino the other day (asked for soy but they don't carry it) and it was very tasty. The interior is very old timely, something out of late 1800s Americana.

Anna S.

Yelp
Wow this place is pretty! What a beautiful spot to enjoy your coffee. To me, this place is well suited for Aspen's elevated style. How could it be anything but ornate when attached to the elegant Hotel Jerome? As others have said, it is pricey, but that shouldn't come as a shock considering where you are and what you are getting. Is this the place for a quick, cheap grab and go coffee fix? No. This place is intended to provide an experience, and for me, it did that. And of course, the coffee and the barista were both great!
google avatar

Mitali N.

Yelp
Overpriced but amazing ! Got the mocha. Definitely come in with time on your hand so you can enjoy the ambience.

Yelp
Listen, there is nothing not to like about this coffee spot! First of all, it's in the resplendent Jerome Hotel. Secondly, the decor and design are so beautiful that I think this might be the prettiest place I've ever enjoyed an espresso! The aqua and gold paper bags are so pretty that I saved one as a souvenir. The coffee was wonderful, and the staff friendly. You can't go wrong here. You just can't.
google avatar

Nadia A.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! A little expensive (but it is Aspen after all), but the tonic is so refreshing and unique. The espresso revitalizes every time you taste it. Also a super cute place to sit and read or write. Highly recommend!

Rafe S.

Yelp
8.80 for a small iced latte. Nothing special at all. Good ambiance and vibe but understand that you are paying nearly 3 dollars more for a drink from a place just for the location. The latte was mediocre, and they auto charge gratuity...I'm sorry. I am not willing to pay 15% gratuity for me and the waiter saying 5 words to each other. For this price and this size , the latte should have gold leaf, candied caviar and come with a complementary foot massage. With all due respect to the kind people that work at the management of this company and hotel Jerome, please get over yourselves and reasonably price your products for their quality. Go to Unravel Coffee. They are significantly better, just as good vibe, and way better coffee, and much cheaper.

Katie A.

Yelp
the flavor is amazing but not worth the slow service & high price. $10 for a tea or coffee to go. Some of the baristas are quick & efficient and get that pouring a tea or coffee should not have you waiting behind latte and specialty orders. Unfortunately others would rather gab with the customers than do a quick pour. I won't be going back during the work week/wish I had 15-20 min to wait for a black coffee but unfortunately I don't...

Yelp
Adorable coffee shop with house made nut milk, made out of cashew, almonds, and pepitas. We tried the cappuccino, latte, dirty chai latte and matcha latte during our stay. The nut milk is creamy and smooth, and balanced out the espresso bitterness well. Foodwise, I'm pretty sure the only offering that doesn't have animal products was the avocado toast ($18!). Aside from the price tag, it was delish. Thick sourdough bread, mashed avocado, pickled onions, radishes. With some lemon squeezed on top it was just the right amount of umami and tart, yum! The atmosphere of the coffee shop, which is attached to Hotel Jerome is luxurious and quirky. Gold plated ceilings, velvet teal green couches (although unfortunately the seats may be leather), blush pink, floral wallpaper, and paintings matching the wallpaper motif. Milonga was playing in the background, and Felix is definitely reminiscent of old style Argentina, or a Wes Anderson movie.

Yelp
Such an adorable coffee shop with cozy and upscale decor! Felix Roasting Company is attached to Hotel Jerome and is well worth a visit. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable and made a tasty decaf Americano. There is a selection of pastries at well that looked very tasty. Prices are high compared to your average coffee shop, but not outlandish for Aspen (iced Americano was just shy of $7 after the included gratuity). A great spot to get some work done or catch up with a friend!
google avatar

Cherie S.

Yelp
Bougie cafe with delicious pastries and matcha latte. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is attached to a hotel.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
This gorgeous little coffee shop is pretty discrete - it's attached to hotel Jerome. The decor and ambience are stunning - lush blush and teal velvet seating areas and gorgeous art and lighting. Very luxe Latin American vibe. The espresso is delicious and strong, albeit a $5 americano is probably only 8oz of the good stuff. The prices are a bit higher than Starbucks (and you don't get as much) but for a vibey coffee nook, this place is perfect. Service is slow - took almost 15 min for 3 americanos.
google avatar

Chloe P.

Yelp
The cooffee there was great although the prices were though the rough I got a bagel and for just a bagel and cream cheese it was $16 dollars, the ambiance was good though it was a small and dainty bakery with a lot of appreciated details, I would have to say I would go there again for the coffee but not much else because of the prices

Sammy T.

Yelp
Very expensive and service was not up to the standard, 15 mn wait for 2 Matchas and no thank you from server even though they charge an automatic 15% gratuity. Lacking a service smile and acknowledging my extra wait at least. I asked cashier for receipt, she gave me the one she was about to throw in the bin, the receipt did not have the details of items purchased, only the total, she had a bad attitude and did not apologize.
google avatar

Audrey O.

Yelp
I loved everything about this experience, but only because I wasn't the one paying. This place is ridiculously overpriced...

Grace L.

Yelp
A bit overpriced but cute atmosphere. Visited in Feb 2023. Would recommend the egg sandwich
google avatar

Alejandro O.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite coffee spots in the Downtown Aspen area. I passed by here on their opening day inside of Hotel Jerome to have a cortado and croissant. The space was nicely decorated and aesthetically pleasing, service was quick and friendly, and the taste of both the cortado and the croissant were delicious! Honestly the price was a bit high but Aspen is Aspen so it comes with said price tag. Will definitely stop by again next time I'm in town!

J D.

Yelp
Great vibes and relaxed atmosphere with some people on laptops and reading. Nutella croissant was phenomenal. Probably the best coffee shop in Aspen.
google avatar

Whitney E.

Yelp
Great coffee shop. Latte was well balanced, smooth, and creamy. They make their own in house strips and nut milk.

N A.

Yelp
This place is cute with a welcoming atmosphere, but, the coffee I had was waaaaaayyyyy overpriced and just not all that tasty. I would probably go back again, but not splurge on the smoked marshmallow latte. I've heard the house-made oatmilk is rather good.
