This one hurts to write. I have loved Feng's for many years. It's always been top notch taste and quality. However, when I received my order, I was very disappointed. My Egg Foo Young was cooked to smithereens as well as my almost burnt Egg Roll (fried to the utmost). Rice was over cooked. Lastly, I'm being generous at 3 stars. I work too hard for my money to come back. I'll learn to make my own. I sure hope they get it together and bring back the top notch quality and not over cook the food.

It was my first time visiting here. The place was clean inside and the staff was friendly. I ordered the lunch special chicken lo mien (with fried rice) and shrimp broccoli in garlic sauce (with fried rice) lunch special. The special included choice of soup, which I picked egg drop soup. The food was piping hot and cooked to order. The chicken lo mien was good and tasted like most chicken lo mien you get at chinese restaurants. The fried rice was okay, nothing special. The shrimp broccoli was not so good. The shrimp itself tasted good. However, the broccoli and vegetables with the dish had an old dirty taste. The egg drop soup had no flavor (bland didn't eat it). I won't be going back. I gave a 3 star because the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Would not recommend. Total cost for both dishes roughly 18 dollars and some change.

Google
We were disappointed in our take out order of Sesame chicken. It was over cooked and very dry. Tasted like it was made much earlier and then placed in a warming tray. Prior to my review I tried to contact Feng's for a possible credit. We received NO reply. We won't go back unless they give us a credit for the past disappointment. The ball is in Feng's court.

With my recent order I had opened my lo mein and after starting to eat I noticed there were bits of hard black plastic flakes in the noodles. I dug through the noodles to check if it was only that bit. After looking I found a few more smaller pieces in the food and I could not eat any of it.

Google
The food was really authentic and on point, the service was absolutely amazing. They were very timely with the serving of food and the hospitality was through the roof. 5/5 would definitely recommend

They messed up our order . And my husband had to drive to exchange. They were nice and exchanged it but they didn’t refund us price difference .

Update to my post about a month ago. Feng's manager DID follow up and was apologetic, friendly and understanding. They sent us a gift certificate, so YES we will go back and try their food again!

Google
Awesome food..Go there now! Mongolian beef is on fire. Beef mei fun very good as The shrimp lo mein. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This is by far the best Chinese establishment in all of Lake Country. Everything tastes exactly as it should. They are really good about holding the mushrooms as we are not fans of fungi. Their chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli, and cashew chicken are very good. Their egg rolls are spot on as well.

Calvin V.

Yelp
Awful... paid a lot for sub par Chinese. The beef was super chewy with a weird slimy texture. Definitely don't waste ur time or money here

Quincy W.

Yelp
worst Chinese food I've eaten in my entire life. The fried rice was just brown rice not fried and the lo mein was over cooked spaghetti noodles. It wasn't even Chinese food. It was just really badly prepared microwaved food.

Fermin V.

Yelp
My buddy and I decided to try this place. I judge new places on the General Tso's chicken. Food came out fast, not even 3 minutes after ordering fast. I got the lunch special general tso's and the wonton soup was delicious. The chicken was decent, I would prefer it with alittle more spice. The portions were good for the price, definitely getting your money's worth. I will definitely be trying it again to see what else the menu offers.

Cadyn P.

Yelp
This joint is a hidden gem in Waukesha County. Extremely friendly staff, it looks like they love their job. The food is to die for. So delicious. The best bang for your buck I have seen in decades. Feng is a splendid chef and could go toe to toe with Bobby Flay.

Amanda M.

Yelp
They gave myself and my roommate food poisoning from improperly handled chicken. The food poisoning was so bad, I had to go to the hospital for medication and IV fluids

Anon A.

Yelp
I would leave 0 Stars if I could. Let me tell you about my experience. Overpriced & not even fit to feed my dog. $45 to have chicken fried rice and sesame chicken delivered. The chicken was freezer burned and you couldn't even chew through it had to throw it away. And the rice tasted like the fake plastic pellets China is passing for rice. And as leftovers it tasted really chalky and weird. Had to throw it out. Wasted a lot of money on inedible "food".

William H.

Yelp
This is one of the worst Chinese places I have ever been too. I am a 35+ year connoisseur of Chinese and Thai foods. Their fried rice dishes at this place tastes like just rice with soy sauce added to it and the rice is too soft. I can literally make fried rice better than theirs! That's it! You can buy frozen fried rice that tastes better! I would Highly recommended you go elsewhere. Panda Express tastes better and that's saying something! Whomever owns this, either get the correct recipe for Chinese food, a cooks who knows how to Chinese food, or just go out of business and start something out of the restaurant industry. I am pissed that wasted almost $30 on this sh_t! Do NOT listen to the other reviews because either their taste buds are off or they are biased. The only thing I will agree with is that the staff are friendly.

Connie B.

Yelp
Their lunch specials are amazing. For $8.55 you get choice of soups, entree, and fried rice (or brown or white rice). Generous portions. I had Kung Bo chicken and my husband had General Tso's chicken. We liked them both very much.

Kim K.

Yelp
I've ordered from this place twice, the first time it was pretty good. I had no complaints then I read their health score. Well last night I am having a craving for chicken fried rice, they were open so I ordered. NEVER again. Now rice is pretty cheap and you would think that they should be able to make rice without breaking the bank and then they can give their customer's some much-needed FRESH rice! NOT .... it was terrible and I ended up having to throw it out. This was a small carton for eight dollars. Come on Feng's!!! oh yeah, and if I were you, I would get the health department back out there with those problems you had, FIXED and people don't have to eat in fear! .

Karla B.

Yelp
I put in an online order at 4:15pm. Pretty early. When I go home with my order, one on tray was wrong and one appetizer was missing. I call Feng's, and I got a guy who took my number and said he couldn't help me and that his manager would get back to me. No one ever called me back. Sip Feng's and go to Mom's Kitchen, who is just down the road.

Jake P.

Yelp
We eat at Fengs all the time, it's our favorite Chinese place around Waukesha. Pork dumplings are especially delicious, definitely a must try restaurant around here. The staff is always really friendly as well, I'm a big fan.

Bridget E.

Yelp
Unless you drive to china town in Chicago this is the best Chinese around. Staff is friendly, store is clean, food is hot and fresh. Food comes out very quick and you can order ahead. I take any out of town family here. High recommend on the crab Rangoon's (literally a must have every time - the best crab Rangoon's I have in a really long time), orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, triple delight, happy family and more. Just count on having leftovers.

Lauren P.

Yelp
Feng's Kitchen is overall very inconsistent. I usually consider their products to be my favorite Chinese food in the area, but within the past 2-3 months I've had such mixed experiences. I always get sesame chicken and crab Rangoon. I am never disappointed by the crab Rangoon. The sesame chicken, however, is either typically burned, chewy, or comes without sesame seeds. I never know what kind of food I'll be receiving when I order from here. Just today I ordered sesame chicken and I found a sliver of a bone in my last chunk of chicken. Turned my stomach.. All in all the food is very tasty, just unpredictable and inconsistent with definite room for growth.

Steven T.

Yelp
I was still looking for a new egg roll place and I was looking for a Chinese lunch that was open at noon on a Sunday which can be hard, the better reviewed ones seem to open between 3-5 pm. The place is in a strip mall and not bad looking with an outdoor patio and a small eat in area. The inside looked clean/fresh with wood tables/chairs and color on the walls. There is a lunch menu on Sunday that comes with rice and soup, I had the Gen Taos chicken with fried rice and hot/sour soup with an up charge pork egg roll. The service was friendly and the food came fresh and hot. The pork egg roll was better than average and not super great but not one of those crappy ones. The fried rice was cooked nicely, al dente and not mushy with chunks of pork but it was just texture because it was very light in color and not much flavor, soy sauce needed here. The Gen Taos chicken was crispy and my first thought was that the sauce was sweet and tasty with dark meat chicken, I can go either way with white or dark so this was ok with me. The chicken was plentiful with some rice so they didn't do the opposite and give you a ton of rice and little chicken to fill the bowl. The hot and sour soup for the most part was ok with mushrooms and some liver cube looking things, I never order this soup and have only had it twice in my life so I don't know where it stands compared to others but it was thick and ok. Overall I would give it a solid 3.5 because it was a better than the average Chinese lunch special but not the best like from my favorite place and I would definitely eat another lunch special or a regular menu item.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Customer service was good and they did not disappoint with our special request to make the sesame chicken spicy. However, I have been ordering crab rangoon from there since they opened and was shocked to find berries in it as opposed to green onions??? When did this change? I am fully aware you can make these this way but not what I was expecting at all, nor wanted. Super bummed, would have appreciated a heads up on the website or menu that they've changed these.

Adrienne A.

Yelp
I order regular takeout from this local favorite for the last five years. Consistent, good quality ingredients. Favorites are the house lo mein, general tso chicken, pork fried rice, sesame chicken, pan fried pork dumplings, vegetable and pork egg rolls, and "diet food" chicken and broccoli (no sauce) for the kids. Vegetables are always extremely fresh. Note, the "spicy" dishes are not very spicy if you don't specify, so be sure to note your spice level preference on your order. Delivery is always quick and courteous. Thanks for the great service!

Andy S.

Yelp
Tried for first time, via delivery. We got the main dish but did not receive the fried rice, which is pretty important for the meal. My wife called the restaurant and the employee said the manger deals with that and will call us back. Still haven't received the call back. Probably will not be returning. Decent customer service could've easily changed our experience.

Kennedy E.

Yelp
False advertisement! Looked up my order on there website, was only supposed to be $27.30 and they charged me when I walked in $46.89 I told them that there prices are different on there website and they should honor what there website says and instead they had me pay $30 and took out my sweet and sour chicken I ordered without telling me they were doing so. all my food was cold and tasted GROSS! Would not recommend this place to anyone. customer service was horrible!

Casey J.

Yelp
Super bomb chinese, always fast, always correct order, always greasy. Want your fried rice and rangoons fast and hot and greasy? Look no further fengs got you covered.

Kathy B.

Yelp
Husband & I stopped for the first time tonight. Good was excellent. The crab rangoon was perfect, best I've ever had.

Shari K.

Yelp
egg foo yung.. crappy... vegs too big... not chopped .. meat old and over cooked, huge pieces.... no flavor. won't return

Erik E.

Yelp
tl;dr What was once the best take out place is now a bowel inducing mess. I've been ordering Feng's since 2012. From the start they had top-notch quality, including taste, texture, portions and price. I usually default to the sesame chicken combo and steamed dumplings, while my wife would go for the mei fun and dumpling soup. My favorite part was probably the fried rice, as it was always perfectly fried, that perfect balance of soft/crunch. Over the years, I started to slowly notice things weren't up to the same standards I was used to, and I think they honestly cut quality to keep their prices the same. The fried rice has become soft, the sauces have become sweeter and soupy, the stuffing of the dumplings now have a metallic taste, and the last three times I've ordered it's resulted in an immediate rush to the bathroom. I've hit my tolerance. Feng's, you lost it.

Andy M.

Yelp
This was my first ever stop at Feng's, and I got a pleasant surprise. I ordered roast pork egg foo yong and instead of the traditional three patties, Feng's gave me four. I thought it was very good and I was impressed at the amount of food for the price. I would tell people to skip past the very mediocre chain, Panda Express, and go here instead. It is only about 200 yards southwest.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Fengs has been our favorite Chinese food in Waukesha for years, primarily for their crab rangoon but they suddenly changed their recipe. They started adding blueberries and you can no longer taste the crab or cream cheese. I have no idea why they started adding blueberries as I have never even heard of that in crab rangoon. Unfortunately won't be ordering from them anymore as this was our favorite thing on the menu.

Rick R.

Yelp
A co-worker at our Pewaukee office recommend this place. There are 6 tables for dining in, but most business seems to be carry-out. There were three carry-out orders in the short time I was there. I ordered a Szechuan Chicken lunch special ($5.75). The chicken was tender, the fried rice was moist with decent flavor, and the Szechuan sauce had a nice kick to it without being overwhelmingly spicy. Guys at the table next to me seemed to be a regular. I don't get out to Pewaukee often, and I prefer the Malaysian and SE Asian options at Mr. Wok, but if you're in the mood for Chinese and you're in the Pewaukee area, Feng's is not a bad choice.

M L.

Yelp
Yuck, plain and simple. "fried rice" was one of those 90 second rice microwave packs. The beef on a stick was jerky, to know how many times this was reheated.... sweet and sour sauce is pure corn syrup. I'm pretty sure the egg rolls were Chengs frozen egg rolls. Sad to see this is what this restaurant has come too, We use to eat here a lot when we lived closer. Where are the good Chinese restaurants at?

Dianne C.

Yelp
We had ordered from them before but the quality has gone WAY down. The food was cold, dry and tough and tasted like it had been sitting all day. Manager and "owner" were incredibly rude when I brought it to their attention. NEVER eating there again!

Molly H.

Yelp
Our favorite Chinese delivery. Always quick, consistently good quality and the best crab Rangoon. I haven't had a bad thing from here. We almost always have the same delivery driver too- he's always so friendly and kind.

Craig M.

Yelp
Had Feng's last night via Door Dash. Never cheap via DD, but Feng's good is always good sized portions and tasty. Until yesterday. I realize restaurants (and their customers) are struggling BUT holy crap! We noticed prices were up considerably - still we ordered and accepted that. BUT - when the food came - all portion sizes were downsized (without telling us or saying so on menu) - the former large size was in the small container - and get this - the "small" order was now in this new MICRO container! It was ridiculous the small amount of food we received for the price! They are now hitting customers on both sides - higher prices and much smaller servings! Be aware - and order double what you normally would - that will get you about the same amount of food that you used to get a few months ago!

Corey S.

Yelp
I usually get the Singapore Mei Fun (noodles) which are great. In the past I've had the Mongolian beef which was very good. I posted photos of those awhile back. Today I had General Tso's Chicken and it was just okay, not sure if it was the sweetness or the quality of the chicken and breading, the pork fried rice is different than what I'm used to it classic Chinese restaurant. Free hot tea in the lobby while you wait or dine in. Four stars because the food is cheap and fast and the other dishes I usually get are good.

Lulu S.

Yelp
:( what the heck happened? They used to have fabulous food - did they change owners or cooks? The recipes are totally different - from the soggy steamed potstickers to the orange chicken to my favorite spicy eggplant. Every single standard is totally different now. I've given it a few more tries but I'm done now. Time to find a new delivery in Waukesha

Nick B.

Yelp
I was sad when Panda Express moved in next door as I fear for my locally owned Chinese favorite. Luckily they are still in business and I hope they are doing well. The best dishes here is the Sesame Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. The egg rolls are very delicious too. I do not care for the young boy who works there as he does not have a very good understanding of what makes great customer service. He needs some training in friendliness. Other than that, this place is seriously as good as it gets for takeout Chinese! Keep up the good work!

Laura L.

Yelp
Food is good - typical food you'd expect- but they do their best to provide a good dining experience.

Todd S.

Yelp
Always had good food from Feng's. We've had several delivery's over the past year. Tonight it was the Seafood Delight and Shrimp w/ Mixed Veggies. And shrimp egg rolls. Delivered in 1/2 hour, hot and delicious.

Diana S.

Yelp
Amazing sesame chicken!! They put a good amount of sauce for it to completely cover the chicken & has a great taste. Highly recommend it and also the chicken lo mein!

Sir C.

Yelp
I am surprised by the low current reviews because the food here was great! Went to this place on a whim and left happy with my purchase!

Kari B.

Yelp
As others have said in previous reviews: not the best, but not the worst either. They give you a lot of food, but I would have preferred less food and better quality. We didn't even bother to keep any of the leftovers which says a lot in our household.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Food is expensive, the portions are small on many entrees, and it always takes a long time to deliver (1-2 hours and never less than an hour). However, I'd say the quality of what we have ordered has always been consistent. Love the chicken dumplings and the Chinese donuts!

Mike S.

Yelp
Good variety of food. Crab Rangoon great. Good prices. Staff is friendly and fast. Don't mind the kids though. Lol.

Caitlin J.

Yelp
Gave my husband horrible food poisoning!!! We called to tell them and they basically said "it had never happened to them before". Made me feel like I was called a liar!! Stay away

Megan H.

Yelp
I would say that Feng's falls somewhere on the middle. I have had better but I have had worse, but it is cheap so that always is a positive. Plus they always have $2, $3 or $5 off coupons. The delivery was quick the few times I have utilized their delivery service. Once I put in an order in the afternoon to have ready at 7, when I was getting back to Waukesha. I received a phone call about an hour and a half after placing my online order, saying that my food had been sitting there for an hour and if I was coming to get it. After saying that I had put in the order to be made for 7 pm, they apologized and remade the order to be ready for when I originally said. Overall, they have a medium-large selection that is good and cheap.

Bonnie B.

Yelp
Food is good but delivery take forever. I've never waited so long for an order. Thought maybe it was a one-time thing but I gave it another chance and it was the same thing.

Hilary R.

Yelp
Terrible service and their food is not even that good. We have ordered delivery in the past a few times because it's convenient but it has always taken about an hour. At 5:15 tonight we ordered dinner online for delivery. No time-frame was given. At 6:30 I called to see where our order was. They just said "it's on the way." They made no attempt whatsoever to give an explanation or apologize. At 6:55 I called to cancel my order. I told them to call their driver and cancel our order. No way am I paying for food that has been sitting in this guy's car for 25 minutes. Again, no apology or anything. At 7:00 the driver shows up to our house. My husband sent him away. Fed my kids a peanut butter sandwich so I could put them to bed. AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES for Chinese food is unacceptable. We live 3 miles from the restaurant. Never again!

Janelle M.

Yelp
We ordered from Feng's during the Badger game this past weekend because we figured Chinese food is a little less popular than pizza or wings for basketball games and I was HUNGRY. When my meal was finished, I felt satisfied and happy for several reasons: 1. It only took 15 minutes for our entire order. 2. Their online system is a cinch, and you actually get a discount for using it! 3. They offer brown rice for an extra 50 cents. I LOVE brown rice and think it should be an option at every takeout restaurant. Other things to note included the szechuan-style bean curd that my boyfriend's mom ordered, because it had fantastic flavor. Highly recommend that. I am trying to eat healthy for an upcoming race, and was very pleased with their "healthy" section on the menu. I ordered the chicken and broccoli w/brown rice and it was scrumptious! Vegetables were steamed to perfection, with some crunch still left. I despise soggy veggies (who doesn't?) so this was a huge plus. My boyfriend got his usual, Kung Pao chicken and seemed to like it (he mowed the whole thing in under 10 minutes). Feng's Kitchen beats King's Wok. Yeah, I said it.

Jordan M.

Yelp
Great food, nice environment and speedy service. I'm a fan!!! Haven't had any downsides yet.

Aimee L.

Yelp
I recently moved to the Pewaukee area and have been looking for a good Chinese takeout place to replace my old favorite. I placed an online order for delivery for a sweet & sour chicken and a seafood delight. Feng's online ordering process was very easy and effortless. When I placed my order online it showed that estimated delivery time was 40-50 minutes. Not long after the order was placed I received a phone call stating that delivery time would be closer to an hour, hour 20 minutes because they were very busy or I could pick up. I opted to wait for delivery figuring I could get some chores done around the house and I had a late lunch so a little extra time wasn't going to hurt. 2 hours after placing my order I was still waiting for my food...I called the restaurant and the person I spoke to couldn't locate my order for several minutes. Afterwards I could hear the person on the telephone speaking to someone in the background and when the person came back to the phone I was told that my food would have to be remade since it would be cold by the time it was delivered. The person I spoke to didn't even apologize for what happened!!!! I was so un-happy and hungry at that point I said thanks and hung up. The food arrived 20 minutes after I had called...it took 2 1/2 hours to arrive from the time that I had ordered. While the food was delicious the whole experience of waiting 2 1/2 hours for food with no explanation and no apology irritated me to no end and I will never, ever order Chinese takeout from this establishment.

David H.

Yelp
My colleague and I visited for lunch. They're set up more for takeout than for eating in, although we were lucky enough to find a table. They have a nice variety of Thai and Chinese. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce along with an egg roll and wonton soup. My colleague had the noodle soup---- a huge bowl. Food was very tasty as there were at least 6-8 large shrimp.

Marcia B.

Yelp
Sorry to say this restaurant has really gone downhill. Ordered take out, pork Lo mein was just "ok". Fried rice was very bland and left a funny taste behind. However, the beef with broccoli was not even edible. The beef had a pasty, slimy coating and was just gross. Not planning on going back.
