This Sunday-only market is a refreshing break from the typical tourist traps, offering a high-energy glimpse into local life where everyone seems to be tackling their actual weekly shopping. It’s a fascinating, multi-layered experience where you can find everything from home goods and cleaning supplies to undergarments and even furniture. Just a heads up: it is incredibly busy and people will constantly be bumping into you, so definitely keep your personal items held close. In my view, this type of market are the best way to see the true pulse of a city because nothing is staged for visitors. It's a lively, crowded hustle that is absolutely worth the walk-through if you're there on a Sunday. Keep in mind that I only saw about half of the vendors that had a sign that they accept credit card so if you really wanting to shop around, make sure you have cash on you.

A must when visiting Montevideo! We were able to get a great photo of the city and mate cups and bombillas as souvenirs here. They have everything you could want and was very fun Sunday activity.

This weekly flea market is amazing! It is several blocks long and about 3 blocks wide. Bought a pair of New Balance athletic shoes for considerably less than in the stores here, and a really delicious flame grilled pancha from one of the street vendors. Bring cash but a lot of the vendors take debit cards, too. Can be pretty crowded so plan accordingly.

A great way to spend a Sunday morning. You can spend hours exploring this flea market and not get bored. There’s something for everyone. It is absolutely enormous and there are so many trinkets to find. If you’re into fashion, there are so many vintage and second hand clothes to buy too. There is also a wide variety of food (chivito stalls, fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, cheese, brownies, etc). You cannot visit Montevideo and miss this flea market, it is simply a must. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in this market, it doesn’t exist!

This is an absolutely giant outdoor market and fair! It stretches across the entire neighborhood. There’s fruit vendors, art booths, and food stalls everywhere. Really fun experience!

This flea market is crazy huge. You can find anything here. Book lovers paradise - streets of books. Fine art, housewares, home decor, clothes, pet supplies, tools, treasures and junk It's all here. Find the papas rellenas vendor! We got there at 10:30 and by 2pm it was too crowded for us to casually explore.

I really enjoyed visiting the Sunday morning fair and recommend going early before it’s too crowded. 9 am is perfect! By 11 it’s filling up and by 12 it’s uncomfortably full on the main street. Lots of local vendors with interesting souvenirs, as well as books, food, antiques, household goods, and super random things as well.
