A handsome Victorian house opposite the railway station. Beautiful red brick with intricate stonework. Inside is spotless and well maintained with lots of original features and Scottish memorabilia (special call-out to the crossed claymores in the breakfast room). ||The welcome was warm and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order and all sourced from fantastic local produce. The owner, Robertson, was charming and knowledgeable about the local area. We had a great morning at Caerlaverock castle! Thank you!||A proper, traditional B&B. Would have given 5 stars but the mattress needed replacing.

We had a great stay at the Ferintosh. It was a perfect location for us travelling by train and within easy walking distance of the town. Robertson was a perfect host, welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and the house has great character. The breakfast was delicious too. This was the perfect place and we were so pleased we picked it.

Warm, cosy rooms. Very clean. Everything supplied for your stay including fluffy face towels and toiletries. Excellent breakfasts and warm hospitality too. Marvellous host. Great location for visiting the town. Most enjoyable stay. Had a great view of the railway station and enjoyed people watching. Surprisingly quiet even though it's on a busy road.

I stayed here recently with my partner for a three night stay in Dumfries. |We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our host. |The room had everything that we could expect and was modern and clean. |Breakfast was carefully prepared and there were a range of options for fresh cooked food each morning. |This B&B is full of character and charisma. It felt like a "home from home" and there was information about the local area and places to visit available. |Highly recommended and dog friendly too.

A great place to stay if you're travelling by train - just across from the station and an easy walk to town, the River Nith, and attractions like Moat Brae. I also enjoyed a short walk among the trees alongside a nearby rail reserve. Host Robertson is well-organised and friendly, chasing me down when I left for the train station without my white cane (easier to do than you might think!). Breakfast is good and the rooms are clean and neat. Thanks for a welcoming stay in Dumfries.

Thanks Robertson for being a great host at your property.
Never knew what to expect at this guest house,as I normally try and book hotel stays.
It was absolutely all we needed for a short time in Dumfries.
Having heard the background of the running of the property I am FULLY behind supporting the smaller guy with their business.
Thanks again for your welcome to your property.

It's a lovely place to stay. Robertson was extremely friendly and accommodating. I stayed at the start of July and I'm booked to stay the end of July. The location is perfect as its next to the train station. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options. Pet friendly and great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed my two night stay at the Ferintosh. A reasonable rate for a double room at the front overlooking the front garden. It was nice to sit there in the evening and enjoy the quiet.Despite it's proximity to the railway station I slept very well. Tasty breakfast both days .Only slight niggle was the bathroom fan in room next to mine was very noisy. However altogether I had a pleasant stay.
