Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park

The island is really beautiful but I can't shake off the feeling that it's beautiful only to look at. The only activity on this island I found wholesome is diving and animal watching, because there is huge amount of marine life, and I highly recommend it. Snorkeling is definitely a good idea too. Vegetation-wise it's basically no different from other places in Brazil. The beaches are visually stunning and it's indeed pretty easy to find a spot just for yourself, but they are not that great to relax due to the lack of bars with normal prices or even places where you can resist the waves, wind and airborne sand. Once you see handful of beaches and make that obligatory sunset photo, the beaches start to look the same. The sun is really aggressive so I found the best strategy is to find a palm tree or rock and hide in it's shade for most of the time. Transportation is a chapter on its own. There are places where one has to needlessly walk around a whole neighborhood to reach a beach or anything really. One can rent a buggy but I felt like what this island needs less is more tourists on buggies. Bikes aren't a great option due to the heat. Taxis are very expensive if used regularly and buses go sometimes in unforseen intervals and are unusable if you lack cash. Which happened to me and I found it absolutely impossible to withdraw cash on this island on Sunday, which is a shame for such a touristy place. Prices are soo high here for almost everything. 1.5l water bottle for 12 reais is not an exception in groceries. Restaurants overpriced, serving mediocre food. I recommend Tapiocaria de Archipelago which serves great food and drinks for decent prices. The preservation tax, which was 370 reais for 4 nights is high, but still understandable, is made worse by the 358 reais entry fee for the ever present national park. The latter was too much for me so we avoided entering it. If you go diving, I recommend Maravista or other agency that offers diving away from the park, because most do it inside and then you have to pay the enter fee anyway. All in all Fernando de Noronha is a place that's good to see at least once, but is overpriced and its services are lackluster.

Fantastic but way too expensive. With that money, one would think that the trash lying around would be to a minimum... In addition, some areas would benefit if they weren't accessible at all for anybody, no matter how much one can pay.

overpriced and overrated island, locals do not speak any english even though they thrive on tourism, no supermarkets to be found. make sure to check the sea condition before you arrive because if the sea is uneasy, you cant do any water activity and water activities are the core of this island. we spent a week there during the Swell and there wasn't much to do. on the positive note, its a beautiful place, most likely the most beautiful place i've ever seen in my life. the locals are nice and friendly if you manage to break the language barrier. once you land and get the park entry ticket, go ahead and book to several hikes. we took our time and only got to do one of them. book ahead because everyone wants to do it and you might miss out. dont worry if you regret, no penalty if you dont show up. after that you will need to contact Victor the guide because on most of the hikes you are required to go with a guide and he is the only one that speaks english. taxis are expensive, if you plan to stay there for several days it might be a better idea to rent a vehicle (bike/buggy). I wish someone would have told me all that before i arrived there, would have saved me so much precious time. the pic is of Sancho beach, they say its the best beach in the world. i dont know, it sure is pretty but you cant really enjoy it because of the hoards of tourists.

One of my favorite 3 places in all Brazil. Plan to go to Noronha, spend there 3/4 days, wake up early in the morning, visit the most gorgeous and most remote beaches you can fancy imagine, full your camera with beautiful picture, start again with this procedure!

Amazing place ! But when April starts, get ready to see A LOT of rain !!

Highly overpriced. There's a tax to be paid for every night you stay on the island (I discovered this only on my way out and had to pay 457 reals for five nights) and a price to pay for entry to the national park that is the island, on top of that. So you pay about 800 real just to be here. Then Everything else is overpriced. The place is beautiful but billions of mosquitoes. All in all, I would skip it.
