We booked two cabins four seven of us. Each had downstairs king bed and upstairs twins. One had an extra twin downstairs. Bathroom was roomy and both bath and pool towels were provided. One unit had an outdoor kitchen. Both had small indoor fridges and water boiler with instant coffee , tea, and sugar. Both units had outdoor porch, one with four chairs and a coffee table. |Given the differences in our two units, be specific about the details of the accommodation you desire. |There was a beautiful pool, unheated, so water was chilly in June. Restaurant on premises served only dinner, and only on Friday through Sunday. Must make reservations. |Reception desk is open only in mornings. When we arrived, despite clear and recent communications confirming our reservations and arrival time (evening), their promise to leave keys on desk, etc., no one had followed through with the keys and check in. In fact, they did not even have our reservations for the correct days. Fortunately, the restaurant chef tracked down the proprietors and we got it sorted. |We also made reservations through the reception desk for a Daintree River cruise. The desk told us where to meet the tour for pickup. That was wrong, so we missed our scheduled cruise. Fortunately, we were able to call tour company and reschedule. |The Turtle Rock Cafe, about a five minute walk from Ferntree has good food and drink and offers Great Barrier Reef snorkeling tours. |The Sandbar Restaurant, a short drive south, has good wood-fired pizza.||Also nearby is Myall Beach and a nice boardwalk tour of the forest. ||Always stay out of water! Salties are always a danger.
