If anyone tells you "so-and-so place has the BEST breakfast sandwich in Victoria" and they aren't talking about the Parsonage then that person is not actually your friend. The Mt. Royal bagel is made just a block away. It's the most affordable (good) breakfast sandwich you can buy within 100km. You can get it with bacon for just $0.50 more, and then you can get DOUBLE bacon for another $0.50. My camera roll is filled with pictures of this sandwich. I have had more fond memories with this sandwich than I have with some close relatives. I love this sandwich and you will too. Oh yes, and the staff are amazing, the ambience is pleasant, if it's busy and you can't find a spot wait a second and the universe will provide. Sit outside and you will see so many good dogs. The coffee is also incredible, without all the pretentiousness of certain other Vic coffee staples.

It was my first time trying out Maple Shay Shay, and it was good! The coffee was really nice, with great quality, and the overall vibe of the café was lovely. The only downside for me was that I wanted to get some work done, but there were no outlets available, so it’s not the best spot if you need to work for a while. Otherwise, a great place to relax and enjoy a good coffee!

Google
Never lets me down! Staff are friendly and patient, food is consistently good, drinks are great. I love the cheddar dill scone, the lemon bar, and the maple shay shay.

This place has always been a staple. Always knock the breakfast sandwiches out of the park. Any of their food really is fantastic. One of my top coffee spots. They do it all folks. And they deal with my indecisiveness with grace.

Google
This is my favourite coffee shop! For starters, it is my favourite coffee roast (we drink it at home). The food is always yummy with a great selection including scones, brownies, sausage rolls, sandwiches and soup that is always delicious. And the staff are always friendly. ❤️

Google
Beautiful space, would be nice for a coffee date. The iced oat latte was a little odd. For some reason it was extremely creamy. Nonetheless, I will be back to try this place out again!

Google
Amazing locally owned spot for coffee, treats, and lunch! The coffee always tastes fresh and the breakfast bagels are the stuff of local legends. Lunch times can be busy, lines are pretty common but usually there’s still seating. A dog bowl is outside for our furry friends but be mindful the cafe is *not* animal friendly. I love bringing out of towners here, never disappoints! The instant coffee is perfect for overnight hikes as well :)

Google
Best breakfast sandwiches ever! We have been going there for years, the coffee is great, the sandwiches and the cookies are great as well. The coffee shop is a good size, with a comfortable layout, and outdoor seating available. This is a popular neighbourhood spot, we always bring our out-of-town visitors for a breakfast bagel as a treat!

Yelp
Parsonage Cafe and Fernwood Coffee Company are quite similar and synonymous and honestly I have had great experiences here. I enjoy the variety of drinks that they serve here and the food is great, too! I am thankful that this cafe exists!!

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere, coffee, and people. I recommend the lox bagel and breakfast bagel with all the toppings cut in half.

Yelp
Every month or so I meet up with my fabulous friend for a catch up and some nice lunch. We always go to the Parsonage Cafe. Sometimes I get their breakfast bagel (how can a bagel with cheese and bacon with egg and tomato be so delicious?!), but I always get a flat white coffee. Today I went nuts and had their BLT sandwich with an egg and a cappuccino with skim milk. Their coffee is from the Fernwood Coffee Company). Both were delicious. There was a big line up - right out the door - and that is normal for this spot. It's extremely popular. So, we decided to order online and wait for a text to pick up our lunches around the back. It took me a while - kind of embarrassing tbh - I just couldn't get the site to accept my credit card. But it finally worked and then we were able to get on with the excitement of the sandwich (and my friend's blueberry muffin). My sandwich was absolutely delicious - I ordered it with no butter, and the bacon was from local butcher, Slater's. It came with arugula and the whole wheat bread was nicely toasted. I love that they serve these sandwiches with some chips - just enough to keep it interesting. Well done yet again, Parsonage. We'll be back next month!

Yelp
Went on a Sunday morning around 9am. Very busy so you can tell it's good! Coffee was really quality. I had the Africano and if you like coffee, you don't need any flavors, the coffee and a little cream is all you need. We ordered food to go and had to wait a bit since the kitchen was slammed as it's a popular brunch place but would definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
I find the Lox on Bagel very tasty but the casual furniture awkward. If you wish to eat, take a booth.

Yelp
A relaxing stop with excellent food and drinks anytime we need to unwind for an hour. The breakfast sandwiches are wonderful.

Yelp
They gave me a free macchiato, and hella Ya I love a macchiato!!!! The bagels are psycho. They need to be in the hospital rn, you feel me?

Yelp
The BEST bagel sandwiches I have ever had. Just perfect with egg&melted cheese. Nice place to chat with friends or just talk to people around. If in a hurry I just order ahead. Also, this is wonderful place with small kids Sinc the staff are great.

Yelp
This is a great little cafe just slightly off the beaten path. Home of their own roastery and kitchen and literally steps away from Mount Royal Bagel, you are guaranteed a fresh, delicious, made to order (for the most part) experience. I'm a huge fan of the breakfast bagel with bacon though I saw a girl eating a grilled sticky bun that makes me think I have many more delicious foods to try here in my future. The staff is friendly, no elitist coffee snobbery here, thank god! You can also pick up on-site roasted beans to take home if you'd like. So, all in all, good real food paired with great service and a damn fine americano is why I come back:)

Yelp
This here is a solid, true-blue, neighbourhood cafe. Bustling energy, cozy vibe, & most importantly, a decent espresso. Dig it.

Yelp
My wife "dragged" me here a few times and it quickly became a place I requested. Excellent coffee, perhaps even better breakfast bagels and today I discovered that their sandwiches (a veggie in my case but they all look great) are exceptional. Great ingredients combined into deliciousness. Oh, and the staff are super - friendly. :D

Yelp
This is a place for people who liked good coffee. The coffee is fresh and the service is excellent. I ordered two pour over coffees and told the barista what types of coffee I like. Despite not having a Kenyan coffee (which is what I requested) available at the counter, he went to the back (where they roast the coffee) and found what I had asked for. He then prepared two fresh cups for me. The coffee was good. Not the absolute best I have ever had, but it is much better than you could ever get at a large coffee chain. Give it a shot - you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Best breakfast bagel! We'd been meaning to visit for AGES and are so sad that we waited so long. The perfect Mount Royal Bagels plus perfect combo of egg, cheese, spinach, and bacon made the best best best breakfast sandwich. Bustling, comfortable, and home to Fernwood coffee, this spot is on my 'must visit' list for Victoria.

Yelp
This is easily my favourite place to be when out in Victoria. Very cool atmosphere, awesome staff that remember your name, best coffee in town, and amazing food (their breakfast sandwich is tops!). If I could find a fault with it, it might be that it's very "cozy", especially on weekend mornings. But I like to consider that as part of its charm.

Yelp
Really like the coffee here. Food is so good but since going off gluten I can't enjoy their amazing breakfast bagel :(

Elliot L.

Yelp
Nicely crafted food and bevs. A little high on the trendometer tho.

Yelp
I'm so so so glad I work and live right by here. The Americanos just make me happy and I really enjoy having a croissant sandwich when I'm feeling peckish. And the people that work here are rad. And the blueberry muffins are great. Thanks for making my neighbourhood more awesome.

Yelp
I love this place! It is small, funky and cool. All the things I like in a cafe. The food and coffee are great. The staff are awesome: hip and friendly. I have been coming to this cafe for over 20 years and have seen it go through several incarnations. Right now it is the best it has ever been. If anything it is suffering from its success. There is huge demand for the limited seating. Fortunately, this is such a friendly place people often share a booth. Great food, awesome coffee, funky atmosphere and you just might meet someone new as you share a table. Who could ask for more?
