The 19 Best Maui Restaurants for Poke, Homemade Desserts, and More | Condé Nast Traveler

"Ferraro's Bar e Ristorante, the Four Seasons Maui 's signature Italian restaurant, wows from the outset, thanks to hanging lamps, a perch above Wailea Beach, and live music wafting softly in the background. During sunset, the candlelit tables by the ocean are so impossibly picture-perfect you'll feel like you're starring in your own romantic comedy. The menu features big, bold salads (like the tomato and burrata), handmade pastas, and grilled meat and fish. Every dish is beautiful and delicate, but filling and never too precious." - Juliana Shallcross, Kris Fordham

Ferraro’s has one of the best dinner atmospheres I’ve experienced in Hawaii. The view at sunset is beautiful experience, oceanfront, cozy lighting, and an overall peaceful, upscale vibe. I went for both lunch and dinner, and the Seafood Cobb Salad at lunch was probably the best salad I’ve ever had. Super fresh & flavorful, paired with the view 10/10. For dinner, the drinks were amazing (piña coladas), and the pizza was good as well. I asked for a custom spicy vodka pasta with lobster and chicken, and while they tried to make it work, the sauce didn’t taste like spicy vodka at all just kind of flat. The sea bass and portion is small so I reccomend appetizers . The tiramisu was the best part of dinner. Light, creamy, and a perfect way to end the night. Go for the views, the drinks, and that lunch salad. Would still come back for the experience overall!

My husband and I are quick eaters and normally in-and-out in an hour. We spent almost two hours here. The view is stunning - we were facing the ocean and the sunset view is breathtaking. Food is also delicious, especially the bolognese. Our server was very friendly.

Our family came to this restaurant everyday while in Maui! The service, vibes, food, and drinks were exceptional and easily accessible at any time of the day. Shout out to Joseph, the server assistant, who was friendly and cheerful each time we saw him, always welcoming our family and creating fun conversations! We will be for sure back to this place next time we visit. Mahalo!

Steer clear of Ferraro’s if you're looking for an authentic and enjoyable Italian dining experience in Maui. Our recent visit was a stark disappointment from start to finish, particularly when compared to the truly wonderful Italian food and service we experienced at Olivine in the Grand Wailea. First, let's talk about the pasta. "Bland" is an understatement. It was utterly devoid of flavor, tasting like plain noodles with a sauce that lacked any depth, seasoning, or character. We were truly surprised that an Italian restaurant could serve something so uninspired. I’m not sure how a pasta with so much sauce could taste so bland. Presentation was great but actual taste was bland. The poor quality of the food was unfortunately compounded by the incredibly subpar service. Our server was inattentive and seemed disinterested in our table. We had to flag them down multiple times for basic requests, and there was a general lack of hospitality. If you're seeking delicious Italian food and excellent service in Maui, do yourself a favor and head to Olivine. Save your money and your appetite from the bland offerings and disappointing service at Ferratos.

Had a few great lunches here and one dinner. Lunch pizza and salads were great. For dinner, food was good and service was as expected at a Four Seasons which is to say excellent. A few dinner dishes were standout, such as the squid ink pasta and little gem salad with white anchovies. The house bread with seaweed butter and garlic was also very good. Other dishes, like the meatballs, were bland and forgettable. As far as dinner, I thought it was better than DUO but not as good as Spago.

Amazing cocktail (in the photo), good food, service is good enough. We had too many small flies flying around I am afraid, but I guess not really restaurant’s fault (since it’s at open space)

We had such a delightful dinner here, and it truly warmed our hearts! The specialty cocktails were outstanding and added a lovely touch to our experience. The service made us feel truly appreciated and cared for. The food was simply incredible! I can't stop thinking about the cavatelli with truffle—it was a memorable dish! While it is on the pricier side, the enchanting atmosphere at The Four Seasons hotel creates such a beautiful experience. This restaurant has definitely become one of our cherished must-visit spots while in Maui!

Google
Ferraro's was the highlight of our trip to Maui. We enjoyed some amazing food, in a wonderful setting in two separate lunch visits. Our waiter, Jack (i.e., John), was the best! He gets 100 points for his recommendations, providing excellent service, being attentive, and also great fun. Thank you! We will certainly be back!

Mikayla K.

Yelp
The service was amazing, the food was so tasty, and the view was just gorgeous. Overall one of the highlights of the trip, gotta try their pizza and pastas! Please note my pasta in the photo was a half portion, as I split with my friend.

Yelp
We were staying at the Four Seasons and were able to nab a dinner reservation on a Monday evening at 7:30. The only bummer was that the sun had already set. We had an awesome location in the seating area closest to the ocean view. Our service was excellent. Water glasses were refilled within minutes of them being emptied, the table was cleared off after each course was taken away, plates and cutlery were changed quickly, and our waiter was very attentive. We had the bruschetta with shrimp, the house bread loaf with sea salt, seaweed, and garlic confit butter, cavatappi with truffle pasta, rigatoni with ahi sausage, and the veal Milanese. My husband and I went back and forth about the veal. I figured it would be way too much food, but he really wanted some protein. Thankfully, each course was spaced out with enough time to enjoy the meal; nothing was rushed and I like that. Sometimes restaurants bring things out quickly or out of order, but our waiter made sure that didn't happen. The bruschetta was a welcome surprise. The shrimp was plump and flavorful. The house bread was a random last minute add on our end, and I'm glad we added this. We probably didn't need bruschetta AND the loaf of bread, but...vacay calories don't count! I loved that the bread was piping hot and soft. I was worried about the aftermath of garlic cloves, but since they were roasted to perfection, no garlic aftermath! My favorite of the pastas was the cavatappi. The rigatoni was spicy and creamy; my husband liked this dish better than the cavatappi. The final star of the show was the veal. Wow! What a large piece of meat! This can definitely be shared amongst an entire table. I was incredibly full by the time this course came out, but my husband had to push through and eat the protein he so desperately wanted. I had a tiny sliver and found it to be perfect. The bread coating was great and the veal very tender. The arugula side salad had the perfect olive oil and lemon dressing with shaved parmesan. That was a great surprise! Thanks for a great evening dinner, Ferraro's!

Yelp
crazy regardless the price I paid 420$ for dinner 4 glass of wine stake paste and appetizer. The size of the stick was ridiculous- 120$ The service was good They make sure you're like everything but not really if you don't like the food, most of the restaurant canceling or give you a different option this one wont do it for you :( I will not come back for this restaurant or recommend for friends just because it's extremely expensive for what you get. Value for money falls, not recommended.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and it took forever! The salad was tasty but I was still hungry and the bill was over $100 despite not having drinks! Yikes

Yelp
I'm beginning to garner a similar reception of all Wailea resort restaurants - absolutely beautiful setting, impeccable, welcoming service - but mediocre and overpriced food. Our bolognese ($41) and ahi tuna ($42) pastas were definitely on the salty side, though the housemade pasta was delightfully was delightfully tender with a slight chewiness. I love when they give amuse bouches (little cheese bread bites) too. Staff was very kind. Again, an absolutely incredible ambience with low-lit lamps providing a romantic lighting, and close to the waves.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to grab a drink mid-day or dinner with sunset view. Fell in love with their yummy foods, gorgeous view and amazing service. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
Ever since our first visit here, I fell in love with the view, the ambience, the food, the service. Everything is excellent. Whenever we have guests, we always take them here for a special meal. Never disappointed. Their calamari is the best starter. The seafood Cobb salad to share is perfect, my favorite!!! The burger was excellent. Pizza is always a good share dish. This place is pretty pricey, but all well worth it!

Yelp
Absolutely magical experience. One of the most memorable dinners my wife and I have had. This restaurant is tucked off to the north side of the Four Seasons, right off the beach trail. There are ocean views, depending on where you are seated. The entire restaurant is open air (I don't think they have an inside, but they do have a more covered section). Although this restaurant doesn't have the clearest view, the ambiance is still very nice and romantic. The food here was excellent. Every dish we ordered was great. Some dishes weren't particular inventive (e.g. the butter, truffle pasta), but were still done well. I would describe this food as more comforting than creative. Don't be scared to order a dish that sounds basic. For example, our waiter recommended to get the shrimp bruschetta and it was one of my favorite dishes that night. There was sufficient variety in the menu to satisfy our various diets. Even the kids menu was rather extensive (they have a "Classics" section for picky eaters that contains things like hot dogs). The waiter offered the kids custom smoothies, which they loved. Also the prices are reasonable compared to other resort restaurants. This wasn't my cheapest dinner on the island, but it also wasn't close to being the most expensive. Finally, I want to comment on the service and staff. This was the best service I have received anywhere on the island. Our waiter (sorry, forgot his name) was everything we could have asked for: welcoming, friendly, helpful, and timely. Often at high-end restaurants the staff can sometimes come across as cold or stiff, but that is not the case at all here. This night would not have been as special if it wasn't for our wonderful waiter. Thank you so much for making this such a happy night for us. If you are a Four Seasons manager reading this, I want to thank you for providing such a perfect night for us. All the staff I met at the Four Seasons have been so friendly and helpful. Shout out to our wonderful waiter and the lady in the main lobby who kindly showed me around and took pictures of the family.

Yelp
This was our second visit back to the restaurant during our stay in Wailea this year (we usually go once a year). This was supposed to be a consolation reservation from the manager based in the fact that we had to leave the first reservation. Unfortunately we experienced the same frustrations: having to wait for no reason whatsoever to be seated when the table was ready and being seated at a less than desirable location even though there clearly were tables open by the water. After some convincing with the manager on duty we ultimately got seated there. Not sure what's going on and why they are treating people this way. Not a good start to what is an expensive dinner on Maui. But, our waiter Nick did an amazing job and was very friendly. Food however was mediocre at best. Sad to say we won't do this again next year.

Yelp
This fine dining is located at the Four Seasons Resort and available to outside guests. Valet is available and probably the most convenient thing to do for parking. My husband and I forgot to make a reservation but we wanted to celebrate our anniversary dinner at Ferraro's so we got there around 6pm. We did accidentally end up at Duo's at first but to avoid our mistake, just make sure to go downstairs and walk further past the pool to the blue roof cabana. We checked in with the hostess and asked if they had any seating available overlooking the Oceanside since we saw a lot of empty tables. She was a bit aggressive with her delivery and told us they're booked for the whole evening and best they could do was only the sofa seating or we could take our chances with the first come first serve bar seating. We decided to go with the sofa seating. She was much nicer once she seated us (I imagine her aggressive delivery was due to the daily grind of working with tourists). The sofa seating was actually really nice and comfy, we had a great view of the pool and palm trees and sky. Our server was Gerry and he was awesome! We started with the coco-crush cocktail and it had a very unique creamy coconut flavor, so refreshing and good! For an appetizer, we got the polpette which was meatballs and bread. It was super flavorful and yummy. We also got complimentary cheese puffs. There were just okay, I thought the cheese would be creamy but it was very dry. But that's okay, they were free. For my entree, I got the Cavatelli al tartufo which was a black truffle cream pasta. It was fantastic and the truffle profile was perfect to me, not too underwhelming and not too overpowering! One of the best pasta dishes I've had so far, the first best being in New York. My husband got the tagliatelle alla bolognese, it was also pretty good but I really loved the truffle pasta with the al dente pasta. We were too full for dessert but they did provide fresh biscotti with the check. Very fancy bathrooms are available too just nearby around the corner. Would love to come back to eat here, will definitely have to make sure I do a reservation in the future next time.

Luffy ..

Yelp
Had to be the worst $500 I have ever spent. Everything I ordered could have been made better at home... My family got the Wagyu, Lamb, 3 pastas including the Squid Ink lobster, bolognese, and the truffle butter pasta. Pretty much everything our waiter recommended. The lamb was super fire, but everything else was super disappointing, and didn't even get finished. The four seasons hotel was pretty cool to be around tho, but definitely should have chose spago.

Yelp
Been back multiple times for a snack since that years ago review. Mai Tais always delicious. Or Parmasan French fries. We saw whales from our table yesterday. Not sure what else you need in life.

Yelp
Would say this was a true 3.5. Starting off with the good- the location in the 4 seasons is beautiful and the food was delicious! We came for our anniversary and opted for the tasting menu. Some standouts were the cavatelli pasta and wagyu which were both out of this world. The Cacio e Pepe polenta was also unique and delicious - would not skip this one! The tiramisu was well done with beautiful presentation and great decadence. A few things we didn't like were the meatballs (too dry) and the carrots (just basic). We couldn't seem to find a drink we loved on the menu after trying 4 of them - the best of the bunch was the pasta water martini which tasted like a well done but basic dirty martini with some amazing olives added in. Pro tip: they make a few different types of pizza if you ask (off menu item). The staff is absolutely phenomenal- our server Kate was so kind, helpful, and attentive! Now for the things that were less stellar. The pace of the dinner was so slow. We found ourselves waiting for long stretches between courses which really took away from the experience. The seating is also mostly outdoor with some roof covering the bar area so we were constantly seeing little bugs flying around and two crawling on the table. Not their fault but it's not appealing whilst you are trying to enjoy your dinner. Also, it was so dark! Probably beautiful during the day with the ocean view but late at night, it feels like you are sitting outside with little to no light. Overall the food was good but the exorbitant price tag and overall experience was slightly disappointing.

Yelp
This place hasn't really improved. Kindness from the servers is hit or miss. I find the male servers to be low key aggressive and rude. I was told I could order menu items such as the veggie wrap, chips salsa/guacamole from the 4 seasons poolside menu. In my opinion the offerings at Ferraro are lacking for lunch. Lunchtime menu needs to feature lighter salads, veggie forward entrees highlighting the amazing produce of the Maui area. Not everyone wants to eat a hot pizza or heavy noodle dish in the summer for lunch. We have never returned for dinner - see my previous review from 4 years ago. You are a poolside restaurant, be chill, be kind. This place is struggling. They have the view and that's it. I said what I said.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed their MARGHERITA PIZZA !! The crust was cooked perfectly and the toppings are fresh. We added grilled shrimp on top for a Hawaiian twist and it was super delicious. Excellent Service delivered by Danielle too! Our son wanted regular spaghetti with meat sauce and she made it happen for him. Thank you for going the Extra Mile!

Yelp
This our favorite lunch spot. The views are amazing, service very friendly and the salads and pizzas and everything on the menu is delicious. I recommend the seafood Cobb salad, the prosciutto and kale pizza (the kale comes out crispy). We also enjoyed dinner one time during our stay last year and I missed to leave a review! The ambiance at dinner is lovely, and the food as amazing as their lunch. Can't forget the beautiful and delicious umbrella drinks! Thanks chef and amazing staff at Ferraro's!

Yelp
We really enjoyed this restaurant! The pasta dishes were phenomenal. We got to watch the sunset and enjoyed a nice, long dinner for the last night of our honeymoon. The waitress was happy to answer all of our questions, and our food was really great. Some of the things on the menu seemed to have a random ingredient in it that turned me off, but I'm glad I ended up choosing the cavatelli-- it was perfect. A great spot if you're staying at the Four Seasons or one of the neighboring resorts!

Yelp
Great oceanfront restaurant in Wailea at the Four Seasons Resort. Service was excellent. Recently updated with new tables, chairs and decorations. The pizza, calamari appetizer, burger and the seafood Cobb salad were all top notch. Can use the valet parking at the Four Seasons for free. Just tip the valets.

Yelp
Jack was a phenomenal server. Enjoyed this gorgeous blended mai tai served in a pineapple! We drove across the island for this and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
Ambiance: My wife and I decided to go here for an early Valentine's Day dinner to avoid the rush on the 14th. We booked a few weeks in advance. Strongly recommend making reservations on Open table. The restaurant is located at the Four Seasons resort in Wailea. After dropping off our car at the valet stand, we were directed downstairs to the pool level. The hostess promptly pulled up our reservation, asked us if we were guests of the resort, asked if we had any allergies and finally...if we wanted to sit in the sun or the shade. I told her whichever is the best view. This table was the closest to the ocean and got a lot of sun around 5:15-6:00. Once the sun started going down though, it was the best seat in the house. Bring sunglasses. When the sun went completely down, they lowered the large cloth umbrellas. This was nice because it gives you a view of the stars and moon...but the process by which they lower it is like nails on a chalkboard. They use a handheld power screwdriver to turn some type of a crank that slowly lowers the arms of umbrella. It is a pretty loud noise and lasts for about a minute for each umbrella. I think there were 3. One of the staff apologized for the noise. I wasn't complaining but I think they know it's a bothersome sound. Food & Drink: They brought out ice water after asking if we wanted bottled water or sparkling water. Ice water was fine by us. They then brought a small bowl of two miniature biscuits of some sort. Not the most flavorful, but complimentary. We decided to try the "Super Tuscan" red wine which was very good. For starters we tried the bread with the garlic butter and the calamari. The bread is a must. It's super soft in the middle and crusty on the outside. The garlic butter has visible cloves of roasted garlic that just spread like butter. Surprisingly not as overpowering as I was fearing. Very subtle. The calamari portion was massive for the two of us. You could easily split the appetizer with 4-6 people. It comes with two dipping sauces. We liked the one that was more like a marinara. They were crispy and flavorful...not the best I've ever had but still solid. Entrees my wife ordered the spaghetti with clams and I ordered the squid ink pasta with Kona lobster and crema Rosa sauce. The spaghetti was good, as expected. That's always a great choice at any Italian restaurant. Rarely disappoints. It came with a generous portion of clams. The sauce was a little acidic but not too overpowering. Just the right amount of pasta not too much. The squid ink pasta is made with squid ink and the noodles are black. The sauce does not contain squid ink. It's a crema rosa sauce...kind of like vodka sauce. There were several chunks of Kona lobster. My wife said it was a little salty. I didn't notice it as much as her. The Kona lobster was good but one or two bites had some shell in them still. No big deal, though. The dish is topped with fresh basil which is a nice touch. Lot of flavors going on. We decided to try the tiramisu for dessert. It had a creamy sauce over the top dusted with cocoa powder. The runner lifted up a ring around the dish to make the sauce and powder waterfall over the dessert. Nice touch! This dish was very good. One of the better tiramisu I have had. Didn't have the overpowering alcohol flavor you sometimes get with tiramisu. Complimentary biscotti were also provided. These were better than the complimentary mini biscuits at the beginning. Overall, the food was very good. Not to die for...but very good and well presented. I would come back to try some of their other dishes. Service: The hostess was very prompt at pulling up our reservation and doing the best she could to accommodate us, as was her assistant who walked us to our table. Our server was friendly but seemed a little pushy and rushed. I didn't see how many tables he was covering. It may have been a lot. The bussers were very prompt at refilling water and taking away plates. They also were happy to take your picture during sunset or get anything you were missing. Our busser offered to take our picture on 2 separate occasions (during and just after sunset). Very kind fellow. I give their bus staff an A plus! We received multiple friendly thank yous and goodbyes from several staff members at or just outside the hostess stand when leaving. Valet parking staff were also very friendly and fast. Price: This place isn't cheap. I'd put the prices up there with many of the restaurants that sport an amazing location and very good food. For a dinner for two with wine, appetizer, entrees and dessert, we came in at around $275. Add a tip to that, plus whatever you choose to tip the valet staff if you used them...you can easily get to a final bill of $350-400. It was a special occasion, though, so I was happy to treat my beautiful wife to this wonderful experience. We will be back again for sure!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Wailea! If it's the view, food and service you are looking for, you must make Rezs soon. They book quickly and it's worth the wait if you can't get in right away. Try it for lunch and you'll be happy no reservations needed. We had a delicious strawberry and goat cheese salad all farm to table fresh produce. Our server Jane was incredible and took care of our special requests. My husband had the fresh sea bass and I had grilled shrimp w- a side of fresh made pasta. So delicious! Dessert was of course a descendant piece of tiramisu and topped that off with a great glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from Frank Family. Happy eating and if you sit at the bar, say hi to Joe G. He is a great bartender and will fill your cocktail with a delicious blend you are craving. Happy Eating and tip your server generously. Enjoy!

Yelp
I wasn't able to make a reservation here so we showed up for dinner around 5:30 and they were able to accommodate our group of 3. It did get crowded later on though so definitely get a reservation if you're going during peak dinner time. The food is definitely pricier but you get ocean views and amazing service. I got the cacio e Pepe, which was nearly $40 but so tasty and the perfect classic cacio e Pepe. The portion size was decently large and definitely filling for one person. Another highlight was the catch of the day, which happened to be swordfish. It was so flavorful and tender and came served on a layer of corn with pesto. Overall, this is a great option if you're at the Four Seasons and in the mood for Italian food and ocean views.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant about keeping our reservations here after some of the other reviews I've seen, but I really don't understand. My husband and I originally had 7:30 p.m. reservations, but after messaging the restaurant, I was promptly able to get reservations for 8:15, which worked great for us. Since we came at night we couldn't really see much of the view, but it is a nice outdoor location by the pool at the Four Seasons. My husband and I started with a guava lemonade and a virgin mango mule, both of which were delicious. They gave us a small dish of olive tapenade, which was a great start to our evening. We then ordered the Bruschetta di Gamberetti, al forno "puccia" pane and the Caponata di melanzane. The first two were absolutely delicious, and while the eggplant caponata was good, it leaned a bit on the sweeter side, so it wasn't our favorite, but still good. We shared the cavatelli al tartufo for our main, and they kindly split it into two portions for us. Neither of us was able to finish off the pasta after the appetizers, but the flavor was amazing. Unfortunately, we were too full to even try the dessert, but they gave us some cranberry biscotti that I happily devoured. Both my husband and I agree that this was hands down the best meal we have had our entire time on island, and we are so happy we came here!

Yelp
Ambiance and service was top tier! Server was very informative with the menu and had ALOT of reccomendation! Everything tasted fresh and yummy! We ordered a lot of apps and different pasta and enjoyed it all.

Yelp
The food and ambiance are wonderful. The sunsets are great. The crudos are the best in the island.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! excellent choice my hubby made to celebrate our June anniversary. food was excellent. he had the Ahi Tuna steak seared and i had the kona lobster with squid ink pasta. Wow! so excited that i forgot to take a photo! we also ordered the bruschetta with prawns, which was a winner! gotta have it. see photo after we ate half of it. and we topped it off with Tiramisu dessert. another wow! our wait help Gerry gave great service too. as it was an anniversary dinner we were placed closest to the ocean, listening to piped in music but also the ocean waves. great setting. Be prepared for a large bill but you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
One of the finest restaurant experiences we've ever had..... The food was exquisite, and the staff was just wonderful. With a special call out to our server Kyle who was one of the best of the best. The restaurant experiences we had in Maui (with one exception) kept getting better and better -- culminating here at Ferraro's. Beautiful space, delicious food and wonderful people.

Yelp
It was nice of my daughter to Bless me with an early October Birthday gift vacation. She made a reservation at this Four seasons Hotel for lunch. First impressions was the people greeting Our family with a warm welcome . After being seated. All the line of service with the waitress name Alicia was excellent . She comes out as often with a smile and make sure we all well taking care of. I would give her more than 5 Stars if I could. Food was good and fast. Will definitely return for next year trip.

Yelp
This is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant. We did the tasting menu which was a really great value. All of the staff were attentive and took the time to have personal conversations with us. Not pictured because it was eaten so fast... but the bread lives up to the hype!

Yelp
We had Ferraros for lunch to switch up from eating pool menu food. We called and ordered a meat lovers pizza and a margarita pizza for pick up. The pizzas were so good and cheese pully , omg so cheesy. The crust was crunchy as well! Idk why yelp didnt let me upload the pics but the pizzas were delicious.

Yelp
The food, Service and Ambiance was excellent at Ferraro's. Simply the Best! Starting with Abear who was very pleasant when we arrived at the Restaurant, then Chris the Restaurant GM who reserved us a beautiful ocean front table and Lastly, Ben who was the Hotel GM that was happy we had a great experience for my wife's birthday that consisted of a four course dinner with champagne and told us to meet him on our next visit. We will definitely be back again and again!

Yelp
Really enjoyed Ferraro's. The view is incredible (try and get a spot in the back). We did the FESTA DA FERRARO'S and it was great. Crudo, Squid Ink and Wagyu were a few of my favorites. Incredible service as well.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, food, and service. Everything on the menu sounds amazing. Had a hard time deciding what to choose!

Yelp
This review has been a long time coming, and I've been kicking myself for not writing it sooner. Everything about my dining experience here was 10/10, from the service, to the ambiance, and of course, the delicious food. First off, yes - it's the Four Seasons so obviously you're expecting an amazing meal. However, Ferraro's really takes it up a notch. My partner and I had been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while, but sadly our trip was booked fairly last minute and we couldn't find reservations so we figured we'd wait and try again on our next trip. My partner had surprised me with a couples massage at the Four Seasons for our last night on Maui, as I was starting law school shortly after we got back to CA. When we finished our massages, we thought we'd just pop in and see if there were any last minute cancellations that would allow us to sit down for a meal here. Wow, I'm so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the hostess kindly told us that her favorite "trick" is to ask to sit at the bar when we don't have reservations. This is because the bar doesn't fill up as they don't do reservations for it, and they still do full service at the bar. So we did as she said and next thing we know, we're eating some of the best Italian food I've ever had! I'm so sad I didn't get pictures of the appetizer, but we ordered the bruschetta and the heart of palm ceviche. I'm a sucker for bruschetta and must order it everywhere I go, and this one gets a 10/10 in my book. The "ceviche" was unlike anything we had ever eaten, and I'm not kidding when I say that not one thing was left on either plate! For dinner, I ordered the arrabiata (which they made entirely vegan for me!) and it was so delicious and somehow creamy? I don't know what they're doing back there, but man.. they can cook. It was probably the best arrabiata I've ever had. My partner got the italian sausage pasta and was very happy with it. For dessert, I got the chocolate hazelnut tartufo. 11/10. I have never had anything quite like it. It was such a treat to eat and it's all about full indulgence. I really loved it. My partner had another dessert that I can't remember the name of, but it was more fresh and fruity and tasted delicious. All in all, this was a dining experience I will never forget! Pair the incredible food with the ambiance of a beach front sunset, mai tais, and fun servers, the verdict is in: this place is phenomenal!

Yelp
The food quality was simply phenomenal and the exquisite combination of ingredients were a real joy to get to consume~!! The bolognese pasta was jaw-droppingly scrumptious and highly recommended. The calamari was very carefully conceived and a masterpiece of flavors. Another great choice. The virgin mojito was mostly crushed ice but really an interesting experience with the blueberries. Our waiter was so cool and we really enjoyed getting to chat with him on his frequent but not incessant visits to our table. Valet parking was complimentary within the Four Seasons Resort at Wailea. (Of course we tipped!)

Yelp
Much better than the last time we were here, I think they might have a new chef we heard? Love that the menu is more seafood focused now. We had a great view at dinner and excellent service. DRINKS 1. Cinque terre - LOVED. 2. Orange creamsicle - interesting aftertaste that we didn't enjoy. Bitters almost? Seemed odd for the sweetness of the drink APPETIZER 1. Calamari - I had actually planned on ordering the mussels listed on their online menu but they were not on the menu offered by the restaurant. Instead he waiter recommended the calamari and he was spot on. I've never had calamari this good in my life. Not over breaded, not chewy, tasty dipping sauces. 2. bread - not complimentary which is a bummer but well worth the $11. fresh, warm, soft with a yunmy garlic butter on the side FOOD 1. we started with splitting 2 pasta dishes - unfortunately the squid ink pasta was kind of a let down. felt like the sauce should have more flavor. hence why I took a star off. The crab ravioli was goof though 2. we also shared the sea bass entree. VERY good. cooked to perfection. Wish it would have had a light sauce with it. all in all, great experience!

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar at Ferrario's outside. We started with a glass of Chardonnay and the Trader Vic's Mai Tai. I highly recommend. Not too sweet and the crushed ice was just the right touch. We ordered the Fig & Prosciutto pizza. The crust was perfect and thin layered pizza. I can't remember the cheese but it complimented the taste of the fig & prosciutto. Our bartender was Ryan and he was very friendly and helpful as he recommended the pizza. Thank you Ryan!

Yelp
Just not my thing. When I have to spend 30 minutes or more deciphering what the heck the dish is that is being described on the menu, it's just not for me. Nothing that we ordered was normal. Everything had some weird ingredients. Everything was way overpriced. I would not recommend this place nor would I ever go back.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience while honeymooning in Wailea in 2020, so we were excited to go back on our most recent trip. We came with 2 young kids and 3 adults at 5pm. The place was empty and they sat us in a table that was right in the sun at probably the worst table in the restaurant. We ordered cocktails and the shrimp appetizer- all were great! The entrees were so bad they weren't even edible. The squid ink lobster pasta and spaghetti and clams were SO salty and drenched in chili flavor. The seafood portions were tiny and you couldn't taste the seafood due to the sauce. All 3 of us were disappointed in our main entrees. It was night and day difference from our experience 4 years ago.

Yelp
Excellent experience, and super accommodating to vegans! I had booked my reservation online in advanced because I love Italian food but as vegans it can be hard to find accommodating places. When I booked, I noted we were vegan and I had a nut allergy. When we checked in, the woman at the front asked me how severe my nut allergy was. This always makes me a little nervous when people ask things like this- I mean I'm anaphylactic so I guess pretty serious? Lol. But this concern was wiped away when we were seated and our waitress noted my allergy immediately and assured me they not only had lots of vegan options but were aware of my allergy and working diligently to separate any potential cross contamination for my meal. I didn't even prompt this, she just offered it as she first arrived. I've been to a lot of places everywhere, but Maui specifically, and always add my allergy. No where has ever acknowledged it (as if they've actually read my booking) except this place. I was really impressed by that. The waitress went through the numerous options they could make for us. All the food was so delicious, and the bread! Holy cannoli. The bread was so good we got it as an appetizer and then ordered another one with our dinner. The roasted garlic was a great addition. My mouth is watering just remembering the bread! It was this great texture of like almost doughy but in the best way possible- not over cooked and dry but not under at all. It was melt in your mouth!

Yelp
Excellent service, the setting was beautiful. My wife had sea bass which was dry and average. I had pasta with bolognese, which was quite good.

Yelp
Good was good! But I made a reservation for a table with a view and was seated by a door with a they are extinguisher hanging on it! Absolutely no view! And there were tables available with the view! so the food was probably better than good but was very disappointed so things didn't taste that great! Plus, they made no effort to see us somewhere else! No Bueno!! we will not go back!

Yelp
This restaurant is like a hot girl without any personality! The view and service are amazing but then we get to the food and prices and are totally turned off. There portions are measly! What Italian do you know serves portions like this????! What happened to abbondanza??? The breaads and butter are charged for which was really good a long time ago. We came back a few months ago and it was dry and not worth the money. The bar tender did not flinch or offer another at comp when we said this. He said juustsst order another one??? Is that your restaurant etiquette?? Honestly the food at South Maui Gardens is much better and way cheaper! Spend money there and enjoy a beautiful garden setting!

Yelp
The view is definitely worth going. It's good Italian food but definitely not the best. Pasta was al dente so kudis to that. Kampachi is a must, panzanella was lack luster. But the tiramisu was delicious.

Yelp
Perfect place to stop and get a smoothie after a spa treatment. I had the mango madness and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and was very fresh. It was very refreshing and presented nicely. Sat at the bar and enjoyed talking with other people at the counter top.

Yelp
This might be my favorite spot in the whole world. The prix fixe menu was amazing! This was my second visit, and the sunset view is perfect. The service was five-star. The kids loved the menu, especially the mahi mahi option. There was more food than expected in a prix fixe, plus dessert. They made fun drinks to order. The Bolognese is delicious, and you can't go wrong with the appetizers or the hamachi.

Yelp
Perfect ocean front restaurant.. what not to like in Hawaii. Restaurant staff was excellent, friendly and professional. It was hard to choose from the menu, everything looked delicious. It's great when a large party orders different things, you get to try it all. We had a surprise birthday party they couldn't have done better .. flowers, decorations, ambiance. Excellent experience, already miss it.

Yelp
Came here years ago (February 2020) without a reservation and they almost couldn't accommodate us except for at the bar. Totally fine and Andrew took great care of us! Enjoyed delicious bread and pastas for our main followed by being coaxed into dessert (ok that wasn't too difficult to do!)

Yelp
The bread w garlic butter is an absolute must to start your meal. We had the truffle pasta and lobster/caviar pizza. Absolutely delicious! Service is always great and the view is gorgeous.
