Food was great! Seasoned well and the slid was fresh. They gave me a cake and candle for my birthday, too cute!! Service was amazing. Our hostess was polite and friendly and she checked in on us often. Atmosphere was great, we went at lunch time and no one else was there! Two females came after but the music was good and the place was very clean. Definitely going again! Thank you!!

The food was awesome, my first time there. I finally found an Italian place that I like and enjoy in Thornhill! Everything given was delicious. Small little place but cozy :) A place to try and check out promise won't be disappointed. I think k they taste way better than Scaddabush! Also don't need to go to Vaughan for some Italian food! Seems like this place is an authentic Italian place !! Yum, yum.. coming back for some more, that's for sure !! Must try place ! The waiter and waitress are very kind! The food purchased was Seafood Linguine and Rigatoni Sausage as well as grilled calamari and free bread given!

I discovered this cozy restaurant on Google, which had excellent ratings, and I expected a fantastic dining experience. However, I was disappointed to find that all three dishes we ordered were overly salty. The seafood linguine, in particular, was a letdown. The pizza was alright, but nothing special. Overall, I would not return because the food was a huge disappointment.

We came here for my wife's birthday party on a Saturday. We booked it 2 weeks in advance and they had no problem for our group of 14. The service was great, very friendly and I will have to also say SUPER understanding, when two of our group members were late. The food was DELICIOUS, not one person in the group that was not happy with their dish. Four ordered the lamb shank and the only thing left on the plate was the bones. The beef short rib ravioli was also very good. The veal with the side risotto, very tasty. Going back to why the server was so understanding, it seemed that they put a rush on the late comers' order, was out in about 10 minutes. It was a resounding 'Yes', if we should come back for another time.

Jan 12, 2025: 2nd visit 4/5 stars In our 2nd visit, we tried the chef’s special of Lobster Tail Risotto and Penne with Beef, Caramelized Onions and Asparagus. Both were delicious. The risotto was good and the lobster tail was cooked perfectly. The beef in the penne was soft and savoury and complimented well with the caramelized onions and asparagus. The Baby Kale Salad was refreshing and good. The Rigatoni Sausage was okay. The rigatoni and sausage were good but something was missing. The Amante Della Carne Pizza which has a combo of pepperoni, pancetta, prosciutto, soppressata, green chilli and spicy honey sauce was okay. This pizza was a bit on the salty side with variety of cured / deli meats. We also couldn’t taste much of that spicy honey sauce. The Banana Pudding was okay. It definitely was missing something to it. The Tiramisu was awesome. Would definitely recommend. — Dec 29, 2024: 1st visit 5/5 stars The food and service at Ferrovia Ristorante was awesome! We tried the chef’s specials and both main dishes were delicious and savoury. The Arctic Char was awesome. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was soft, moist and savoury. The veggies (Brussel sprouts and green beans) were crisp and delicious. The potato was soft and delicious. The Rib Steak (14 oz) was good. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare for us. The steak was moist, tender and savoury. The mash potatoes were filled with buttery goodness and flavour. The asparagus was good and crispy. The Baby Kale Salad was good. It was a good and refreshing salad that had cranberries which provided the slightly tart sweetness and pine nuts which added texture. The honey citrus dressing added in that sweet citrus flavour to make a good Baby Kale Salad. The Tiramisu was awesome. It was creamy but light and not too sweet. They make a real good Tiramisu dessert here :) Would definitely recommend.

Thornhill’s iconic neighbourhood hidden gem, still going strong after 3 plus decades! With my foodie brother-in-law as company. Tonight, I paid this time-honored, local Italian Trattoria favorite, a long overdue revisit. We were surprised to notice some well-loved house specialties are still present in the current menu after all these years! These included the nicely charred, ‘packed with appealing wok-hay aroma‘ grilled Calamari with Olives and Cherry Tomatoes, the fork tender, gorgeously caramelized, deeply flavorful braised Lamb Shank and a seldom found ‘Banana Bread Pudding‘ dessert. Churning out masterfully prepared offerings that feature mesmerizingly delicious taste profiles, the skilled and deep-rooted kitchen team did not miss a beat in their execution! Extra dishes like the Steamed Mussels with olives and spicy tomato sauce, and a perfectly pink, Roasted Rack of Lamb with butter tossed Gnocchi were added to augment the main core dishes. These additions were also superbly presented and delightfully delicious. Furthermore, we received unparalleled and exemplary service from our super friendly, professional and attentive lady server - Zoey, which rounded up a near perfect dining experience Overall, a nice, cozy and intimate venue featuring some well prepared, tasty and casual fare served by amiable staff! Perfect total package for a relaxing night-out with good company!

Ferrovia restaurant offers an intimate dining experience in a very small setting, which adds to its charm. The servers are extremely friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you step in. Their warm hospitality enhances the overall atmosphere, creating a welcoming environment that invites you to relax and enjoy your meal. The pasta was truly amazing, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. However, the lamb did not quite live up to the hype; it fell short of the expectations set by its reviews' reputation. Fortunately, the rest of the menu features options that cater to a variety of taste buds, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Ferrovia seems like a delightful spot, and I look forward to trying more dishes in the future.

First time dining in at this restaurant. They have a nice patio and the setting was very cozy inside the restaurant. Lots of great Italian food choices. We were very well taken care of. Our servers were excellent! The prices were reasonable and the food portions were very generous. The food here was absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Antipasto Platter and Sautéed Black Tiger Shrimps, Herb Crusted Rack Of Lamb and Seafood Linguine. I highly recommend this restaurant!
