Wonderful pub with a great atmosphere, perfect for stopping by in the evening after a day of activities. I came here after a walk around the Helford Estuary with my family, the pub was busy and had a good atmosphere and we sat outside with some drinks and then ordered food. The food was all really good and tasty and service was prompt despite it being a busy day. The view from sitting outside is beautiful and really relaxing to be able to gaze out across the water at the boats.

Tucked away right on the riverbank, The Ferry Boat Inn is a hidden gem you can’t reach by car – and that’s part of the charm. Arriving feels like stepping into a slower pace of life, with boats moored nearby and plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the view. Inside, there’s a spacious dining area plus a separate room with a pool table for a more casual vibe. We ordered fish and chips and a cheeseburger – both generous in portion and spot-on in flavour. At around £19 per main, it’s not the cheapest, but the quality makes it worth it. They also offer a selection of specials if you fancy something different. A relaxed riverside pub with hearty food, great views, and a setting that feels like an escape.

Fabulous pub located on the Helford River. Small menu but there is a specials board offering good food with generous portions. There is a car park if you prefer not to walk there along the southwest coastal path.

Friendly helpful staff. We didn’t have a reservation but a table was cleaned & made available for us. We both ordered the specials. The crispy fish tacos were good, but to be great - the pineapple salsa needed a little sweetness and more of it. The steak sandwich was tasty - steak cooked to perfection. Would recommend. Note: barking dogs and people noise level is high!!

A nice pub. Plenty of tables. Good service. Nice food. Good for walkers along the coast. Parking is at the top of the hill ( 5 minutes steep walk) £3 per day or part of.

This pub is always extremely busy, which says a lot about it. If the weather is good get a table outside for beautiful views of Helford Passage, you might have to wait a while, but people are always coming and going. Fish and Chips are really good as are the burgers and the Mackerel pate is very tasty. Range of beers are excellent and service really quick. Definitely a favourite pub for us! A little bit pricey, but everything goes up in price and if your sailing into Helford it's not going to be a problem, though I'm a land lubber and can't afford to eat here every night, which is a shame😂

Fantastic food! Best battered fish ive had in a long time! Generous portions, reasonable prices, and of course the beautiful view of the river and hills! Recommend the fish finger sandwich! Very quick service too! (The inn is very dog friendly, beach is dog prohibited april-sept but saw plenty jumping in the river for a swim!)

A great pub. We sat on a bench outside overlooking the beautiful Helford river. Stunning. Took passenger ferry across the river to Helford. Walked up the road to Trebah Gardens. A wonderful day.

Yelp
What a lovely pub located right on the Helford Passage. The owners and staff were very friendly. The decor was super cute. The food is also very good, with focus on fish mainly. I ordered their fish n chips, my father ordered a seafood linguine. Both were excellent. A gem of a pub!

Yelp
Wonderful setting down on the helford river. Large outdoor seating area where you can watch the little boats bobbing along. The pub gets quite busy though, so if you want lunch or dinner book in advance if you can (having said that we had no trouble getting a seat this time round!). I had a wonderful linguine pasta dish with garden peas and broccoli, but there were plenty of traditional pub dishes such as ham egg and chips, fish and chips, burgers etc. also quite a lot of fish specials. Desserts looked good, but we opted for icecream round the corner. There is a kids menu too. For parking use the car park at the top ad walk down it's only £1

Yelp
I am very fond of the Ferry Boat for nostalgic reasons. I hung out here as a teenager and later when home from college. Those were the days of the juke box playing Procul Harum, no food served apart from a packet of nuts or crisps, and occasionally a folk night. Forward fifty years and it is still one of my favorite places to go when I visit the old homestead. It has evolved into a restaurant with rugs on the floor instead of gritty sand, a separate area to play pool, and a very interesting menu with lots of choices for families or those out for a delicious dinner. I still wish that they had pasties for purchase at lunchtime, as I am sure many people would like to take one to eat at the beach before they buy their Roskilly's from the kiosk. However, it has become less snooty the last couple of years, and we can't beat their fish and chips over other local pubs. The Red Lion and Pandora are distant runners up to the Ferry Boat. The portion is huge and I love their minty peas, when I usually find mushy peas quite disgusting. The car park up top is free after October 1st, or at least, I don't pay then! The Helford Passage is a beautiful spot, and a walk along the beach or road at sunset is calm and peaceful. Sometimes it makes me wonder why I live elsewhere now.

Yelp
Good place to eat yummy food, for us locals its the last leg of what we used to call 'the triangle' starting at port navas, you only do this on a boat from port navas to the shipwrights then ferry boat good fun in them days Dunno if people still do it though!
