By the numbers: Light festivals around the world - SilverKris
"An annual citywide light festival established in 2005 that turns Berlin into an open-air gallery, projecting artworks across roughly 100,000 m² and spanning around a hundred sites so that many of the city’s key monuments are washed in creative light installations." - Mia Chenyze
Chanced upon the 2025 festival of lights by accident whilst in Berlin for a couple of days. Monuments and buildings lit up by amazing light displays from 7pm. Wished we were here longer to see more but very impressed with the ones we did see.
Definitely worth a visit and it’s free.

Really well put together show, the lights were lovely and vibrant and there was lots of places for food and the street performers were also very good. We went on the Friday and then again Monday, I would highly recommend going :)

Beautiful light installations all over the city — free to enjoy and spread across many locations, creating a lovely atmosphere everywhere you go.

I'm in Berlin during this time and we didn't even know about the festival at first! A guy from the hotel told us that we should check it out.
It's SO beautiful 🥺 it's super busy as well but you'll find space for you and the show is going on repeat so you won't miss anything.
It was a pretty long walk from place to place but it was fun and the weather was great so yes we really enjoyed it!
I really recommend anybody to go there once if you're in Berlin during this time next year.

Must go if you are in Berlin during the festival time. It's around 5KM+ walk to see all the art sites. Also there is an app you can download and you can follow the route so you won't miss seeing all the important spots. And know which is the best starting / ending point. I recommend starting from the TV tower and then following the route till the end point.

If you are in berlin during festival of lights don’t miss it. Because of the rush It’s recommended to go there with public transport rather than your own car. If you are going with your own car then park your car at public parking on road-side or underground parking at “Alexander Platz” and enjoy first show at Berliner Dom then walk or ride U-bahn toward “Brandenburg gate” or park near “Hauptbahnhof” and ride or walk toward Alexander Platz.
