As Chappell Roan Comes Home, a Weekend With Queer Kansas City | Condé Nast Traveler

"I watched Fetch, a raunchy queer merch store, sell out of its new Chappell-related goods almost immediately—by the time I stopped by on Saturday the only thing left was a pink Pink Pony Club neon sign—illustrating how local retailers quickly tapped into and amplified the homecoming excitement." - Chris Ritter

Fetch is one of my favorite shops in Kansas City. The assortment of gifts is great - everything from Bimbocore to National Parks - they seriously have something for everyone. The vintage clothing selection is great, with lots of racks and displays to dig through. Great atmosphere, staff, and vibes.

A unique shop in the west bottoms with an eclectic selection of unusual gifts. Easy to find with plenty of free parking. The people here are friendly and helpful. The inventory is well displayed and the shop is bright and clean. Worth the stop when shopping in the bottoms.

A very fun and cute little gift shop. They have a lot of unique and timely designs. Also a lot of price points so definitely check them out.

Fetch is continually one of my favorite shops in KC. Great staff, fantastic products, amazing pop ups, and the best doggos. This is always my go to stop for a gift...but also I never leave without a vintage goodie or candle for myself as well. 10/10 would recommend.

If joy had a storefront, it’d be FETCH. A mix of custom goods, vintage finds, and community love. More than a shop—it’s a vibe, a hug, and a place to connect. You’ll walk in for a gift and leave with a bag full of happiness! Everyone I’ve interacted with there is chill, nobody is pushing you to buy anything. And their rotating welcome sign is so uplifting and sassy and necessary - thank you!

Bought this awesome cocktail book the other day. It’s a great addition to our bar and can’t wait to try some of these yummy drinks 😋. We’ve been in a few times and the staff is always super welcoming. Would recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a unique gift.

Yelp
I have been wanting to drop by for a while! I was not disappointed. They had a wonderful selection of items that I was interested in. I especially love their commitment to being an inclusive environment for all to shop and enjoy. If you are a good, open minded person, there is something for you in this shop!

Yelp
Get in, loser, we're going shopping... ...at that smashing little boutique on the west side in that bougie area just brimming with great eats and even better shops. Fetch is full of fun finds, KC merch, locally sourced product displays, and so much more. The back room is loaded up with some excellent thrift finds, even though the price point is reflective of the unique pieces moreso than just turning over resold 'stuff'. Throw in some cool home accents (I was so close to nabbing the martini olive throw rug) and some other kitschy gems and you have a great spot. Parking is west side street stuff, so you're on your own. The staff is super friendly and always making suggestions, and their playlists are phenomenal. Pricing is on par with the area and like shops, but give yourself a little treat now and then. But give that south wall a gaze, because their sandwich sign social voice is seriously top shelf. I don't care what side of the fence you land on, Fetch focuses their messages on kindness & humanity. Give me more, soooooo much more. And Gretchen was spot on, because it's so Fetch.

Yelp
Fetch has moved. The new location is about 1/3 the size of the last one, but it still has the old personality. It has a lot of the same stock, too. Vintage fashion, fun greeting cards, pop culture-influenced home decor and furnishings, hip reading options are more. There's something for everybody and everybody is welcome.

Yelp
I've been wanting to visit since I stumbled across their Instagram, and it did not disappoint! From the message board outside, to the offering of quaint items inside, this store was a dream to visit. They had a large selection of T shirts, stickers, pennants, and more up front. They've also got a lovely selection of vintage clothing and hats in the back of the store. It's great to support a local business - and one that strives to create a place where everyone is welcome too!

Yelp
Check out Fetch's new location in Westside! The new space is slightly smaller than original the West Bottoms store, but it's still jam packed with all of the goodies you expect from Fetch! Great service, great value, great stuff. Parking can be a challenge in Westside, but enjoy the walk through the beautiful neighborhood if you have to park a block away.

Yelp
What an amazing store! If you like vintage clothing, records, tchotchkes, candles, stickers, or fun pop cultural items, you should check out Fetch! Located in an unassuming building in the West Bottoms, this place definitely needs to be on your "must visit" list in KC. They have vintage clothing in all sizes, lots of queer-friendly goods, music and more. There's even a whole Taylor Swift section if you're into that. The owners are good people too. I'll gladly come back here again in the future. If you're looking for a gift or something fun for yourself, you can't go wrong. They even have fun/witty wrapping paper and cards too!

Yelp
Epic gift shop in the West Bottoms. It's quirky, friendly full of quality gift items, extremely left-leaning political humor, and super cool vintage clothing in the back. The setting here is cool because many Kansas Citians have come to know the West Bottoms specifically for their "First Weekend" markets, antiques, food trucks and the like. This place fits in perfectly, and is open full time vs the first weekend antique shops. Found them on Yelp years ago and popped in, then came to know them better working on a virtual gift guide. I popped in for work, but bought things on my own. For my father-in-law, I got an amazing smelling beard balm from Good Supply Co. This brand is scattered through the shop, and they have some of the best smelling candles around like their National Park collection candles. They've got fun stickers, push-the-envelope cards, Dolly Parton and Schitt's Creek themed gifts (for holiday season 2020), and it's genuinely fun to shop here. For Covid protocols, they require masks and offer a sanitizer station right when you walk in. You can also just call them and pay and have them bring things out to your car this holiday season. OH, and they offer a wrap & ship for $15 where they handle all of it for you if you're sending something out. Great gift shop with lots of room to explore, and highly recommend checking it out as you shop local.

Yelp
Heard about this store at an online Yelp event. Don't make the mistake of not stopping in and experiencing a fun shopping experience! Great gifts for those hard to get for because they have everything! Candles and lotions are amazing! I stopped in with the intent of buying one item, an RBG candle, and walked out with 5 other items to give to people for Christmas! A bonus is they are diverse and support the BLM movement! Do yourself a solid and go here!

Yelp
The fourth and final stop on our "day date" (see my reviews for The General Store, Tyler Kingston Mercantile, and Mid Coast Modern) was a store called Fetch, located in the West Bottoms. I recently attended a web event where the shop owners shared a few of their trending items, but what I'd seen online did not prepare me for the MASSIVE collection of goods at Fetch. There's a great selection of gift items, many of which are a bit risqué, but clever and funny-- keychains, valet trays, candles, socks, etc. There were beanie caps and backpacks, a PHENOMENAL collection of waxed canvas and leather bags, and novelty items with a particular nod to Dolly Parton and Schitt's Creek. But the REAL meat in this store was its VAST collection of vintage clothing and accessories. Don't get in your head that if you see something you like you can go look for it in your size. It's not that kind of collection. These are curated and select pieces... if the one you see is in your size, you're in luck. If not, you'll need to keep on looking for the next treasure. As a "big boy" these kinds of shops aren't generally somewhere I can shop for myself, but despite that, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be coming back to Fetch again and again. If you've never visited the West Bottoms, you need to. It is a one-of-a-kind place... and it's a PERFECT fit for a store like Fetch!

Yelp
Was excited to check out Fetch after they were featured during an online Yelp event. It was a great excuse to wander the West Bottoms (major shout out for the growth there! If you haven't made time to wander, do so and put fetch on your list) Owners were great on the Yelp call and the employee in store when I went was also wonderful. Very friendly, super helpful and not at all pushy which is a must in a store that needs time to wander so you can let it all soak in. So much to look at! Definitely something for everyone as long as you're okay with a little bit of sarcasm and adult language thrown in

Yelp
I like that that there are more options outside of just first Friday shopping in the West Bottoms. Fetch is a great showcase of new and vintage treasures- with some sass mixed in (from the merch, the staff is lovely). Some things that caught my eye - vintage glassware, fun wall art, irreverent stickers. Their values as a shop are very prominent, so this would be a fantastic place for the pop-culture loving, politically-minded people in your life.

Yelp
I got a little confused about the stairs at first but I figured it out LOL this little place is close to my apartment and a fun little drive. I appreciate them being open on Sunday's because today was the only day I could get some critical shopping done due to college classes. Their store is BIG!! They have a gift section and an apparel section - don't even get me started on their sticker, enamel pin and holiday card selections. I was ready to buy them out on these doodads. I picked up 2 christmas cards that directly reference A Christmas Story (best Christmas movie ever) and I can't wait to send them to the people who I know will appreciate it.

Yelp
This store is sooo FETCH! Lol okay I don't even know what that expression means but Thai store is super cute. They have such fun novelty stuff in there. I love it. Check it out if your in the bottoms

Yelp
This is a pretty, cool, & swanky shop. Not going to lie, there's a lot of stuff you will find here than your average main stores. I love how they have retro, vintage, even new stuff here to buy. It's very random but there's is definitely something out there for somebody. I can definitely find an unique item here for a gift. They also sells CBD products here too. Definitely worth to check out in the historic west bottoms.

Yelp
Love this shop! Always well-kept with new items coming in all of the time. All of their items are American made and at least half of them will make you laugh out loud. Stephanie and Patrick, the owners, are always so hospitable, knowledgeable, and kind. They also host workshops that are very worth attending!!

Yelp
This is a phenomenal place to rent for your next event! They are patient, kind, understanding, and very accessible while you do your planning, no matter what event it is! The space is large and very open, so it's easy to have any sort of setup you need. They are open to many different time tables, and if you have someone dropping off and picking up tables or other things, they help with facilitating that. Great people great space and the shop is really fun too!

Yelp
Fetch is unlike any other shop in KC. Located in the West Bottoms, Fetch is masculine, yet elegant, quirky and fun. Stephanie and Patrick are super friendly and knowledgable, and their products are hand-picked and specifically American-made. Stop by for a unique gift, card, wrapping paper, or just to say hello. Attend a workshop, or rent their beautiful space for an event or party!
