My boyfriend and I walked by here after grabbing lunch at another place, and it was SO whimsical and cute, I wanted to immediately go in there. We held off until dinner the next day, and stopped in on a Saturday night. It wasn't too crowded, but later on during the night, they got a lot busier and that's when they started to struggle.
We ordered the special of the day, a lobster roll jr, a turkey club sandwich, and another special of the day, lobster fritters. The cashier didn't ask if I wanted the side salad or chips & a pickle which the menu had stated. That's my fault, I should have told him I wanted a salad just to clarify, but he didn't ask either. He was nice about it when he brought it out and I asked if I could have the salad instead of the chips. We got our sandwiches but the lobster fritters never came out. I finally had to go up to the counter to ask about it. That's when he went to the back and brought it out to give to me. The turkey sandwich was okay, pretty average. My boyfriend liked the lobster roll. But the fritters were a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't a good as either of us thought it would be. And for $12 bucks, they weren't worth it.
I decided to order a sundae for us to share. I decided on the Penny Dreadful with vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. The sundae didn't take too long to come out, especially since they had a huge crowd of people just come in. The sundae was a little sloppily made. The whipped cream was falling off the side and onto the plate it came with. The menu stated that it came with crushed oreos, but ours came with chocolate sprinkles instead. I don't know if they just made a mistake or they ran out of oreos, but it would have been nice to be told ahead of time. The sundae itself was okay. I was hoping for the ice cream to be out of this world, but it was pretty average.
The employees were nice and friendly. But someone had mentioned that the attention to detail was key here, and that's what was lacking for us.
