Google
10/10 Pasta!! The pasta was amazing, we had been let down my other food we tried but this restaurant was amazing. Great prices, great service and great food. 10/10 recommend

Google
This place was recommended by a friend which lives in Rome and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The porchetta with crostini was super tasty, the tonnarelli con sugo d’arrosto were delicious. Spaghetti alla carbonara were very saucy - pretty good. Ambience was relaxed and felt truly roman cuisine despite looking quite a touristy place. Would recommend. Cost was honest as well.

Google
After 5 days in Rome, this is definitely the best meal. I went with my family, 2 teenagers who are totally foodies, we were craving totally traditional Italian food. My gut instinct took me to this place. It was so delicious!!! I want to go back!! Everything is hand made in the house. The wine is excellent too.

Google
Best italien food I ever had! Very authentic! Service was also extraordinary!

Google
Tourist trap! Very mediocre food. Ordered the lobster pasta. Did not have lobster meat in the pasta and shell was empty. Asked if we could get some lobster since that is what we ordered, but didn’t get any. Veal steak was the worst I have ever had. Pasta with clams was tasteless. The minestrone soup was very good. DONOT come here, much better options in Rome.

Google
Relaxed location even tho it's basically next to the main shopping street in Rome. Staff was extremely friendly to everyone! Dishes were amazing! Ate the best Carbonara so far there! Prices were very reasonable depending on the quality. You could spend from 15 up to 50+ euros, all depending on how many things you wanted to try. Would definitely recommend!

Google
Extremely pleased . The service was exceptional , perfect English spoken by our waiter . I had read that Italian soup is made and topped with day old bread - this was amazing . The wine, selected by my waiter, the pasta , desert and coffee , exceptional . Even the patrons dining in the restaurant were warm and friendly. Thank you for an excellent dining experience.

Google
Absolutely do not go for grilled vegetables. It smells disgustingly bad. It is disastrous. I had grilled vegetables which is equally oily elsewhere and it should not taste this bad. The veal steak was dry and too cooked, making it hard to chew. It does not taste like it should. We cannot make out what meat it actually is by tasting which means it’s bad enough. The pasta was too salty but maybe acceptable to some. They also have hidden service charge.

Yelp
Excellent little spot. Food was really good. Felt a little less touristy than many of the other spots but still right in the heart of tourist places. Service good. Would have been a 4 1/2 (if there was that category on Yelp) but at the end since they knew we were tourista's and from US where people are much more generous they lobbied for additional tip. Which we would have given anyway but since they don't ask their own didn't sit particularly well.

Yelp
A pleasant little Italian restaurant close to our hotel. Only 8 tables in our section. We were the second table seated then within 10 minutes the other tables filled. Service was slow because the owner had problems with his tablet. He finally came back with pen and paper. One couple was unhappy and left just prior. I had spaghetti pomodoro which was hot and filling. Wifey had fettuccine bolognese which she said didn't have enough meat. Ordered grilled mixed vegetables. I mainly ate them. Leeks, eggplant and zucchini. The bread was okay.

Yelp
I did not read reviews before trying this place for a quick lunch. It turns out most yelpers got it wrong. It was one of the worst restaurants in Rome. The food was not good. My husband had the carbonara that was terribly salty. I had an eggplant Parmesan with no red sauce. It was just a cheesy mess. The ingredients were not quality or fresh. Also for their steep prices, the portions were tiny but would not have finished it anyway as it was so bad!! Do yourself a favor & don't eat here

Yelp
There was five of us. The food was phenomenal each had something different we love the service. Sante the waiter was on top of this game.. the place has a lot of history we highly recommend

Yelp
Perhaps, lazy -- they've got comfortable with their 4.5 cumulative stars on Yelp, that's my only explanation for my experience. Service was minimal in personality, let alone attentiveness (less than the normal casual European level). They are off on a little street off the main drag, so the street-side tables make it a nice setting, just what you want especially for a visiting tourist. The gf and I ordered: ================= 1. Meatballs [13 Euros for 2 medium balls, 1.5 stars] -- really unheard of to serve, first in my 9 days of travel, the flavor was off and inedible. We sent it back and they took it off the bill. Plus, 6.5 euros per ball? Outrageous. 2. Amatriciana with Bucatini [11 euros, 4.0 stars] -- This classic sauce takes its spiciness from black pepper and dried chiles and its depth of flavor from guanciale, Italian salt-cured pork jowl. If you can't find it, use pancetta. Note to Management: ================= Step it up.

Yelp
Lonely Planet directed us here and what a great recommendation!!! We ordered the Carpaccio Braesola, the Pinsa funghi e salsiccia, and the Cacio e Pepe pasta. All were amazing!! Lots of international travelers eating at this location but also a fair share of Romans which to me is a good indication of a great place. Would love to come back the next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Fabulous wine rec, Rosemary studded of Addis and our pizza (and ponds) was great as were two seafood dishes. Lovely service.

Yelp
Yep, this is the straight up Roman casual-dish cafe I was looking for. It's right on the beaten tourist path but it is legit. Eggplant parmigiana, penne all'arrabiatta and tiramisu were basically the best I've had anywhere. Other patrons from all over including Italians. Service was enthusiastic with a smile. Dinner for two including 20 euro wine and very gold coffee was 70 euros, quite decent. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This used to be a delicious little gem but it seems to have been bought out by the place next door which is a very average tourist trap. We were disappointed in our meal and the service.

Yelp
2 star food / 4 star service, wine, and atmosphere: This was our first stop for a meal in Rome! Came here for lunch upon multiple recommendations from friends. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day - a great introduction to Italian al fresco dining, however the food was underwhelming. We ordered the prosciutto with melon, carbonara (supposedly their specialty), and penne alla'arrabiatta. The prosciutto was too fatty, not very flavorful; the carbonara was too saucy with undercooked / fatty guanciale; the penne itself wasn't al dente, and the sauce was dull. The house white wine and service were the redeeming elements of our lunch here. Definitely worth a stop for aperitivo in the evening!

Yelp
I won't soon forget my first bite of perfectely executed Spaghetti Pomodoro, with cheese, at Beltramme on Via della Croce. This was after first consuming a generous plate of delicious bresaola over arugula with thin slices of salty chesse as an appetizer. We ate at an outside table on a beautiful early afternoon near the Spanish Steps. The inside is dark, and long and narrow, but looked to be an inviting room with interesting things to look at on the walls. The staff was friendly and attentive without being pushy. Fabulous lunch!

Yelp
Great place to try all the pasta and local dishes. Everything was simple and delicious. We had a wonderful meal. Just check out the pictures and you will want some too.

Yelp
Met the owner. Super friendly and great hosts. If you want to eat like a local, come here. It is one of the only authentic Rome lunch spots. Delicious!!!

Yelp
Fairly typical trattoria - probably a 3.5 really. Tucked away on a side street, it's in a super touristy area but was full of locals at lunch. My party ordered a .5L of wine (reasonable at €5) and I ordered cacio e pepe. It's a simply dish but easy to screw up with bad quality ingredients. Not here - this version was excellent, far better than what I'd had the night before. My dining partners ordered a Greek salad which was loaded with tomatoes and fresh feta, and braised lamb. She was horrified to find out she'd ordered lamb even though it was explained to her....damn tourists. Regardless, her dish was REALLY fatty. The meat itself was delicious & well seasoned. The restaurant itself is cute + cramped with big sheets of paper on the walls that you can draw on. Our server was very nice + efficient. A nice find in an area of crappy tourist traps!

Yelp
Delicious meal! My friend and I were walking around looking for something nearby where we had just been shopping. Walked in and were seated immediately! I got cacio e pepe and my friend got penne al'amatriciana. Both were delicious! My cacio e pepe was huge, I didn't come near finishing it, but it was so cheesy and good. We ended the meal with pistachio tiramisu which was amazing! I am a huge fan of pistachio and want to have pistachio flavored anything.

Yelp
This small authentic restaurant looked to be the most popular on the street and so we had to eat there. All was delicious and the special treatment of our kids by the staff also made this one of our best meals in Rome. Pasta, both homemade and dried, steaks, fish, appetizers, all delicious and authentic.

Yelp
The only authentic Fiaschetteria Beltranne says it all... over 100 years! Wonderful service and authentic cuisine...sit outside and take your time!

Yelp
Amazing little restaurant. Family style service and the best pasta in Rome. 100% recommend visiting

Yelp
A hideaway gem a short walk from the Spanish Steps where we experienced one of our best dinners while visiting Rome. Generous portions, friendly and attentive staff and deliciously prepared cuisine. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Yelp
I would rate them none if I could. My family and I went to Rome for vacation and find this restaurant has good review on Yelp near where we stayed. It was passed lunch hour, we walked in and the waiter was very rude seem like saying "fxxk" to us. I was't sure if he was saying Italian or something else. But we all could tell his facial expression that we were not welcome in the restaurant. Luckily, other lady greeted us and set us down to the table. Otherwise, we would turn out to the door. We ordered Italian ham and cheese and spaghetti with clam sauce and meat ball and veal. The clams seem not fresh and disappointed. Overall, the food was okay. I wish they can improve their service and food quality.

Yelp
The folks working there seemed to be having a great time, and they laughed along with all of my father's awful jokes. My family and I each had different pastas, and they were all very tasty. Also, their tiramisu was amazing! Thanks for the great experience! - Your biggest fans from Los Angeles

Yelp
On day we visited, it hailed during our walk to restaurant. Since I insisted that we pass up other restaurants to eat here, my two teens and husband definitely were not pleased with me by time we arrived However, once the food arrived all was forgiven. Although each of us loved our dish, we insisted trying the other's food because it was that amazing.

Yelp
Hidden little gem that serves outstanding pasta dishes, looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
Spending a couple weeks in Rome and walking around, I would always see this restaurant busy, and try to get a seat, after being turned down a couple times, I decided to get a reservation and come in planed and properly, this place has history, it used to be a museum in the 1800/s, now a trendy little restaurant with great italian menu, I tried the Caprese as an appetizer and a homemade pasta in a cheese and pepper cream, wow! I mean wow! It was delicious, I tell people who visit Rome to go there and they all thank me. The staff are super friendly and when you see it busy everytime shows you the authenticity of this restaurant. Make sure you try it "when in Rome"

Patti C.

Yelp
This quaint and cozyrestaurant with delicious food and wonderful service still stands out as one of my favorites of our 2.5 week Italian vacation.

Yelp
Average Italian food. We ordered two pasta dishes. One was good and another was below average.

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant amongst many other little places and good shopping. Historic story and good food. We had the seasonal vegetable (artichokes), antipasti, and homemade pasta Bolognese. The house wine was plentiful and cheap.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals in Rome. I had veal, roasted potatoes, and cicori. The waiters were excellent.

Yelp
Can't say anything about the food since I didn't make it that far. This was by far the worst service I've ever received in my life. Perhaps the owners should think twice before hiring the kind of servers they did. The lady that was working the night I was there was a blonde. To my regret, I didn't catch her name as I left after receiving abominable service. From the moment I walked in the door she was openly hostile. Since it was cold out I wanted to sit away from the door but the server lady started yelling at us to sit near the door saying the back was for a reservation. We sat where the lady indicated but she didn't give us a menu, instead heading towards the back to clean up that table. Since the tables that were sitting next to us had been handed their menu when they sat down and they seemed busy cleaning up the back I went to grab a menu which was right next to my table so we could look at the menu while we waited. The lady comes running from the back and starts barking. She starts barking Woof woof like a dog at me before yelling that I'm being rude. That's the first time I've seen an adult bark at anyone. Needless to say I did not stay for dinner. If the server feels the need to bark and yell that I'm being rude because I'm grabbing a menu because I wasn't handed one then maybe they should try going to any other restaurant for a lesson in etiquette. If you want to be treated like a dog by someone who feels compelled to literally bark at you feel free to come visit but if you want to be treated like a paying patron avoid this place at all cost. No food is good enough to make up for that kind of lack of decency and extreme hostility. TLDR; server was hostile and literally barked ("woof*woof") and yelled at me from the moment I stepped in the door. Obviously didn't eat here after it was clear they didn't want my money and I am warning any and everybody I know against this place.

Yelp
When in Rome ... we adjusted to the 'eat dinner at 10,' and got seated at 10:30pm on their front patio, warm with a gentle breeze. The people friendly and accommodating, smiles all around. We ordered their signature Amatriciana with bucatini, the tuna salad with radicchio, olives, rocket, which we dressed with the balsamic vinegar and EVO, salt and pepper. Then came the next course, which they brought out simultaneously with the secondi: the beef entrecôte with truffle sauce and roasted potatoes. We finished with their classic tiramisu and chocolate panda cotta. I did not like either dessert--the tiramisu was custard laden with no discernible rum and no mascarpone. The panda cotta did not have the aspic consistency I associate with the dish. But my husband gobbled down both desserts, so maybe it's for those who like sweet with their sweets. The Amatriciana was heavenly, creamy bacony nourishing goodness in a bowl. Simple and al dente doesn't get better than this. The tuna salad I've had better, the tuna not as well oil cured as I would've liked but the vinegar livened it. The olives, btw, were canned. Why? When this is the land of olives. The steak was fantastic, served sizzling on a skillet with excellent rosemary potatoes, not oily and the beef grilled to perfection, bits of black truffle on it. The service was spectacular, warm and sweet, welcoming and jocular. A very pleasant and relaxing final dinner in Roma:-)

Yelp
Excellent service and good food at a reasonable price near the Spanish Steps. Treated like family by the entire staff.

Hlzdg H.

Yelp
It's probably more of a 3.5 star place, but I'd never give it 4.0. Service was challenging and we don't ask for much in Europe. Food came out here and there for a small group, so some were finished when others were beginning. The food overall was good, not great. Over cooked garlic bread, very good homemade fettuccini, good gnocchi and ravioli, so so shrimp. We ate inside which was okay atmosphere wise -- the outside looked great from an atmosphere perspective.

Jimmy L.

Yelp
This place rocks! The chow is excellent and the service is outstanding by American standards. The antipasto for two is humongous and could work for 4 or more. The pistachio tiara misu is pretty awesome and I never eat desert but I ate that one. Best meal I had in Rome.

Anna H.

Yelp
The best food and service I received my entire trip. Amazing pasta and house wine. Did not feel touristy at all.

Carmen J.

Yelp
Great spot, close to the Spanish steps but not a tourist trap. My meal was great and everything around me looked and smelled excellent. Molto bene!!!

Mats B.

Yelp
We went here due to a recommendation from a journalist. This is really a historic place and very traditional small restaurant/trattoria. You need to make a reservation. Service and interior is charming and personal but the food we had didn't meet our expectations. Maybe they were a bit to high. Cheese to start with was alright, but how difficult is that. Then we had Pasta al Funghi. Barely ok! For dessert, the only item that seemed ok was a traditional Tiramisu. But that really was a joke for a Tiramisu. BIG warning. I wouldn't recommend this rest to anyone.

Lisbeth V.

Yelp
Amazing italian food served by super friendly and nice staff!! You really feel welcome there. Best pasta, best cheesecake.....you won't regret a meal there!

Julia M.

Yelp
After some disappointing meals in Rome, thank goodness we got this recommendation. We loved every bite and the service was excellent. If it wasn't our last night, we'd definitely be going back! So glad I gave the cacio e pepe pasta another try here after a horrible attempt at another restaurant. It was cheesy, flavourful and delicious. Don't hesitate but make a reservation!! This place gets packed and has limited sitting.

Yes G.

Yelp
Based on Yelp reviews, we went there this afternoon about 30min to the closing time. The waiter was little exasperated to see us but seated us anyway. Must have been his long shift and the hot Rome weather (90F). Once we got seated his charming self came back. He smiled, explained the menu of the day and encouraged us to ask questions. We ordered Melanzane alla parmigiana as we wanted to taste the mozzarella but had enough of Caprese (just mozzarella) by then as we has been in Italy for a week. It was good but not great. You better like eggplant to enjoy this dish. For the main course we had their specialty hand made pasta with cheese and pepper, hand made pasta with roast sauce and hand made pasta with mussels. They were very good. The best pasta as we had learned over the week is cooked just right, not too soft and not too hard. This was one of them. The house wine was good as well.
