The seafood was very good and fresh. Our waiter, a lady, was very good and attentive, at least at the beginning; a little less at the end, but good. The place is pricey, which is fine and obvious from the menu. What is not transparent is the bill as it is purposefully made to scam tourists or people who do not pay attention. Most Miami places add a standard automatic 18% gratuity and then put an option for ADDITIONAL gratuity, usually at 3%, 5%, 7%. This is understood and clear in all restaurants and bars. In this place they bury the 18% automatic gratuity in a second page bill and do not call it gratuity but a fee, then they add a credit card fee (relatively steep), and then, in the general bill for the customers, they put a SUGGESTED (note: not called additional but SUGGESTED) tip at 15%, 20%, 25%, as intimating that this is not an additional one but the basic and only tip. If you do not pay attention and you like the food and tip 25% (as we almost did) this is calculated on the total bill that includes the "service" charge and the credit card charge, that, in our case, would have amounted to a staggering 60%+ on the bill... This is deceiving, very low class and cheap for a place that makes its name from high quality cuisine.
Transparency is the key, NOBODY is afraid of tipping 25-30%, but EVERYONE is turned off by cheap tricks to get an extra few bucks. To top this, when we asked clarifications to a young waiter (a little boy, not our nice lady waiter) he was arrogant, rude and talking over us as he had a stake on this. In summary, you might have good and fresh seafood and a great cook, but this does not make it up for lack of transparency and low class. Never again
