Fifty Seven Waterberg

Every time we returned from a game drive, as we approach the gates of 57, our guide would say "welcome home". And that's genuinely how it felt like. ||Our first time in ZA and we spent a week in 57 Waterberg. I'm convinced we could not have made a better decision. ||Manager Stuart frequently checked up on us. And all throughout our stay, every staff we met were genuinely friendly and welcoming, even in passing.||There are no chefs here, only wizards. Every thing that came out the kitchen was magic. ||But good food needs good service, so Piet and Reuben always made sure we were looked after. Dining was definitely only our second favourite activity.||Our guide throughout was William. Always willing to go the extra mile, answer questions, and share his knowledge about life in the bush. Helps that he has a sense of humour. ||So yes. Do not visit this lodge unless you want to feel melancholic upon your inevitable departure.

This was the highlight of our honeymoon. The staff at 57 waterberg went above and beyond. This lodge is a hidden gem. Our game driver was amazing, food was amazing, service and staff were amazing. I do not have one bad word to say or even a suggestion to improve as everything was PERFECT. We stayed in room 8. Giraffes, zebras and many animals walked by our room and it was sooo cool to see. Elephants came and drank out of our pool. So if you are looking for a safari where you will see 5/5 of the Big Five come to 57 waterberg. Room 8 and I think room 3 are good options if you want visitors at your pool!

TRULY UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE AT FIFTY SEVEN WATERBERG LODGE. Since our visit to Fifty Seven Waterberg in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve I've found myself reflecting on how to adequately put into words the remarkable and unforgettable experience we had. Having visited numerous Game reserves across South Africa and neighboring countries, I can confidently say that our stay at Fifty Seven Waterberg stands out as a truly highlight. The natural beauty of the landscape, the diverse habitats and the variety of wildlife made for an extraordinary and enriching experience. This was further elevated by the exceptional standard of accommodation - stylish, comfortable and thoughtfully integrated into the environment. Every meal was a culinary delight, reflecting the same attention to detail and quality that defines the entire lodge experience. The warmth and consistent hospitality of the staff added a personal and welcoming touch throughout our stay. Special recognition must also be given to the highly knowledgeable and professional rangers whose passion and insight enriched every game drive of which we missed none. Their ability to bring the bush to life, both visually and through storytelling, was truly outstanding. Fifty Seven Waterberg is more than just a destination, it's an experience to be treasured. We’ve been to Welgevonden a couple of times and to be honest there are better experiences at this price. The honeymoon suite was lovely - beautiful setting and spacious. The game viewing was great, although would have preferred private drives. The food was a miss for us - no salads and very limited choices. The chef was perhaps too experimental and a number of meals were just an over-reach like the disappointing braai night. However the main reason I wouldn’t return is that we didn’t feel welcome as a gay couple. Only one or two of the staff made an effort to engage us and ensure we were having a good time. Just tolerating the LGBT+ community is not enough… Fam, rather support a lodge like Laluka which is very welcoming.

The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Game viewing was very good. Room was excellent. Would happily stay here again. Food was also very good.

The best trip i have made so far has to be this one. From the time we arrived we were treated with care. Food was out world, the room was the best, we got the luxury suite number 8 with private outdoor pool.

It was a fantastic experience, everyon there is so attnetive and friendly, the suites are modern and very comnfortable and the food is fantastic, game druves with Ephraim was very insightful and we saw the big 5, cheetahs, aardvark and many more, highlight was the last night when a breeding elephant herd of about 14, can to drink from our private pool, they actually emptied it - and they were literally 3 to 4 metres away!

My daughter and I were completely spoilt: we loved our stay and will be back. The service was warm and welcoming, the accommodation was excellent and the game drives where fun and informative.
