Once I saw that this place existed, I HAD to check it out! My family and I drove 22+ hours to take our vacation in Colorado, with this store being one of the biggest draws to do so! I'd give it 5 stars except for one reason. I was SO excited to finally be able to shop here, and my husband and our two boys were ecstatic to look at all the throwback toys of our childhood, and the kids were just excited for toys lol. Our boys are ages 9&13, so I was able to warn them to behave themselves, and they were old enough to listen and on their best behavior.
I had picked out a few small items to purchase and was debating on some bigger ones when I figured if I was getting ready to check out that I'd double back to the front door first and grab one of the magnets before being completely done shopping. The minute I was standing at the door browsing the magnets, the lady that works there sprinted over and offered to hold my purchases while I finished shopping. I told her I was fine, and she said she would be happy to hold onto them for me. I said, well I'm still debating whether or not to get some of the things I was holding, and she's like, well that's okay I'll put them behind the desk and you can still decide. Yes she smiled the entire time, but she was so nervous it was clear she was afraid I was going to run out the door, or pass my purchases off to someone else outside maybe. And I GET there are some crappy people out in the world who do that kind of stuff. I do understand stores need to protect their stock. But I was STILL inside the store. Just looking at the magnets. Of course I had every intention to pay for the items I wanted, and I prefer to hold onto them so I can check the prices and compare what I can get for the budget I've set, while I'm still looking around. But she would NOT leave me until I emptied my hands. And that I just don't get. You're so worried about losing a few dollars that you would treat your customers that way, I mean really?! A family of 4, and I'm a 30 something year old mother ooh'ing and ahh'ing over your fabulous store, and you're that sure I'm a shoplifter?? You lost a lot more business by treating me like that then you would have even if I was a shoplifter. Customer service is everything to me, so idc how cool your sh1t is, you don't know how to do business. Sorry
